  1. I actually saw that exact same motorbike taxi guy today , he was very near Phuket Palace in Patong , one thing i noticed immediately is he has NO Yellow Plate on that Honda PCX , just an ordinary White plate . So he isn't even a proper licensed motorbike taxi , i watched him take off like a lunatic and drive straight across Sirirat Road almost causing an accident to pick pick up a fare at the Family mart across the other side of the road
  2. That's a strange one because I have used Dmoney about 15 times to send funds from Thailand to the UK and Dmoney gave a far better rate of exchange compared to WU. Myself I am prepared to pay an extra 35 baht on the fee and wait an extra 2 days if I am getting 15% more at the other end
  3. Update to above : I received an SMS today informing me everything was ok now and I didn't need the facial recognition. So I go to my SCB app and try and guess what , exactly the same , I can't do it , same message comes up saying , the bank does not have my facial recognition and I need to go to the bank with my ID.
  4. I have had a similar experience but worse , about a month ago I went to the Bangkok bank to get the facial recognition done , in and out in 10 mins all done. The next stop Krungsri bank , again in and out very quickly , no problems. Then off to my 3rd bank the SCB , waited 30 minutes in the queue, then I was told , this is for Thai people only , foreigners don't need to do. Then on July 5 , I got the message on my app that I now needed to get the facial recognition done as from July 4 it said. So , then I tried to make a transfer for exactly 50,000 to my Bangkok bank , rejected. The app then informed me to change the settings in my app to allow me to transfer up to 200,000 without the facial recognition. Tried that , again rejected saying the bank does not have my photo in there system. Then I went to the bank, same lady as before , she says I need to call the call center as she cant organise the facial recognition for foreigners. I explained the app told me to come to bank , again she said " can not , but you can come to the bank if you need to make a transfer ". Then phoned the call center again , was told I would need to sign some documents waving the banks responsibly if my money goes missing. I had no choice but to sign , the lady then told me it would take 3 days for head office to consider .
  5. Next time when your Keyboard Warrioring put your glasses on so at least that way your not making yourself look like a complete <deleted>
  6. <deleted> ! I susgest you yourself read it all over again , he mentions there going to build a house on the land. Also were did I write false information ?
  7. Wow , you taught me something I learned 22 years ago when I bought my Villa in Phuket and set up a Thai Company , everyone knows its illegal but so is prostitution here and I have never had any problems with it
  8. He could as my friend did sell the land to a newly formed Thai company and become the sole director and therefore be able to control that company. He then could also register any house on that land into his own name or another option get the Thai company to give him a 30 year lease on the land to further secure it.
  9. Incorrect , he can legally own the house and have it registered in his name but not the land
  10. I had two private pensions one with Prudential and one with Commercial Union . When I reached 50 in 2008 , I telephoned Prudential and they informed me I could merge both pensions together and then put them in there "With Profits Pension Scheme" and take the pension immediately at 50 years old. They gave me a lump sum equivalent to 25% of both the pensions and I have been receiving a good monthly pension ever since for the past 15 years. It gives me a return of around 7% of what the remaining 75% of what my pension was worth in 2008 . I found the whole process very easy to do on the phone and by email with Prudential.
  11. I am from the UK , a UK gallon is equivalent to 4.54 liters . My PCX does 120 MPG around Phuket with all the Hills and traffic ect and I am 100 kg , i expect on a long run it would do around 130 mpg
  12. 4183 Kilometers ÷ 1.6 = 2614 miles. 108 liters ÷ 4.54 = 23.78 gallons. 2614 ÷ 23.78 = 109.92 It works out at 109.92 miles per gallon , my PCX does more than that 120 MPG
  13. Oh that ones easy , it means " Game for a Ladyboy"
  14. For those in the know it's a Bisexual sign , it's to let other guys know you swing both ways. In the 60s guys would were Jean's with turn ups to let everyone know they were a Swinger
  15. For people in the know it's a Bi- Sexual thing , it's to let other guys know you swing both ways
  16. Considering I had a fleet of of 5 lorries back in the UK and have had a HGV license since 1979 I absolutely know what I am talking about. It is yourself who has just shown your compleate ignorance of how air assisted brakes operate. Have you ever even driven a heavy goods vehicle ? , I use to drive from Porstmouth in the UK across by ferry into Le Harve in France then through to Bordeaux , into Spain and was often away 3 weeks at time driving through continental Europe. So I feel highly insulted by your comment. If you had ever even driven even a small 7.5 ton lorry you would realise if that if you keep depressing the braks an alarm will sound warning you that your air is running low for the air assisted brakes. There is also an air gauge showing your air pressure , if you keep continuing depressing the brakes while descending a hill the air pressure wont have enough time to repressurise by the compressor. This is one of the first things we are taught when taking our 3 week HGV course . If I were you I would delete your comment as your embarrassing yourself with your complete lack of knowledge either that or your one of these trolls who get off on trying to wind people up behind a keyboard.
  17. I have lived in Patong 22 years and the amount of times I have seen the same type of accidents on that stretch of the hill involving large lorries is just ridiculous. They are constantly using the air brakes instead of engine breaking all the way down from the temple 2 km away. By the time they get to the last bend descending into Patong of course they have completely run out of air and can't stop thus these dreadful accidents keep occurring time after time. Why on earth are they allowed to drive these big lorries and busses without the simple knowledge of engine breaking. If that lorry had been in 2nd gear descending that last section of the hill he could have easily negotiated those bends under full control of the lorry.
  18. Why put total nonsense on here , this forum is meant to help people , not bull<deleted> them
  19. No you dont , I sent a screenshot of the bank Information
  20. No , you do not have to go to the bank
  21. Yes , that is what the bank told me 3 years ago , since then mind I have strated sending funds back to the UK without using my paperwork via the SCB banking app. Last time I used the SCB app for International transfer , I sent 2 Million baht without any problems at all or paperwork. The app informed me my remaining money limit was in fact 5 Million . So if I were you I would try one of the banks apps first. I have also used Dmoney without paperwork but there daily limit was 800,000. The funds I sent using the SCB app arrived in the UK the same day.
  22. It's not $50,000 that is incorrect and only applies if you have no paperwork. I recently sent 13.5 Million in one transfer , I was however required to provide proof that I had previously transferred that amount into Thailand. I did that by showing the bank several Torta Sam's and credit advices (FET) showing I had transferred more than 13.5 Million into Thailand from previous years , some were dated 2004.
