  1. You located a doctor with experience doing PAE? Can you share the name? Good possibility he also works elsewhere
  2. If she is Thai, should start with the hospital she is registered at under SS or 30 baht scheme. If you wsmant to pay for ptivate care then suggest https://www.samitivejsriracha.com/en/doctor-detail.html?id=1 Ask if she us consuming any weight loss drugs ir drinks ( including "herbal" ones) as these are frequent culprits in young women of that age, especially Thais. Also look into caffeine intake.
  3. That is an excellent price for MRI. Makd sure to get the scan on DVD so spine specialist can directly review it.
  4. It has been repotted elsewhere that her body was found on the boat. Apparently went to the toilet before the fire broke out.
  5. Well med is an option. Others: https://rsuhealth.com/rsu-medical-center/ (Sukhumvit around Soi 33. You do not need to get a package, you can request a specific test. They will email results) https://www.brianet.com/blood-test/ Will also email results but less conveniently located, Lardprao area With PSA, if elevated, should also get Free PSA to calculate ratio. especially if you have BPH.
  6. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 124 seconds
  7. I have no idea why the room charge shows that high, did you ask? It will nto have been do to add on nursinbg fee abnd meals alone, that would not more than double it. As for insurance, SIPH definitely does accept insurance and has direct payment arrangements with some insurers as listed here https://www.siphhospital.com/en/patient-services/mutual-clients While your insurer may not be among these, I have also had reports of people arranging direct payment to other insurers. Did you speak directly to the 3rd party payment office? And lastly, to be clear - is the estimate shown from SIPH, or from Siriraj the government hospital? As it is the latter which adds a 25% surcharge for foreigners. And which requires an attendant etc. I would be amazed if SIPH did either.
  8. You can purchase Trental here and they will deliver it to your home https://bangkokdrugstore.com/product/trental-400-mg-10s-sanofi/ Could also ask here (use the Messenger function) https://medisafepharma.com/
  9. An inexact use of terms. Possiibly stemming from an anouncrment initially made in Thai. If you read through the article, it is a cost effectiveness study of an already tested and approved vaccine.
  10. Your passport will be examined as that is your identity document. Follow the advice given. If caught on overstay anywhere but the airport imm counter on exit, you risk detention in a very uncomfortable situation.
  11. This is not a clinical trial of vaccine efficacy or safety. The vaccine in question has already completed such studies and is already approved for use in many countries, including Thailand. It does not have the problems associated with use in people who have never had dengue which were seen in earlier dengue vaccines. The study is of cost effectiveness to determine if it is economically advisable to offer this vaccine free of charge through the public health system. Currently it must be paid for out of pocket.
  12. Are you referring to UHT milk or fresh milk or what? I can still readily buy both low fat and nonfat Foremost brand UHT milk where I am (Prachinburi).
  13. A large Thai pharmacy (i.e. not a Boots or Watsons) located near a tertiary hospital would be the best bet. Where in Thailand are you located? Be sure to ask by generic name as Cerator and Flexital brands are more widely used than Trental.
  14. Thank you for the update, I take it you mean Hope House? And as you researched a number ilif places, might you be able to confirm if these 2 are different places albeit both with "Hope" in the name and in Chonburi area? https://hopehousethailand.com/ https://www.hope-rehab-center-thailand.com/ Thanks in advance
  15. From your description I think you'd do best to see a pulmonologist. There are 2 at BPH: https://bangkokpattayahospital.com/doctor/ong-ard-kosintarajit-m/ https://bangkokpattayahospital.com/doctor/nataphon-wuthithepbuncha-m/ And one at Pattaya Memirial https://www.pattayamemorial.com/our-experts/witaya-benjatamanont-md
  16. An ENT would not be best choice for a pulmonary or cardiac issue. Can you clarify what you mean by "lung/breathing issue"?
