    I dated Eric Claptons bass player Jack Bruce's niece for over two years back in Scotland, that would be in the mid seventies.

    Eric Clapton is one of the greatest guitarist's ever. But to me Jimi Hendrix's guitar playing is more like producing sounds using gadgets than actual guitar playing.

    Excellent post. I don't care for Frank Sinatra's singing either. I will not say he can't sing, but I just do not like his voice, so many of his songs have very little melody, ie "I Will Drink The Wine". "It Had To Be You". Great Actor though. In my opinion, the best singer pre Elvis was Perry Como. Don't need to leave our opinions unsaid, as long as they are respected.

    I am no expert on immigration issues. but should you not get a re entry permit from your local IO or you can get one at the airport.

    There are reports that people may avoid going to Thailand for holidays, which could cause some flights to Thailand from western countries to be cancelled. The flight companies are not going to allow half empty planes to fly are they?

    Is it likely that long haul fights in and out of Thailand over the next few weeks will be affected in any way by the earthquake? I would think the flights out of Thailand should be OK, but what about flights back into Thailand? Is there a chance that some people booked up for holiday flights to Thailand will be cancelling them maybe causing some flights to be cancelled?

    A few years ago I and some expats met every Saturday at the nearest swimming pool, but I don't remember even asking any of them if they were members of Thaivisa as it was then.

    No I would think it would be much more than that. Put it this way then, this is really only an opinion. How many expats who have lived in Thailand for at least 10 years are members of AN. I think maybe more than 60%.

    It would be interesting to know what percentage of farangs who are living in Thailand are actually members of AN. As someone living up country with no farangs near me (they are all dead or moved away) Every time I need any advice or help AN is the only answer.

    Since yesterday I cannot order from Temu, every time I try to click on any item, a notice comes up, Security Verification. Every time I try I am told "verification failed' anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

    "Does she pay taxes here?" What does that matter? She is obviously contributing to the country's economy. She will be paying for here accomodation, living expenses etc.

    There are a lot of expats who cannot leave Thailand because of having Thai families. Bought there houses etc, so no, you don't know what you are talking about.

    Excellent post here which I agree with. If we could just get an improvement on their road behaviour and certain immigration issues, the country would be almost perfect.

    This Banana Republic is far too Militaristic and will never change. Soldiers and more soldiers always around the governments. Get them back to their barracks and parade grounds, that is all they are good for.
