Ah yes, cruise ships. The great floating Covid petri dishes of the sea.

Could you elaborate on the checking in on bag problem please? There was quite a big queue, but the real problem was that some travellers had maasive bags and appeared to be over their purchased weight allowance . So had to stand around while they sorted that out

Flew with AA 2 weeks ago. Did the online check-in and printed boarding passes beforehand. Absolutely no issues at the airport, and would agree 1 hour is enough.
Did make the mistake of checking in a bag one way. That added 20 minutes onto the procedure. Won't be doing that again.

There are a lot of factories in Thailand cutting overtime and reducing hours in an attempt to delay what may turn out to be the inevitable.
In addition, workers are being told that annual salary increases planned for April next year are are being reduced or removed altogether.
The global slow down goes well beyond the tourism sector, and I fear things will get worse before they get better. In the mean time, the push to automation marches on.

I see 3 of the models have exactly the same shoes, which means that prior to the shoot they didn't own running shoes, meaning they aren't runners, and thus won't be bouncing along the beach. I call shenanigans!

I fail to see why a mute button equally applied to both candidates, will favour one or the other, but knowing the average IQ level of the Trump camp, I can understand why they don't get it
It's hard to interrupt and bully when people can't hear you. In the last debate it was nearly 10 minutes of interruptions from Trump, and 72 seconds of interruptions from Biden.

NZ is consistently voted one of the freeist countries in the world, if not the most free (e.g. http://www.worldfreedomindex.com/). Having a healthy democracy is at the heart of this, regardless of which direction one votes. As soon as fear and suspicion start to undermine this, e.g. in the name of "liberty and freedom", you'll ironically find freedoms and liberties start to disappear.

Please stop opening your mouth publicly until the various Gov departments are all in agreement and you are actually ready to fully implement whatever like-to-be-unsuccessful plan you dream up next.
Until you fully comprehend who is hurting and exactly why they are hurting, you will not be able to fix the problem. A plane load of Chinese tourists on a carefully orchestrated package tour is not going to help the millions of small business that have collapsed thanks to Covid-19 and related incompetence by those in the current administration.

It seems he is unprepared and too busy to do his job properly either. Based on the attitude of the Sarasas owner, I wouldn't be surprised if incompetence and abuse run deep throughout the organisation. The kids don't stand a chance.

If anyone had a look at the video of him standing on the Whitehouse lawn, the man was having difficulty breathing. It was obvious. His head movements, heaving of chest and shoulder, and gaping of mouth. Not saying he won't recover, but he is NOT ok at this time.

Giant construction mega projects. Can't understand the attraction with those. Oooh, look, it's raining thick brown envelopes again.

Just take a moment to appreciate a world where the above headline is an actual thing, and not some form of satire.

I saw the movie, and didn't mind it. I like Millie Bobby Brown, and her character was fun energetic, and not without flaws. And let's face it, it's a much better take than trying to reboot the actual Sherlock as a woman. Sherlock himself was still the socially awkward genius.... but showing how that awkwardness had affected his relationship with his sister was completely inline with his character. Mycroft on the other hand, was just an stereotypical Victorian <deleted>. Not much depth there, but served his purpose. Overall I enjoyed the story, but the ending felt a little rushed.

Smart kids. They have hit the nail on the head with this one. Hopefully they can dismantle this system of indoctrination from the inside. At the very least, being aware of what's going on is a huge step forward.

The term "Expatriate" typically refers to foreigners working/staying in a country other than their native one temporarily or fixed amount of time. Quite a few of these who were due to leave Thailand in July/August after their 2 to 3 year contracts finished are still here due to Covid, having their departure postponed. Likewise, some of the new batch coming in on rotation have had their arrival postponed too. The rest of us are carrying on as normal, having work permits and visas renewed without issue.
If your referring to immigrants, those who have decided to make Thailand their new home. Well yes, there are quite a few who don't meet the legal requirements who now seem to be out of options. The flexible law enforcement which so many complain about has also allowed a significant number of immigrants to stay in Thailand illegally, either through bribes or the use of agents. These people will either have to leave, or find a legal way to stay. I wish them all the best whichever path they take.

Great feedback, thanks.
Point with the current XV Thai models is they lack EyeSight safety system - a real letdown since it's one of the best driver assistant technologies available.
They're currently offering substantial cash discounts at Bangkok showrooms - could it be to make way for the 2021 face-lift, including EyeSight? A Subaru without this tech is a no-go.
Have you considered the Forester then? It's had a facelift for 2020, and only costs slighty more than the XV. https://www.subaru.asia/th/en/vehicles/forester/
They have an eyesight variation for 1.13m THB.
Given that it's notably bigger as well, it is the better value proposition,

Just a couple of websites. There are hundreds more. There are many well founded and researched reasons why a spouse can't/won't leave their partner.

There was a recent article in Thai comparing the XV vs. the Mazda CX-30 vs. Corolla Cross.
It went something like this, but I can't find the article sadly:
Best handling and driver experience went to XV and Mazda.
Safest Onroad: XV
Nicest Interior: Mazda
Engine performance: Mazda
Offroad and weekend warrior: XV
Fuel Economy: Corolla
Family Vehicle: Toyota (although XV had the most space
What surprised me was how often the XV was at the top considering it's age. Of course having full time 4wd and the best ground clearance was always going to be an advantage in in some areas.
My own experience driving Subarus in NZ is that they stick to the road like glue and are very reliable. Being Thailand I wouldn't want to live to far from a dealership though. it can make even getting an oil change quite an inconvenient affair.
I will be looking to see if the face-lift 2021 version is in Thailand when I change my vehicle next year. https://www.subaru.com/2021-crosstrek

This sudden change of tact could be related to the protests. Corruption is one of the major issues. If the Government finally achieves something with relation to this case, they might hope it takes pressure off the more sensitive/difficult part of protesters calls for reform. "Hey look, we are doing something, you can go home now". And who knows, if they successfully take action in this case (and hopefully on other issues too), it make be enough... at least for a while.

When the number of suicides this year has jumped by the hundreds compared to last, and compared to the number who have died from Covid, simply keeping the borders closed looks like it could create a monster within that is much worse than the one they are trying to keep out.
I commend the Government for trying to find solutions, but their lack leadership, and mental aptitude and agility, is apparent when it comes to creating workable solutions that will have tangible benefits for those most affected by the impending economic collapse.

Perhaps hoping for help from the Chinese to prop up the regime? Hun Sen sold his own and Cambodia's soul for similar reasons.
