  1. While TrueMoney wallet was still working for me, it was very convenient to use it at 7-11. As far as I know and have been told at some stores awhile ago, you can't use regular scan to pay there (Bank apps/PromptPay), does anyone know if this is the case? I rarely go to 7-11 or I'd ask again myself.
  2. It's not the payment by phone apps that are the scourge, it's the technical incompetence or ignorance of people trying to use them. I pay with my phone via the Bangkok Bank app very frequently and daily and it takes less than a minute. I have it set to not ask for a PIN for small transactions, face unlock for the phone and Bangkok Bank app so I usually have it ready to go before the cashier even gets the QR code to show on the terminal and then it's just a quick scan and confirm and I'm ready to go before my receipt is even printed out.
  3. I initially did as well and used it for years with only that but then they put out some new anti-money laundering regulations not too long ago and required you to video call and show pink ID, thai driver's license or citizenship to keep using it so I just stopped using it. Similar to what they have now done with PayPal Thailand if you want to hold a balance.
  4. Same airport, same airline, I don't see any reason why you would need to go through immigration. Air Asia will probably give you your boarding passes for both flights when you check in at the Cambodian airport unless you have a super long layover at DMK. By some rare chance that you do need to go through immigration, with an onward ticket, you staying 2.5 years on covid extensions has no relevance.
  5. TrueWallet only works with vendors who accept it. It isn't like the scan to pay PromptPay transfer that the bank apps use. Also TrueWallet requires a pink card or Thai driver's license I think if you're not a Thai citizen.
  6. I have a motion/sound detection camera that I turn on for safe of mind whenever I leave my apartment for long periods. I can see the live feed from my phone and it sends a push notification when it detects lound sounds or motion. I also have my most important valuables tied down to a steel pole in a portable pacsafe. Yes I have caught staff entering with the camera unexpectedly and caught one going through my things.
  7. I take l-theanine and also GABA. L-theanine is good to take during the day if you need to feel a sense of calm and GABA is more to take at night to help you sleep. I used to take Melatonin only and it did work for me for the most part but I prefer L-theanine and GABA. Bought at one of the drug stores in the ground level of Central Festival Pattaya, they have it showing in the store window.
  8. Will never understand why people care so much or worry about what other people put on their face or not.
  9. Sad to see all the victim blamers. Pattaya is a tourist city, as much as people who come for other reasons don't think so. Walking Street is a major tourist attraction and it's open late. Not every single women walking there at 3AM or any time is a prostitute and even the ones that are, you can't just grope them all freely. Those saying it's a setup, there's CCTV evidence of what he did and he seemed more than willing from the start to just pay for everything to go away rather than any protests about a setup or even attempts to deny what he did after he was caught.
  10. I wouldn't access this forum or any other site with intrusive ads on my phone and I will leave it at that. Accessing it on my laptop, I have no issues. In my opinion, it will drive away some users and whoever makes the decisions should have just stuck with sponsored posts or maybe a few banners but they have all the data and if there is no traffic decrease after they were implemented, then they are here to stay.
  11. I get daily notifications sent to my phone that shows my balance and check on the app often. I don't bother with the monthly statements.
  12. Still receive tons of spam/scams from the days when you were supposed to scan QR codes when entering places.
  13. It was revenge for all the gold chains they lost while here.
  14. The question is, what exactly happens if you are one of these lucky randoms who test positive. I can see this becoming an issue for some, especially with the insurance requirement being dropped.
  15. Yeah they must as I just read that is why Wise does that, because it costs them to hold EUR right now. Seems like Australia also has a fee for holding large amounts.
  16. Yeah it was more of a rhetorical question because I've never heard of any financial service doing that. I regularly keep amounts much larger than that in my Wise account and have not received this email or ever had money deducted so seems to only be for EUR accounts for now. Hopefully they don't expand it.
  17. You mean they will deduct money from you? That's strange.
  18. If you're from the US, you might get more refusals as it's a lot more paperwork to open one for them.
  19. Better for him to just finish that way so he can't prolong the rape in other ways is why I assume she would do that.
