Insurance for post May TP entry
Brick Top replied to ExpatOilWorker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thank you for that information Joe as I to have an extension that expires on March 1st 2023 and was also of the opinion that if I ventured outside Thailand on my return to Thailand that I would need insurance until my extension expirey date. -
This was in Phuket and 3 months ago in January there seemed to be a shortage of secondhand PCX's , so that's probably why I so many inquiries and got the full asking price
-
I sold my 2017 Honda PCX 150cc in January , it was Blue with Gold wheels , 5200 km , one owner and as brand new condition. I advertised it for 70,000 and had about 15 inquiries , it sold almost immediately for the full price of 70,000.

British passport and UK driving license renewal
Brick Top replied to Brick Top's topic in Q&A, Ask the Consular Team
What a complete idiot I am then , who in there right mind would be stupid enough to consult the British Embassy about advice on renewing a British passport. I should as you said gone directly to the Home Office for advice instead of asking the British Consular team . -
British passport and UK driving license renewal
Brick Top replied to Brick Top's topic in Q&A, Ask the Consular Team
Thanks to all who posted helpful comments on here , just to let you all know the British Embassy or Consulate Team did not even bother replying as many members had said they wouldn't. I wonder then why they advertise on here that members can ask a question directly to The British Consular Team when they dont even bother to respond in any way. -
To British Embassy What is the procedure for a UK expat living in Phuket to renew my British passport and UK driving license. I haven't been to the UK since 2012 and on that visit I renewed both my passport and license. Now I want to renew them both from Phuket. (I would request that the British Embassy answer my question and would prefer that members dont comment) Regards

AIS speeds going down hill, what's better?
Brick Top replied to scubascuba3's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Exactly , I live very high up in the mountain and dtac is non existent up here , the only one that works in my location is True , I am on my 3rd 12 month True sim now. -

Brick Top replied to scubascuba3's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Its totally dependent on your location , I have a 1 year True Sim at maximum 300 mbps , at my home I am getting 5 mbps , just along the road 1 km away I am getting 180 mbps . In the location of my home dtac is far worse than True . I have a 2 sim phone , I did a few speed tests on my dtac sim and its bearly registering at about 1 mbps. -
Retirement Visa by the 65K thb method
Brick Top replied to LatPhrao's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is certainly not the case in Phuket , I have recently renewed mine and I just needed a 12 month bank statement showing 12 monthly International transfers and a bank guarantee letter to prove it was my account -
Maybe you could start a "Go Fund Me" to try and get some help from fellow members here to recoupirate your 2 baht

Thank you for this information and advice -
90 Day Report Gone Crazy
Brick Top replied to Brick Top's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not for me its inconvenient as I live 45 minutes away from the immigration office , so that's like a 90 minute round trip and I am often outside the province when it's due , so the online system is much more convenient as its 2 mins on my laptop . -
90 Day Report Gone Crazy
Brick Top replied to Brick Top's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This is always like this in Phuket , I really dont know why as they stamp the new extension in front of you on the day you apply but then ask you to return after 1 PM the following day to collect your passport. It is I may add very inconvenient as you then have to make a second trip to the immigration office. -
Praise for Immigration
Brick Top replied to curtklay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This was in Phuket and not only do they insist on checking it , they always do a new 90 day report when they renew my extension , I have lived here since August 2001 so a little over 20 years for me. -
90 Day Report Gone Crazy
Brick Top replied to Brick Top's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I wasn't there to my 90 day report , I was there to do my retirement extension and they always take my passport for that and have to collect the following day. They always do a new 90 day report when they renew my retirement visa for some reason. -

Brick Top replied to curtklay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Dont speak to soon , I found it worked perfectly as well , did mine on Dec 7th next report date being 16 March great I thought. Then I went to immigration on February 8th to renew my retirement Visa and they insisted I hadn't done my 90 day report and told me I had to pay a fine. Showed them the online report on line , no would not listen , go pay fine they said. -
I used the new online 90 day reporting on December 7th last year , no problem at all and my next reporting date was given as 16 March 2022 , i went to Immigration on February 8th to extend my Non O based on retirement , this being my 14th retirement extension. Having all the correct paperwork when i arrived , it was all checked to be perfect by the two girls outside room 103 at Phuket immigration . I then proceed into room 103 and the officer checked everything , then i heard him ask one of the clerks to check my 90 day reporting. He then pushed all my paperwork back to me and abruptly said "you on overstay , go 101 and pay fine" , i tried to explain there was no way i was on overstay , but he would not listen saying again " go and pay fine ". Therefore i went to room 101 were there was a very long queue , i had to wait about 45 minutes and when i got served , they said why has he sent you here , your not on overstay . So then i went to a internet shop and printed out the online 90 day report receipt that showed my next appointment to be 16 March , then went back to room 103 after basically wasting 2 hours of my time . The officer said " have you been to room 101 and cleared your fine ? " i said no i am not overdue and gave him the notification , he then stormed out of room 103 into room 101 , came back about 5 minutes later and went back into to room 103 , so i was just left waiting there , then after a while i said is everything OK and he looked up and just said "OK" , no apologies of course . It gets worse when i collected my passport the next day , i was informed that they had given me a new 90 day report with a next appointment date of May 7th 2022 . Then yesterday i received an email from the new 90 Day online reporting system saying Dear XXX XXXX Your receipt for notification of "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" will be due on 16/03/2022. So then i thought well what do i do now ? , so after thinking about it , i thought well if i don't do the report again on the online system , it may show that i am on overstay and then block me from doing further on line 90 Day reports , so today i went onto the online system and did a new report . I was not sure if it would be accepted or not as it may have conflicted with the new report that was done by immigration on Feb 8th , but it went through and i immediately got an email reply saying it has been accepted . It seem there are two 90 Day systems , the immigration do in person one and the new online one , but it seems there not linked to each other , so please beware as i don't think i will be the only one with this issue.

I had a similar experience with mine , was going to try and get it repaired then I decided to just buy a new one. When the new one arrived I just happened to try the old one using the new power lead and it worked perfectly again. So try a different power lead on it first , make sure though it's the correct ampage.

Motobike rental shop insured against all risks !
Brick Top replied to Farang two dot zero's topic in Pattaya
Exactly , I have lived here 21 years and have ridden my motorbikes every day without any problems. I just ride very carefully and expect that other users on the roads are going to do the most stupid things imaginable and so prepare for it .
