  1. The ideal way is to get someone to knock you up a sandwich board and then paint on it , " Wanted Bar To Rent" and walk around Patong . Be prepared to get mobbed within a few minutes
  2. They were beating up tourists when I first came here to Patong in 2001 , nothing has changed in 22 years , always 3 or 4 of them onto 1 tourist. I can understand the tourist refusing to pay the extra as it was probably the Tuk Tuk driver who got the hotel wrong in the first place. Also if they started the journey at the top of Soi Sansibi then it would have made no difference to the distance traveled has they would have had to go all the way along Rat-U-Thit road and then all the way along beach road anyway to get back to the beginning of Rat-U-Thit road to find the correct hotel in any case.
  3. He's talking about his house overseas not his house in Thailand
  4. Nope , they just think they can charge 5% for introducing a buyer and nothing else. The transfer , documentation and completion will either all have to be done by yourself or some overpriced lawyer.
  5. When I was last in the UK 8 years ago I sold 3 of my properties. The agent came round took high quality photos , prepared a detailed sales brochure for each property , applied and paid for energy certificates for each property , advertised in the local newspaper. When each property was sold the agent dealt with everything professionally. There fee was 1% off the final sales price. I put up a villa for sale in Phuket in the same year 2015 and the sales price if I may add was much much higher than all 3 of my UK properties. An agent turned up on a motorcycle and didn't even get off it. He said you take some photos and send them to me. He then sent me a message saying he would be charging me 7% of the sales price. Other agents I rang didn't even visit the villa at all and also asked me to take and send photos to them and were asking for 5%. This is Thailand !
  6. Nope ! , the house on the land can be legally registered in the foreigners name , the land it sits on being in Thai ownership
  7. Exactly i agree . Some experts on here have no idea that the land can be in a Thai name and the house on it in a foreigners name , it can not be sold unless the foreigner agrees and signs the transfer
  8. Nonsense ! , a foreigner can own the house and therefore be registered on the title as the owner of the actual building with a Thai or a Thai enterty owning the land. This is the exact way I own my house in Thailand , the land in a Thai company and the actual house on the land in my name , all clearly registered on the title deed.
  9. It looks like a typical Thai fight , fout or five onto one , with the odd one running in with a weapon , in this case a plastic chair. Seen it all so many times before . If they want a fight , then why not a civilised straightener one on one. In my opinion put any one of these animals one on one and they will run away , this lot can only fight in a pack .
  10. Actually , good sensible advice . I too have lived here now over 20 years and had various relationships with Thai ladies and fortunately by using basic common sence not been scammed. I have seen over the years guys turn up here and do the most stupid things.
  11. Absolute nonsense , there is no roaming costs for receiving and opening an SMS whilst overseas
  12. Yes , your correct , for the very first one , there is now a requirement to provide proof the funds came from overseas .
  13. Well I am 65 and I have sex twice a week and Beat the Bishop every day
  14. Yes , it is possible , I did mine a few weeks ago , claimed back 28,765 baht , its quite easy , just go to the bank , in my case 3 different banks. Obtain a certificate of tax deducted for the past 3 years. Take this along to your " local tax office" , they will issue you a Tax ID card and after filling in tax returns for you ( fee was fir me 200 baht ) They send you a cheque which you take to Krungthai bank to cash. The whole process took me half a day .
  15. I actually saw that exact same motorbike taxi guy today , he was very near Phuket Palace in Patong , one thing i noticed immediately is he has NO Yellow Plate on that Honda PCX , just an ordinary White plate . So he isn't even a proper licensed motorbike taxi , i watched him take off like a lunatic and drive straight across Sirirat Road almost causing an accident to pick pick up a fare at the Family mart across the other side of the road
  16. That's a strange one because I have used Dmoney about 15 times to send funds from Thailand to the UK and Dmoney gave a far better rate of exchange compared to WU. Myself I am prepared to pay an extra 35 baht on the fee and wait an extra 2 days if I am getting 15% more at the other end
