I don't think it is laziness I think, in part it is because the education system is screwed up. Not just here but in other countries. as well. You can not expect people o learn a language if they only use it for 50 minutes a day at most. One of the problems I have is tutoring kids to do the homework and then forget it. This do-and-dump is also prevalent in the U.S> and North America. If you look at the high-end schools or schools that have an English-only curriculum the kids come out of it great. It is like those that teach in schools. The ability is there it is just a matter of showing them the need for it.

Pattaya Traffic Police crackdown on Bolt drivers
kingstonkid replied to Social Media's topic in Pattaya News
Every police force in the world has traffic police and police that deal in larger crime. It seems that you want to make Thailand like California, where no law is enforced if it is minor. Do you really think that if they let people drive without a license or shoplift in stores things will be better and the police officers that are not doing traffic stops will be good police officers for investigating major crimes? Police officers in every country and city start in the same lace walking a beat and looking after the community. Checking driver's licence and arresting drunk drivers or people that do minor <deleted>. Imagine if there wre not beat cops what it would be like. OH WAIT I KNOW you complaining that the police are not doing their job and looking after the tourists Don't forget these guys with no licence also have o meter therefore they are ripping tourists off., and if there is no way to identify the car anything can happen. It is part of the system. -
Thai Alcohol Control Committee opposes selling booze till 4 AM
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai police will still have to maintain checks on businesses because if you let them stay open until 4 they will be serving breakfast to customers at 6 along with another beer. Something that is not taken into consideration is a. how do these people get home at 4 all the transit systems are shut down. b the longer hours that people are going to have to work c. what is an entertainment area and how does it affect the people living near it. Are there going to be a lot of people showing up at 3 to get a girl in NANA I question whether it will make a difference for bars that is financially profitable once they have to find staff and pay extra bills. I do not see it being a bon to NANA or Cowboy I really don ot see it being a boon to the small bars in villages. -
Just on patpobg 1. My apologies you can get mixed drinks. Anyway the news on the soi is that the bar I referred to is open sort of chairs are up but big screen tv for football This bar is supposed to open on the first. There is supposed to be a night market at the silom entrance starting 5 December. Raining there so not a lot of foot traffic for bars

Court Accepts Cannabis Lawsuit Against Anutin, ONCB
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think you need to check your definitions Farang does not mean white it means A foreigner. Foreigner means person born in or coming from a country other than one's own. Tht can mean anyone that is not Thai -
no there was the bar across fromtip top not sure it ever had a name had tables on the inside and outside of the building. It did not have any ladies looking for lady drinks. Just good music and sold hard liquor.

There still needs to be rules The ability for somchai to sell a product he reports to be marijuana by simply putting it on blanket on Suk is not what was meant. Anutin screwed the pooch. Yes, it is going to be hard to put the Genie all the way back into the bottle, but I think there still needs to be restraint especially if the purpose was to auth medical use. -

I agree with most of what you say HOWEVER, Anutin was the problem. He was in such a hurry to be the HERO that he did not think it through. I compare it to drinking Imagine if you took a country and said okay, drinking is legal with no rules. If Anutin's advisers had been on the ball, they would have looked at the issues and not only legalized it but established some of the parameters before or at the same time. If they did not talk to the medical community or others officially or unofficially, they were derelict in their duty. It is called Due diligence, and every action has a reaction. Imagine if they passed a law that sex was legal anywhere in Thailand. What would the side streets and nooks and crannies of NANA be like -
The feeling that I see and hear is the difference between the monarchs. People tend to forget that you are not standing for the person but out of respect for the institution. I went through many governments in Canada, whereas a voter, I hated the PM and, at times, had little respect for some of the officers I worked for. I still saluted them and paid them appropriate respect due to their position and rank.

Court Accepts Cannabis Lawsuit Against Anutin, ONCB
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There has to rule Even in countries where it is legal, there are still rules about the sale. Also, it is a taxable sale in countries where it is legal. The catch to all this is that there were no restrictions put on the sale and there was no set agreement it seems that the people that wanted it legalized had set parameters. Anutin in his stupidity and following along with all the great things he did with covid just said to hell with it lets take it off the books and let anyone sell, smoke, grow and harvest, YOu can not do that there need to be rules on where how, and who can sell. Not only to limit the sale but also to ensure the quality of the product. The last thing any country needs is someone selling <deleted> pot or pot with a kick. because something else is in it. I can remember buying what I thought was good stuff only to find that it was twigs and <deleted>. also with the level of THC these days there needs to be a control. Thailand has enough trouble with drunk farang that it really does not need to deal with the pot head-stoned farang Again I am not against legal medical use I am just against some kid sitting on the side of the street selling it to whoever wants to buy not knowing what they are buying. -
The problem is that a lot of these ladies is that they look better with their hair down. I do agree, though that the one on the right is overall prettier.

Court Accepts Cannabis Lawsuit Against Anutin, ONCB

There are a couple of issues with the leagalization. Reading on here and the news the legalization was supposed to be for medical reasons which is not a huge issue. I am aware and support CBD if used in medical issues. The problem was that anutin and the PPP removed it and left it to the wild wild west style of action. If this had been done properly and the medical community had had their input and were listened to. If when it was legalized, it was legalized with the rules in place. Imagine if they had opened up the toll way to motorcycles. Fact that Anutin was seen as a great thing, and most people at first thought did not care. The problem was that there was not rules and we ended up with everyone and anyone selling the product and no control. Remember, this is the same Anutin that said everyone should wear masks and got upset and said that Farang should not be allowed in the country The solution is simple and is somewhere else. I think that the lawsuit is what is felt to be the best tool to get Anutin and his people off their assets and start taking the action that they want. As to many people being upset, I think there are more people upset with the way it was opened than those trying to benefit from it. -

What I find upsetting is that people ask for advice get the advice and do not seem to act on the advice of the experts and are all looking fo the quick and shady way of doing things -
Entering Thailand after deportation

Sorry read the other post sort of on same topic first. My apologies. -
OP tis is 7 years old but may help you understand. No. We understand that you are talking about the land attached to the townhouse and that answer is for that: 1. There is no law to limit the age of the owner of the land. So technically, your son could be the owner of the land. However, the land departments have a lot of discretion to accept or not transactions. Because your son is a baby, they might want the mother to be the owner first, and then, the mother can give the land to the child. 2. However, once a child is the owner of the land, a child can NOT lease it to anyone EXCEPT with the authorization of the Court. You will find these limitations about real estate and children at clause 1574 of the Thai Commercial and Civil Code. Yours is 1574 (1). A lease between husband and wife might also be refused by the land department. Few years ago, it was easier, right now, the land department will normally agree on the registration of a usufruct but will refuse a lease between legal spouses https://www.thaicontracts.com/ask/28-other-questions/62-is-it-possible-to-buy-house-in-my-thai-son-s-name-and-then-lease.html#:~:text=There is no law to,to accept or not transactions.
