  1. Actually Thais usually confess because it halves the sentence automatically when they do, in most cases.
  2. You can check the list of their approved/authorized agents https://www.thailandelite.com/agent/
  3. Definitely a scam but if all you needed to do is sign in to not lose it then you'd be safe anyway, just NEVER click links through emails, go directly by typing it in manually.
  4. Only reason I'll miss Hooters is because it's the only place in Pattaya that I found that does a really good Bloody Mary/Caesar with the celery, olives, bacon strip etc.. although not cheap at 399 or something. Went several times and the ladies were friendly sometimes but nothing special that would make me want to revisit just for them.
  5. Did a transfer with Wise a few hours ago to BKK bank, got the money in seconds.
  6. Contact them directly and ask if the email is legitimate and that you'd prefer to provide the information requested in a more secure way.
  7. With their masks on whenever they go out, probably can pass as Thai.
  8. No. Your application just goes to Thailand immigration for approval.
  9. It's possible that the background check might include something like Interpol notices but no, they can't do a Canadian background check on you and you certainly aren't gonna be blacklisted if you get a refusal and haven't committed any major overstays or offenses in Thailand. There's a reason so many people who are convicted criminals in their country escape to Thailand. Also you don't pay until/unless you are approved so nothing to lose by applying.
  10. Kratom, produces opioid- and stimulant-like effects. Not illegal in Thailand.
  11. By law, it needs to be done within 24 hrs upon arrival to your hotel or rental residence and anytime your permanent address changes after that but hotels will pretty much always do one even if you have a permanent residence and are just staying one night. Unless you go to immigration for an extension, landlords and tenants get away with not doing it 99% of the time. Although recently a few Chinese "tourists" were fined 4000 THB each for not doing their TM30 after their residence was raided and nothing else illegal was found to charge them with.
  12. Yeah you can do it yourself as Possessor of the residence. Here's the form: https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/simple-file-list2/form-download/TM30-New.pdf Or let the owner know he gets fined for not doing TM30s when/if tenants go to do an extension and he can easily set it up to do them online.
  13. Safest to have it in hand. There have been reports of IOs not accepting anything but cash in hand when enforcing the requirement.
  14. Yes, there is a message on the app too saying that you can only have the app active on one device. You have the option in the settings of deleting/removing devices.
  15. Although not reporting one’s residence to Immigration is often ignored by tourists Big Joke has pledged to crackdown on this rule in particular, especially for Chinese nationals. Pretty clear that this is a case of not finding/having anything criminally serious to charge them with and just luckily finding something minor to justify the raids and not lose face.
  16. Visa agent wouldn't even get out of bed for 100 baht, usually 500 for a 90 day report, maybe 300 if you drop off and pick up the passport at the agent's office yourself.
  17. Not flawed. The goal is to somewhat help keep track or a footprint of people staying here for the long term. People traveling outside Thailand are not who they are interested in.
  18. I could tell my bag was opened and gone through on a long distance bus journey in Thailand. There was a dodgy looking guy sitting there, arranging the bags. Luckily I didn't have anything valuable in it.
  19. Knowing someone who just recently got the emergency extension, it's highly likely you will not get it without an already booked flight out of Thailand within those days. As someone else said, it is not an automatic type of extension like the initial 30 day one is. Good luck.
  20. Many agents will assist you in opening a bank account for a fee if you are unable to get a long term visa at the moment.
  21. As I understand it, once the divorce was finalized legally, your marriage visa became invalid irregardless of the expiry date of your current permission to stay so you are now on overstay and subject to a minimum one year ban and 20k fine depending on if you are able to leave voluntarily before being tracked down and arrested or not. The same thing if you have a work permit but quit/get fired or an ED visa but stop studying.
