  1. Not even. It is switching to be strictly a way to shop at merchants that accept PayPal if you're an individual.
  2. I've called and spoke to their Thai customer service. You are correct but in addition, since you won't be able to receive money or keep a balance, you obviously won't be able to send funds to individuals either. So yes, your account will be fine otherwise if you accept their relaunch agreement and go through their verification but it will be useless to many of us who use it receive payments and transfer it to our thai bank, send money or hold a balance while waiting for a better exchange rate.
  3. The emails usually get sent out in waves. I haven't received one yet either.
  4. Try BlockFi, they send direct to bank accounts and also give you really good interest rates on crypto.
  5. Take any antibiotic only as prescribed and finish the full course or you risk not clearing whatever you are taking it for and just making it resistant to further treatment instead.
  6. Do you know if it's physical mail or an email they are sending out?
  7. You are correct, I never have but I will soon and confirm it myself. Love you Lou ❤️
  8. Or won't pay out if you get rejected and redo your application by omitting the thing you got rejected for. Sure that can be tracked/looked up by an investigator looking to not payout on a claim.
  9. You won't be able to receive funds on a personal account, verified or not. You will be able to shop with your TH credit card anywhere that accepts PayPal as a payment option. Basically useless to many of us I'm guessing.
  10. But this is totally the opposite of what Franz from PayPal messaging told @Liverpool Lou How can that be?? In all seriousness, thank you for taking the long half an hour to confirm it.
  11. I'm convinced that the CEO of PayPal could tell him in person that his verified personal PayPal account will not be able to be used to receive payments or hold a balance in March of next year and he'd still refuse to believe it. But no, a PayPal chat/message operator who can barely speak English and is making $2 an hour to respond with a pre-made script is who he chooses to believe. Very humorous.
  12. Well touche, Franz sounds like quite the expert on the matter. He is correct that if you already meet the ID requirements then there are no "changes need to make" and your account will automatically transition to PayPal Thailand in March 2022. In regards to as you normally use it though, almost everyone on this thread seem to agree with me that even already verified personal accounts will not be able to hold a balance or receive payments once it is transitioned to the "New PayPal Thailand". This is in line with all the other "anti money laundering" steps Thailand has and is taking recently. I don't know why you keep engaging with me though, it's obvious that neither of us will be able convince the other. And trust me, I find the current PayPal Thailand very convenient for me the way it is and I'd love for you to be correct but unfortunately, that just doesn't seem to be the case. I guess we will find out for sure next year though ????
  13. It's very easy to get locked out of your PayPal just using it legitimately and normally, using a VPN is an almost guaranteed way to get it locked.
  14. Credit card only actually, no debit cards if it's a personal or non registered business account.
  15. Wow, carry on believing what you wish to be true but I literally quoted you two direct statements from PayPal's own site that specifically says that existing personal or unregistered business accounts that have not gone through the KYB process created before March 2021 will NOT be able to hold a balance or receive payments after February 2022. Yes if they are verified, personal and unregistered accounts that have not gone through the KYB process will still be "valid" and automatically converted to the NEW PayPal Thailand which basically only lets you shop at stores that accept PayPal. That's what the link, again from PAYPAL's own site, says. If you want yet another source that you will not read and ignore and continue to believe what you want regardless, https://www.dailynews.co.th/news/449244/ literally says at the top: The end of the freelance line? Paypal Thailand has released a new policy. People can't 'suspend money'.... "Paypal Thailand releases new policy for general users, no longer able to 'hold money' in their accounts...." Keep believing what you wish and good luck with your account after February 2022.
  16. It's quoted in the first post but you can see yourself from this link: https://www.paypal.com/th/webapps/mpp/thailand-relaunch-faq Note, holders of PayPal personal accounts or business accounts that are not registered business in Thailand will not be able to receive payments or hold a PayPal balance in PayPal Thailand. Will there be changes to my account after the relaunch of PayPal Thailand? Yes, there will be some changes. * See details below: PayPal personal accounts will not be able to hold a balance or withdraw funds.
  17. This one: https://www.bot.or.th/English/PressandSpeeches/Press/2020/Pages/n3563.aspx
  18. If you read the terms linked in the first post, any personal/non registered business account created before March 2021 is affected and will not be able to receive payments or hold a balance after February 2022.
  19. If you're not a registered business in Thailand that has passed the KYB verification, you will not be able to receive payments or hold a balance in your personal account, verified or not, after February 2022. Looks like PayPal in Thailand is basically becoming useless. Thailand is pushing hard with their anti-money laundering stuff lately so this is just in line with everything else they are doing like making TrueWallet harder to use for foreigners.
  20. I think he only has an issue with the one pointing right at the pool, loungers. Would you want some falang in the UK flogging the dolphin to your wife in a bikini sitting by the pool? I hope the villas I stayed at didn't have cameras pointed at the pool with the stuff I got up to with the girlfriend.
  21. I would do it, the <deleted> piece of paper certificate they gave me won't last a month.
  22. At least 30 gives them wiggle room when the ones who for some reason had to visit an ATM on the way to the police station are no longer included in the amount.
  23. Mastercard/Visa Debit card works fine with Netflix. Or buy the cards at 7-11, it's the same price either way. Since Bangkok Bank blocked all international transactions after all those people lost money, I had to buy a Netflix e-gift card on amazon and renew my membership using a VPN which cost me a few bucks more than it does in Thailand but I rarely go to 7-11 and didn't want to make a special trip just for that.
  24. Just think of it as units as the other person said and not kwh. Always check the meter yourself and take your own photos, it's a little strange the first picture is so blurry and the second is crystal clear. If the person renting to you rents more than 5 units, it's illegal to charge more than the government rate but who is gonna fight that over 700 baht.