  17. Mefical repatriation companies are quite expensive. Ftom your description he obviously needs to be accompanied on a a flight but it is not at all clear to me that he needs a medical attendant ? If not, then couldn't a relative, friend or acquaintance accompany him? Reducing the cost to 2 plane tickets. You might find this recent thread of interest:
  18. The vaccine is available in all hospitals but given only to infants. It is not yet protocol anywhere I kmow of to give it to prevent recurrent HSV outbreaks. True that there is very recent research showing a benefit but sample size was quite small and earlier studies showed different outcome. Consensus is that further research needed. You'll have a hard time persuading someone to give it to you. Best chance will be a private hospital. I can't suggest which though as it will be luck of the draw and ultimately up to the individual doctor you see.
  19. Are you sure it was glucagon they injected and not 50%Dextrose? There is no brand of glucagon listed as registered in Thailand but I suppose there might be a GPO brand (government) as these don't always show in the directory. If it does exist here you can probably get it. Maybe even at a (large) pharmacy. Please let m know what you find out, thanks.
  20. P.S. I did some more digging into old threads on this board. Government hospital not more than 20k. And -- perhaps most importantly -- DNA result from one of 2 government hospitals in Bangkok is necessary should you ever need to prove paternity in a Thai court. Even if you don't envision such a need now, no telling what the future may bring. These are: 1. Police General Hospital 492/1 Rama I Rd, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330 2nd floor 'DNA testing center' Tel: 02 207 6000 2. Ramathibodi Hospital Rama VI Road, Bangkok I0400 Tel. 02 354-7275, 201-1296 You would need to attend with the mother and child, and bring your passport , the mothers ID card, babies birth certificate, and mother'ss tabien baan -- originals & photocopies of all. They won't do prenatal there and as mentioned, prenatal testing is of no use for legal purposes anyhow.
  21. Close to 100k baht in private hospitals. I don't know cost in govt facilites. As previously mentioned, IF it is required would have to be done in a facility specified by the Australisn Embassy. For all I know they might require the test to be done by a lab outside Thailand altogether. A test done during pregnancy will not be useful for obtaining citizenship since results will not be in the child's name. If it is required, it would have to be done after birth. And there may be a requirement for Embassy Consular staff to be present as witness during the test. Surely you can get all this information, and details of approved hospitals, from the Embassy? Are you wanting prenatal paternity test for your own reasons separate from citizenship application? Because that would be a different matter and more options about where to do it.
  22. It says MAY be asked. Not WILL be asked. Good chance that if you are listed on the birth certificate as father, this will not be asked. But you will not know until you make the application, which you cannot do until after the child is born.
  23. Glucagon injection is not available in Thailand as far as I know. Hospitals of course, can inject a quick acting glucose. Before loss of consciousness there are warning signs during which person should consume a sugary drink. Glucose powders (Glucose D, Oracose etc) are readily and cheaply available at any pharmacy and should be kept in the home. They can be drunk plain or added to fruit juice and they act very quickly. Also keep honey in the home. If someone is unconscious or otherwise unable to drink, rub honey and/or a thin paste of glucose powder on their tongue and gums while waiting for ambulance.
  24. in Switzerland, PAE (prostatic artery embolization) might also be an option and this is less invasive, though also newer than TURP. You need to have a detailed discussion with your urologist there, reviewing the pros and cons of each option specific to your situation.
  25. I do not know what this 80,000 baht prosthetic is, or if/how it differs from what the 30 baht system would cover. It should be possible for her to continue treatment at Chula- - which is also a government hospital -- under the 30 baht system if she obtains a letter of referral from her registered hospital. Possible she has already done this and is already not having to pay for the specialist consultations there, only to pay extra for the prosthesis for some reason. You'd have to clarify that with her. If you mean Tha Bo Crown Prince Hospital, in Nong Khai, that would not have prosthetic services and would refer her elsewhere. She could get a letter from Chula explaining they are providing her with prosthetic servicesand asking them to issue a referral -- if she has not already done this. (She may have). Your original post sounded like she was very unhappy with the prosthetic services currently being received and that there were quality concerns, now it seems that she likes where she goes and refuses to change?
