Used Vehicle Transfer Registration HELP
Brick Top replied to GeDocjerry's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
That Information is incorrect. In August 2023 , I flew to Bangkok from Phuket and bought a 2022 Toyota Yaris from a private Thai man. He gave me a signed copy of his ID and signed a power of attorney and signed transfer of ownership form. Also the Blue registration book , the car was registered in Bangkok . I then immediately drove that car back to Phuket , then went to the local transport office and registered the car in my name. Three days later I collected the Blue book and a brand new set of Phuket registration plates and a new road tax label now showing the new Phuket registration number . I had to return the old Bangkok plates to the Phuket transport office that same day. -
You would then have only 6 years of NI contributions , you require 35 full years to receive the full UK state pension

Same as the UK , freeloaders win hands down

In the UK , I was self employed from 1982 to retiring here in 2004. I had paid over £400,000 in income tax. I am entitled to receive my UK pension when I am 66 next year, when I checked I was entitled to £76 a week. I was told I had missing weeks in my National Insurance records. So I back paid from my own money £13,800 , now i am still not entitled to full pension as some years prior to 2006 I only had 49, 50 and 51 weeks instead of 52. Those shortfalls cant be paid as can only go back to 2006. This means I will still only have 32 full years instead of the 35 full years to get the full state pension. Whilst those who have either never worked or been in the role must of there life will get the full state pension. Then on top of this UK pensions are frozen from the date you reach retirement age if you reside in Thailand. This is the UK Government for you , totol shambles

Renew Retirement Visa in Phuket
Brick Top replied to John Phuket's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Also , they have always requested this from me for my last 16 extensions. I am on the 65,000 per month way , they told me its because they want proof of how I access my pension funds. -

The ideal way is to get someone to knock you up a sandwich board and then paint on it , " Wanted Bar To Rent" and walk around Patong . Be prepared to get mobbed within a few minutes

Patong tuk-tuk drivers charged after assault on tourist
Brick Top replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
They were beating up tourists when I first came here to Patong in 2001 , nothing has changed in 22 years , always 3 or 4 of them onto 1 tourist. I can understand the tourist refusing to pay the extra as it was probably the Tuk Tuk driver who got the hotel wrong in the first place. Also if they started the journey at the top of Soi Sansibi then it would have made no difference to the distance traveled has they would have had to go all the way along Rat-U-Thit road and then all the way along beach road anyway to get back to the beginning of Rat-U-Thit road to find the correct hotel in any case. -

Agents commissions
Brick Top replied to Somros's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Nope , they just think they can charge 5% for introducing a buyer and nothing else. The transfer , documentation and completion will either all have to be done by yourself or some overpriced lawyer. -
Agents commissions
Brick Top replied to Somros's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
When I was last in the UK 8 years ago I sold 3 of my properties. The agent came round took high quality photos , prepared a detailed sales brochure for each property , applied and paid for energy certificates for each property , advertised in the local newspaper. When each property was sold the agent dealt with everything professionally. There fee was 1% off the final sales price. I put up a villa for sale in Phuket in the same year 2015 and the sales price if I may add was much much higher than all 3 of my UK properties. An agent turned up on a motorcycle and didn't even get off it. He said you take some photos and send them to me. He then sent me a message saying he would be charging me 7% of the sales price. Other agents I rang didn't even visit the villa at all and also asked me to take and send photos to them and were asking for 5%. This is Thailand ! -
Nonsense ! , a foreigner can own the house and therefore be registered on the title as the owner of the actual building with a Thai or a Thai enterty owning the land. This is the exact way I own my house in Thailand , the land in a Thai company and the actual house on the land in my name , all clearly registered on the title deed.

A great video for BBW admirers

It looks like a typical Thai fight , fout or five onto one , with the odd one running in with a weapon , in this case a plastic chair. Seen it all so many times before . If they want a fight , then why not a civilised straightener one on one. In my opinion put any one of these animals one on one and they will run away , this lot can only fight in a pack .

How To Avoid The 'Wham Bam, Thank You' Scam
Brick Top replied to Brewster67's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Actually , good sensible advice . I too have lived here now over 20 years and had various relationships with Thai ladies and fortunately by using basic common sence not been scammed. I have seen over the years guys turn up here and do the most stupid things.
