Honda Wave, Yamaha Finn, gearbox and riding
NoshowJones replied to driver52's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Yes but not mopeds. A previous poster has already explained what a moped is/was, and I think he was spot on. -

No matter what job you are doing, if you are serving the public, you should always be polite, provided of course that the customer is also polite. -

Like a Forza, fully automatic and comfortable over a long journey, and excellent for riding in Bangkok and Pattaya. -

What exactly is a moped? When I was a kid, my dad had what is called a moped. It is an ordinary bike with a very small engine at the back of the seat. I don't think they even exist any more, is a moped another name for a Wave? If not then I am stumped. -
I have already explained that.

I have told you as it is, There is nothing more to tell you. the key I wanted was for my topbox on the motorbike. I got a new top box and the key is very similar to one they cut for my previous top box.

Tom Jones copied Elvis?? Tom Jones started of as a carbon copy of PJ Proby, and not half as good. Yes he had a very strong voice, but his biggest rival Englebert was a much better singer.

Does your Thai partner know much about history outside of Thailand?
NoshowJones replied to sharksy's topic in General Topics
My wife has university degree's, is very clever, I always take seriously everything she says as she always seems to be right, she never stopped fulltime education until she was 22 years old, while I left school at 16 and had no interest in anything except music and playing football, I could play any songs I knew from the age of five on the piano. I have a lot of knowledge about American and Irish history Today despite her education and cleverness, she has no knowledge or interest in anything outside of Thailand. May I point out that when I was a teacher with Prathom's five and six, I did see one teacher always heading for his class with maps under his arm so he was obviously teaching geography. -
If the tins of beans were moved to a different place to where they have been for the last few years, and at least 6 different attendants couldn't find them then where were they? Have you read the previous posts in this thread?
-
They have a western food store attached to it. I noticed a farang guy and his Thai wife and showed them the "beans" on my smartphone and the wife said yes tins of beans, she told an attendant and he still could not take me to the shelf to get the beans, so I got them in Tesco instead.
-
Yes, but where were the beans? They should have been on the same shelf as they have been for years, I would think that beans would be about the most important in a farang food store.
-
In big C today (Mon), I could not even get a can of beans, the attendants did not even know what beans were. I used by translate app and each attendant kept taking me to different parts of the store. I know what shelf the cans of bean should be at. I ended up getting them at Lotus.

Not crude. ????

Good, now run along.

Yes, but as you will know about the difference on the roads between then in England and today in Thailand. When I started driving as a teenager, I bought a cheap minivan took it to the industrial estate and practised driving although I knew how to drive to start with, I then started driving without a license for a few months then took 5 driving lessons to learn how to pass the test.

I have always tried my to respect other posters opinions even if I don't agree with them, but in this case I cannot. I am very surprised so many farangs think it is OK for parents to hand their ten year olds the keys to their motorbikes to ride on public roads. The posters who live in places like Bangkok, ChangMai, Pattaya may not see that but here up country it is an epidemic. Reading through this thread it must be noticed how many sad and confused emoticans I have received for complaining about underage motorbike riders. The posters responsible know who they are. I'll just leave it at that.

Very sensible post. I have not raised my voice to any Thai's, not even my wife, but she is very highly educated and clever, except for an immigration officer, and that was only in retaliation to his attitude to me. He's not going to give me a thumping. I have stopped lot's of them both men and women from jumping in front of me in a queue without shouting, I just put my arm in front of them, as experience has taught me to always watch for them. I know I said I would shout back at them, but I have changed my mind on that.

I won't argue with that, but there is another reason in Scotland what masonic handshakes are known for, but I will not go into it as it is not suitable for this forum.

If you read the posts your question has already been answered.

Sorry, but I don't understand your comment at all. The grammar is all wrong.
