  1. I will just state one example. Parents who give their motorbike keys to their 10 years olds. If you don't think that is low mentality you are the one who should provide a photo of yourself. Do you want any more examples?
  2. I would think that when people get promoted in any job it should be on their ability , not on the way they shake hands.
  3. If anyone shouts at me I will shout back, but there will never be any violence.
  4. With the exception of their road behaviour and low mentality, I have always praised the Thai people for their honesty, decency and being non confrontational. I have never had problems with shop assistants from when I arrived here about 16 years ago, but since the pandemic, my experience with them has been terrible, and it's all being about the same thing. I entered a shop to get a key cut, I had been at this shop three times recently, and had no problem, it was a woman serving then, so I went into this shop a couple of days ago and this time it was a guy. I handed him my key along with a big smile, he then started shouting loudly and madly waving his arms about like a madman shouting No! No! I entered an AIS shop with two assistants and no customers. and the same thing happened one of the girls shouting No! No! or similar and waving her hands about. I promise you that the next time someone treats me like this, I will jump right down their throats. I will not take that attitude ever again from anyone.
  5. I have just sent you a PM.
  6. The unelected caretaker PM is not interested in more tourist arrivals, him and his soldiers have scared have scared away many retirees and tourists since he and his soldiers stole the country in 2014.
  7. Clydesdale Bank, now Virgin Money also no problem. though I think in both cases it may be wise to open an account using a UK address, then after you come to Thailand tell them.
  8. So the Thai electorate voted for this soldier along with his 200 odd senators/generals?? Wait till I see Mrs Jones for voting and not telling me.
  9. Does this gold shop allow you to pay by bank transfer with app? or must it be cash?
  10. Of course they do, but how many other countries have a police force that ask you for money just to "investigate" something?
  11. The soldiers don't need to ask "how can we screw this up"? They keep screwing things up all the time.
  12. I keep laughing in their faces, an unelected caretaker PM and his soldiers who think they are politicians trying to run the Banana Republic of Thailand who are trying to fleece tourists with a 300Bt charge which they cannot find a way to implement, so have to keep postponing it. How many times is that now? About 5 or 6? Yes, I'll just keep on laughing.
  13. Anyone know of a gold shop in either Pattaya or Bangkok where you can buy gold through transfer from your bank app? I have tried so many particularly in Chinatown who only accept cash.
  14. The posts here have somehow gotten mixed up. "Where no insurance was involved" was about someone getting charged for medical treatment with no invoice. Not anything to do with the British guy in the motorbike accident.
  15. Are you saying that the unelected caretaker PM is a hypocrite as well as a liar?? Tut tut!
  16. When you have soldiers mainly with the average low Thai IQ running the country, there isn't that much which does make sense.
  17. As far as I know, there was no insurance claim involved in this case.
  18. If I had facial hair I would keep scratching all the time. Before it became fashionable, handsome guys very rarely would grow facial hair, tell me a person, say a former pop star ie Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Billy Fury, Engelbert, who ever had facial hair. Another thing, what employer has any right to tell someone they can or cannot have facial hair? I once walked out of a college course when told I would need to get a haircut.
  19. No normal person would tattoo their face. Before facial hair became the fashion it is now, people with unattractive faces would just grow facial hair.
  20. To be honest, and I have stated this before, it is years since I have had an insurance policy, so I cannot disagree with you. When small print it is exactly what you said, posters keep on going on about small print or fine print. When small print is mentioned, my mind goes to restaurant menu's and the extra charge of 17% for taxes. You have got it spot on in your last paragraph about motorbike rental shops.
  21. The letters should all be the same size, I don't care what size, and there should be no small print. Is that plain enough for you?
  22. I know someone who went to a government hospital for very minor treatment, he was given the price of 500 odd Bt written on a piece of paper, the previous cost for the same treatment at the same hospital was 300 odd Bt, in a proper itemised invoice.
  23. I may be wrong but only Immigration or the courts can do this, not hospitals, but laws will probably be different in different countries.
