You have to get some in Thailand. Double glazed windows alone don't bring much. You need different glass strengths and big space between the glass. Otherwise it just might get worse. And the deeper the frequency of the noise is the harder it will be to block it. A friend of mine has 12mm + 8mm glass but deep bass frequencies from bars are still not blocked. Such a window construction might help in your case because you don't have such deep frequencies. Also the frames need to block the noise.

Agreed with all of the above... but, if you have a balcony, you could stick sliding glass doors and windows on the outside ledge. This will significantly reduce noise from the balcony at least, and have the added affect of reducing your aircon bill (better insulation).

Just for reference, I have a mosque near me that I can now barely hear, and the electricity bill for my 108sqm hovers around 1,400 baht a month using the aircon when I am home during the day and  every night.

  2. Keep your hair short so they are less noticeable. Also, as you mention, gels/waxes can help. But otherwise, embrace it. It's more important to focus on have a fit and healthy body, look after your skin with things like rosehip oil and enough sleep, and of course a bit of manscaping where necessary. It's the overall package that matters.

  3. You know what creates domestic growth? Strong, competent leadership that creates a stable economic environment, which in- urn boosts investor confidence.

You know what doesn't? Quasi dictators who think it is their divine right to rule over the masses, but in fact so far removed from reality and so incompetent that they have no idea what they are doing. Having 2 Finance Ministers resign in the space of a month is hardly a confidence booster either.

  4. In honesty, I am not aware of the specifics. If you drive up in your BMW and outline to the Sales Manager what you want to achieve, I am sure they will figure out a way to make it happen. From what I have heard, Mercedes dealerships can be very accommodating to their (potential) customers. Perhaps make sure you talk to someone senior, and who is comfortable conversing in English.

  5. It should be noted that one of the big draw cards to Mae Sot are the casinos on the Myanmar side of the boarder. Thais and foreigners alike do not have to officially cross the boarder to access them, it's just a 30 second boat ride.  So even with the boarders closed you can still get your Myanmar contracted Covid, which I guess is too much of a gamble even for casino junkies.
