  1. I always tip generously to the Grab Food drivers because the restaurants make them wait forever sometimes and they get like 30 baht for the whole delivery and also with gas prices going up etc.. Majority of the time, they seem grateful and give me a wai and polite thank you. I think most people don't tip them or give much if they do. At restaurants, it's hit or miss if they seem appreciative even of a generous tip. I don't give for thanks or to be appreciated, just what I feel is fair for the service provided.
  2. He's saying they cancelled it, not complaining about how long it took.
  3. Should be no problem to get a new debit card for ~300 baht from any Bangkok Bank branch of withdraw with your passport+bankbook. You will pay an extra fee on every withdrawal as it is considered an out of area withdrawal since you opened the account in CM and you'll be in Phuket.
  4. I assume you are talking about the emergency decree and not just specifically masks. Besides Bangkok and some provinces in Isan, nobody really gives a <deleted> about wearing masks or fears COVID anymore. Pattaya and Phuket and the islands, barely anyone is wearing them outside or most places besides 7-11 and shopping malls. If that's their plan, it's a big fail.
  5. Haha, not sure if sarcasm or not but the attacker and the victim are both Brits. Attacker's name is Sean Anthony Daly so it's probably good you didn't jump the gun as I take it you were expecting something much different.
  6. If you accept a settlement, no but if it goes to court then the judge can certainly sentence the attacker to a jail term and also require that he pay financial compensation to the victim.
  7. Apparently the doctors have said he is not fit to fly as the air pressure at high altitudes can worsen the injury.
  8. Should have asked for an autograph, he's world famous now. Surprised the BBC picked this up but this is good as Thai Police will be even more pressured to impose harsh penalties on the attacker who apparently has retained a lawyer and only offered 100k out of what will be an estimated 800k procedure. Interesting how in this article he says he really wants to go home now but previously he was saying he wanted to stay here, especially until he can get a visa for the lady he met here to come back to the UK with him.
  9. Yeah real stupid of them to let the guy go, wouldn't surprise me at all if someone higher up involved with tourism got involved. With the additional charges now, let's hope this guy goes away for a long time.
  10. Like someone else said TOPS supermarkets should work for chip and pin. 7-11 has never worked for me even with a local bank's debit card.
  11. Yes, 30 days only once. After that, you can do a COVID extension for 60 days, they were just extended for another 60 days.
  12. Yes you are the proof in regards to your brain. It's none of your business why he needs to use them, if they are available and granted, that's the end of it. If I wasn't on an Elite visa, I would be using them too for as long as they would grant me one.
  13. The person who handles appointments. They said blood allergy test only. Looks like I'll be making a trip to Bangkok then, thank you.
  14. Clotrimazole is the main ingredient in Canesten which the OP has already indicated doesn't work for him.
  15. That's the hospital that told me no UVB band therapy and no patch allergy testing, blood only, which is not what I need ???? Thank you though.
  16. What about Pattaya? Even the big hospitals don't seem to have many treatment options. No UVB Band therapy, don't even do a patch allergy test.
  17. You're not sure yet you go on to give a definitive statement. I disagree with you, a lot of crimes are crimes of opportunity and a routine police presence can and does prevent/reduce them. When they setup a police tent on beach road and also did frequent round ups of loiterers there, there was a significant reduction in crime, especially against tourists. Confessing in Thailand usually reduces your sentence quite a bit.
  18. Worldwide, many police do patrols. Those can and do prevent and catch crime/criminals. Obviously they don't have the resources to be everywhere at once so focus on areas of high crime.
  19. Or gives you access to nothing except maybe a few already free streams and your money is gone with no recourse.
  20. The post I quoted said Internet banking. You are able to reset your password for Bangkok Bank Internet banking at an ATM, I've done it. ATM PINs are never done by SMS which is what they told him to wait for so he was obviously not talking about his ATM PIN.
  21. You can reset your pin and get a new one at any Bangkok Bank ATM. Or keep waiting I guess, might still come one day.
  22. Every time I've tried to dial this and reach them, the wait times are just ridiculous. Think I waited almost an hour once, the other times around 30 minutes before giving up. That said, I have had no problems using the mobile banking app or internet banking the past few days, or making payments using my debit card.
  23. Yeah the guy needed 60 stitches and could have been blinded because someone couldn't wait their turn, not sure what's funny about that. The guy actually had a hold of the attacker too but chose to let him go it looks like if you watch the video when he could have easily beaten him to a pulp.
