  1. That's like saying Lizzo lost more weight than Halle Berry.
  2. I used to be one of them. Then I got a STEM degree, a decent job, bought a house, grew some pubic hair and started to get laid. Not often enough, but not never. Now I identify as a conservative. Of course, it may also be related to liberals going so far left with DEI, boys in girls' bathrooms and sports, $900 of free stuff- just walk out with it, zero $$ bail- even if you're already scheduled for 5 separate felony trials, and free food, housing and healthcare for everyone except citizens.
  3. You're forgetting the innocents who don't get shot, robbed, burglarized or carjacked every year, because they're armed, or the bad guys think there's a chance that they are. Take away our right to be armed, and it's open season on the innocent, with the bad guys still armed. Because they won't be giving up their guns. Look at most Blue cities with tight gun control. Crime is out of control.
  4. Here's my theory on that, and that's all it is- my theory. The guy was bear crawling on the far side of the gable roof, too low to be seen by the SS sniper over the roof ridge. When he popped up his head to threaten the local cop on the ladder, he exposed himself, and the SS sniper was already scanning the rooftop because of the bystanders calling attention to it. That forced Crooks to start firing at Trump, and the SS sniper ended him, but only after he got off several shots. And because of the haste, the shots weren't well placed. Which would make both the local cop and the SS sniper into heroes in my book. Let's see what the investigation says.
  5. Calling for him to be shot would subject someone to arrest. Mostly, they're lamenting that the assassin missed, suggesting that the next one take more target practice. Edit: Here's a Dem representative's staffer who got fired for it: A staffer for Democratic Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson has been fired after suggesting “shooting lessons” following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump Saturday. https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/14/house-dem-staffer-fired-dont-miss-next-time-trump-assassination-attempt/ How stupid can a gub'ment staff member be... (Don't answer, that's rhetorical) Kudos to her boss for giving her the boot.
  6. That's being discusses ad nauseum in other threads. The kid's 20 years old, donated to the Dems, and he registered Repub. Not unlike thousands of Dems who saw that a vote in the Dem primary was wasted, so they registered Repub just to vote against Trump. His parents aren't registered Repubs, so maybe he's just rebelling against them. Or maybe he's a RINO, or one of the many Never-Trump Repubs. Basically, meaningless.
  7. Gave you a Like, and I stand corrected.
  8. Quit being pedantic. Former presidents are referred to as Mr President. Besides, "former and future" is a lot of typing.
  9. I'm basically saying that being registered as a Repub means nothing, especially for a 20 year old who may have never voted before, just 2 years into adulthood. And whose parents are registered Dems (according to....sources...). He may have just registered Repub to rebel against Mom and Dad. I did stupid stuff at that age.
  10. Is there a link to that statement? I'm not doubting it, just looking for verification. Edit: I'd add that would be in conflict with a statement by the FBI. Kevin Rojek, had confirmed that the FBI is leading the investigation into the shooting and that it “is our assessment at this time” that law enforcement did not know the shooter was on the roof until he began firing. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/07/14/was-trump-shooting-secret-service-fail/74400138007/
  11. Not to mention that there's a big contingent of Never-Trumpers in the Repub party, and even more RINOs.
  12. Forget about subjective assessments like untrained and scared, the big pumpkin looking thing shown in this photo shows an agent that is objectively not qualified, just by physical size. Just lucky there wasn't another shooter.
  13. You may recall it was a thing in the primaries. The Dem elite made it pointless to vote in the Dem primaries, so a lot of Dems registered as Repubs to vote against Trump in the Repub primary.
  14. A local law enforcement officer climbed to the roof and found Crooks, who pointed the rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder, and the gunman quickly fired toward Trump, the officials said. That’s when U.S. Secret Service gunmen shot him, the officials said. https://apnews.com/article/trump-rally-assassination-attempt-db24c5bfbbe7d09fa2437c3c836bb434?taid=6694218469c80700016401c0 https://dailycaller.com/2024/07/14/officer-encounter-shooter-trump-assassination-attempt/
  15. That's not hard to believe. You may recall it was a thing in the primaries. The Dem elite made it pointless to vote in the Dem primaries, so a lot of Dems registered as Repubs to vote against Trump in the Repub primary.
  16. It's confession by projection. Lefties have elevated it to an artform.
  17. If you want a specific suggestion, you may want to specify your location. For a generic suggestion, take it to any one of the zillion places that work on tablets. They'll toddle off to a store room nearby that will sell them the battery and come back a few minutes later and install it for you. In Bangkok, I'd try Fortune Town or MBK first. But just about all the malls have a tech section. Edit: That's one thing I love about Thailand. Back home, the service fee would make it uneconomical to do even simple repairs. In Thailand, they fix almost anything.
  18. Good info. Thx. The way I read it, the cop got to the top of the ladder, saw the armed guy and had to back off because his hands were on the ladder and not on his gun. The article made it sound like the shooting started within a few seconds, but that may just be the way I read it. I'm sure we'll be getting more details as the investigation unfolds.
  19. Only if yet another Kennedy doesn't end up shot, as the Biden administration has denied him Secret Service coverage.
  20. The point is that the shooter's building is the closest to the stage, and if 130 yards is "outside the security area", it's either a lack of resources, or a deliberate ploy to deny Trump adequate protection. Keep that in mind as Congress investigates allegations that Mayorkas has repeatedly denied the Trump campaign's request for more Secret Service coverage.
  21. They'd have been embarrassed had there been 2 shooters.
  22. FWIW, here's a Fox News Video screen capture of the location. That's close... Edit: I assume it's accurate, but what do I know?
