Don't diss my folks! Thai man did and paid with his life
Ohyesuare replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Or for everyone to be polite to everyone in the world in general. There are many people anywhere who can just snap one day. -
Contact Kasikorn bank from abroad
Ohyesuare replied to Lolothai's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
You just call the same number but you'll have to pay long distance charges. Sure Skype or similar services have cheap calling rates to Thailand. Have you tried using your Thai SIM in France? Mine is still able to receive SMS in Canada, DTAC has a roaming agreement there. -
Happening all over the world unfortunately. It's either raise the price or shrink the size or in many cases, they do both,

Covid extensions after March 25?
Ohyesuare replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not a definite but the wording exclusively forbidding it is not in the new order so it's worth a shot to try and apply. -
Covid extensions after March 25?
Ohyesuare replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's worth a shot to try for a covid extension if you've had a Non-O, Non-ED etc.. according to the changes in the new order. I read this: "people on Non-Immigrant type visas or extensions CAN now apply for the 60 day covid extension (the previous program they could not) You need to fill out the form stating your embassy doesn't issue a letter asking for you to get an extension and you should be able to apply for a 60 day covid extension now for 1900baht." -
There pretty much has been for awhile now at most of them. Some you also have a time limit and if you order a ton and leave a bunch uneaten, they charge you.

Changing B Visa to Medical visa
Ohyesuare replied to Tom Vanderlay's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you're going with an agent anyway for the medical extension, talk to them about the 800k requirement as well first. -
Covid extensions after March 25?
Ohyesuare replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The next few days/weeks will tell and as always, the individual IOs have shown to be inconsistent in how they choose to interpret the order. -
Covid extensions after March 25?
Ohyesuare replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I believe the same rules stand for people on Non-O, Non-ED, VOA etc... not being able to get a CE anymore. Also I have my doubts that the 7 day "extension" can be reversed once given. -
Covid extension issues?
Ohyesuare replied to ChomDo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They always leave it until the very last minute. Day before or even day of at times. The "free" amnesty was announced even after the deadline when many had already left the country or sought Education/Volunteer visas which was actually recommended by someone in immigration for people who needed/wanted to stay longer if I remember correctly. -
Covid extensions after March 25?
Ohyesuare replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Jealousy from expats on retirement visas who think they have more of a right to be here than others because they're 50+ it seems like. Some people are just bitter too and need something to complain about because they don't have much else going on. It's a waste of time and energy in my opinion to try and understand the motivations behind these types of people and you find them everywhere. Talk to any business owner in a tourist city and they'll only have good things to say about the extensions as it has kept some of them afloat the past few years. I hope any person who wants to stay here and contribute to the economy gets to stay as long as they're legally allowed to if they are following all the laws and rules. -

Covid extensions after March 25?

So you obtained a COVID extension while on a Non-O, seems like you might have got lucky. What immigration office was this? -
GrabFood still does. For the delivery driver and the restaurant,.

Richard Barrow receives the British Empire Medal (BEM)
Ohyesuare replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You must not visit this forum much. You can expect any post about him to go this way. Seems like a combination of jealousy, bitterness, ignorance (the anti-vaxxers, covid just a flu types) because he publishes the daily numbers etc.. If hotels and companies want to offer him free stuff in exchange for publicity, you can't really blame him for taking them up on the offer, that's what the majority of people on social media with large followings are doing these days. I've followed him on twitter and then his other account ThaiNewsReports, which I find much more useful, for the past few years and his information about immigration issues and vaccines were very helpful so I have nothing bad to say about the guy. Since I'm now triple vaxxed, the number of COVID cases not really mattering anymore in terms of restrictions and in the process of getting my Elite Visa, I don't feel a need to check his twitter accounts anymore but happy he is getting some recognition for the helpful things he has done. -
You're entitled to open a bank account even without an Elite Visa so having one makes no difference in that regard. All TE does is send someone with you to a branch they have a partnership/understanding with to hold your hand through the process. You still get the same foreigner account with the same restrictions as anyone else not holding an EV does.

An extra person to go after if you were handing out dodgy notes and fled the country I guess. -
non immigrant o visa or tourist visa?
Ohyesuare replied to tezzaaa's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Should be plenty of time still to apply for an e-visa non-o to visit wife/child of Thai nationality. -
Extension for Russian passport holders
Ohyesuare replied to zugzug123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Russian banks are linking up with Chinese UnionPay, not sure how long that will take though. -
I think the ones going for the right reasons are very brave. If Russia gets away with Ukraine, who knows where they'll stop while continuing to use their threat of nukes. You can keep saying it's not your problem until it eventually is. Plus you get citizenship after and I'm sure are treated very well by a grateful population when they win.
