I'd go for a Yamaha Filano or Honda Giorno with ABS if you want the Scoopy/Fino traditional scooter style. ABS on the front is a useful feature on small wheeled, lightweight scooters. The Honda Adv is also worth considering, but it's more costly.

HOW TO: Remove Ugly Stickers from Indoor Unit of AC? Need HELP!
Kinnock replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in DIY Forum
Has anyone ever seen an energy use sticker that did not show 5 Stars? Surely every appliance, from non inverter ac's to washing machines with hot cycles can't be 5 star rated? -

Stock exhaust vs. "racing exhausts".
Kinnock replied to BangkokReady's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Stock exhaust needs to be tested and certified for type approval and noise legislation in many countries ... that costs. Plus original spare parts have a high mark-up compared to accessories. Compare original equipment brake pads or shock absorbers with accessory pads and shocks ... the (possibly better) non-original parts will be cheaper. Also, some original exhaust systems contain a catalytic converter - which is a costly item often containing platinum or palladium, which is not cheap. But with the aftermarket exhaust silencer, that lack of certification will bite you at the annual inspection .... so you may need to refit the original one if the test center is serious. Swapping for a louder 'silencer' will mean less back pressure, so unless you also tune the fuel injection (or re-jet the carburettor) you may lose some power. With retuning you can get a little extra power, but there's often a cost in reduced fuel economy. -
13 years at Stage 1 .... except for a few days each month when it's like the beach landing scene from Saving Private Ryan.

Yes ..... the box contains a ticket to record the visits by the local policemen. Costs about 1,500 THB per month. There's several on nearby shops. I've seen them ride up on their motorbikes, jump off, do the ticket then ride away. Never seen them actually check anything at the property.

Questions We Would Love to See Asked at the Upcoming Debate

Question to both presidential candidates: Why do you think a forum dedicated to life in Thailand is dominated by posts about US politics? -
Man, 53, Fatally Mauled by Own XL Bully Dog in Lancashire
Kinnock replied to Social Media's topic in World News
.... and there's no such thing as a good dog for rounding up sheep - people just choose Border Collies as a random choice. Same with Police Dogs - Chihuahuas could do just as good a job as Alsatians, and Corgis make excellent guide dogs for the blind. The dog breed has no bearing at all temperament or ability 🤣🤣🤣 -
I use the 'Getting off at Edge Hill' method (as they say in Liverpool, UK). It's one of the last stations before you arrive at the main terminus station 🙂

There's been some obvious click-baiting posts from new members who only ever post contentious questions and never respond to subsequent posts in the thread they started. This trend started when the new owner took over, but after several members highlighted the issue, the trend seemed to stop. I hope future posts are all from real members.

Thai Language Seen as Vital National Symbol, Survey Shows
Kinnock replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not only is the poor English proficiency stunting development, Thai language itself is a poor communication tool due to it's lack of precision, tenses and archaic written structure. -
That is my point, and it went over your head .... completely. Why does there need to be a link to Muslims for the Muslim community to express sympathy. Many other groups have expressed their concerns without any direct involvement, but the Muslim community are isolated and self centered and only comment on Islamic issues.
-
Yes, the Muslim communities are not part of the UK, so why should they care about what happens in the UK. They only get concerned about what happens in the Middle East. Not being directly involved did not stop Royalty, Politicians and leaders in other countries expressing concern and sympathy, but Muslims are special.

Rwanda is a predominantly Christian country, so if speculating, the murderer is probably Christian. But the key issue is that many people in the UK have had enough of the world's problems washing up on their shores, and the problem is compounded by their mal-adjusted offspring. The violent demonstration in Southport today shows the strength of the negativity towards illegal immigration in the UK. Try arriving into Thailand by rubber boat, and you'll not get a free hotel stay and benefits for your kids.

Possibly paid by the cattle farmers lobby group. I remember when the tobacco lobby was paying people to claim health benefits for smoking. Similar to the oil lobby paying for 'research' into the environment.

Thailand businesses urged to adopt same-day delivery strategies
Kinnock replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I saw this in Korea .... requires hundreds of local warehouses, high pressure tactics with delivery drivers and massive funding from venture capital to make it work. Not viable for a business that needs to make profits. -

There's so many bikes for sale here, why not wait until you arrive? Then you can see it, test ride it, and transfer ownership to yourself. Also, good condition newer bikes with a green book are often so close to the cost of a new bike it's not worth the hassle of buying used.

Recommendation for Motorcycle boot for needed ankle support
Kinnock replied to Rhys's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Motocross boots have the best ankle support. Paddock has a good range, with the O'Neil boots being available in Falang sizes at a decent price. I found them to be too stiff for normal riding, and walking is not easy, so not ideal for everyday use. I went for 'adventure' boots in the lower style from Forma - which have a bit less support, but you can walk in them. I still needed to swap the gear change lever for a longer one to accommodate the bigger/stiffer boot. To be honest, I only use them for long rides, as they are hot and heavy and make gear changes a less natural process. So most rides I use some motorcycle specific 'high-top' trainers. They have some protection for toes and ankles, but nowhere near the standard of the Forma Adventure boots or a motocross boot. -
Bought a new X-Trail 4x4 six years ago - it's been an excellent car. Very smooth ride, comfortable, quiet, spacious, reliable - great for long drives, OK off road, and has high equipment levels. But no longer available in Thailand as production shifted from Thailand to Japan. So even without the concerns about the company, I'd need to look at Honda, Mazda, Subaru (until year end) to get an equivalent 4×4 unibody SUV. Or pay much more for an imported BMW or Mercedes, or, more likely, move to a truck based SUV.

Outrageous that members of a religious minority group are not allowed to fight with armed police who are trying to protect the public from extremist members of the same religious group. The demonstrators are understandably upset that their friends were unable to exercise their immunity from assault laws in the UK. In a less developed country like Thailand people get arrested and deported for assaulting armed police ..... how uncivilised!
