  1. When buying gold at Chinatown, can you pay by Bangkok bank app, or does it have to be cash?
  2. Are these vans insured, will the injured still have to pay their hospital bills?
  3. If I buy gold at one of the gold shops in Chinatown, must I pay in cash only as in Pattaya? What about my bank app? Anyone recommend any special one? Thanks.
  4. If I die before my wife, does she automatically inherit my motorbike. It is in my name and my wife is obviously my next of kin, so do I need to do anything? Obviously her name would need to go into the green book.
  5. Yes there is a BigC and a Lotus, Lotus has most of the other shops, so I will try there. Thanks.
  6. "If you don't know the rules in a country you visit, learn them" I'm not interested in learning anyone's rules, there is such a thing as common sense, but only if it is genuine. If you don't like anyone's rules or think they are unfair, just try and work you way around them, or just ignore them. I have lived that way all my life and have no criminal record or been in any serious trouble.
  7. When I first came to Thailand I was up in court, nothing to do with any criminality. I won my case, then a fortnight later, my lawyer emailed my and told me the judge had changed her mind, he then only charged me half his fee.
  8. Can anyone tell me where the AIS shop is in Phichit? Thanks.
  9. A question here. My motorbike is in my name, I have the green book, if I die before her, does she as my next of kin inherit it? Or is there more to it?
  10. How many ordinary people can afford to lose even a days pay? Would the people who make these stupid rules be prepared to forfeit one days pay? I think we know the answer to that.
  11. "Lazarda's suppliers are marginally more trustworthy". ??????????
  12. I have on a few occasions tried to get on to Shopee, they just won't allow it, I'm told it is because I am in Thailand, but there seems to be a lot of Shopee customers in Thailand, or have I got it wrong?
  13. I have used the same motorbike taxis for years to go to the Pattaya bus terminal, the last time about 4 weeks ago the driver wanted an extra 20 Bt for my case which is a small cabin bag type, he did not get it. It seems nearly everyone is on the take these days, some blaming the pandemic and the Russian war, the pandemic is over, let's see if this scamming goes on and prices come down when the Russian war is over.
  14. What about the guys who come from Isaan to work as a taxi driver in Bangkok? That would surely be a lot harder than driving a cab in London.
  15. I went to book in to the Apex, but immediately changed my mind when I asked about wifi, they did not have any, and that was only about 6 years ago.
  16. Bacon and eggs are fine when cold, I would be happy with cold eggs in a buffet as long as they are not fried. When I go on a long motorbike journey, I regularly make up bacon and egg sandwiches with my flask of tea and biscuits.
  17. Yes, but she won't be boiling them. I bet she fries them.
  18. I have spent a long time trying to book a hotel in Bangkok, the normal hotels I have used have closed down due to the pandemic and never reopened. Every single hotel I have tried to book, using mostly Agoda, give you a price, then the final price ends up a few hundred Baht more than was first stated, there have been no exceptions to this, and I am not referring to the extra 17% for tax etc. Here's an example. Through the agent, The Nana Hotel show a price of 1,300--, then the final price is 1,700--. I have business in Bangkok which will take less than a day, so I am just going to spend my evenings in Pattaya, then getting a bus to Bangkok and back in one day. Much cheaper for hotels and food. Has anyone else tried to book a Bangkok hotel through an agent lately?
  19. It really depends on what part of Bangkok you are traveling from or which part of Pattaya you are traveling to.
  20. Yes 10 Bt for the local baht busses is way, way expensive. ????
  21. Anyone know if there is anyway you can cook these white fillets from Makro without it shrinking so much? I boil it in a slow cooker, and when it is cooked, it has shrunk to much less than half I started off with.
  22. It doesn't matter who the next or any PM get's into office, there will always be some soldier who will start a coup after seeing how well the present unelected PM has fared. Personally, I would like the Thai people themselves to start an non violent protest of some sort when the next coup comes.
  23. I would rather see Pae Thongtarn's face everywhere than his.
