Why don't they make ALL people who apply for a new licence be time limited to riding 250cc or smaller bikes. Then after say 2 years, them them move up to bigger bikes. This is what many countries with a functioning Ministry of Transport do.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to ensure X number of hours at a riding school, and more rigorous practical tests too.
Those who already have licenses, from either Thailand or abroad, would only need to do a stripped down version, which would still include a practical examination.

Trump is such a narcissistic imbecile. The things he says, and the way he says them, I am seriously beginning to wonder if he may also suffer from a form of mild retardation. ????

"Initially, tourists allowed to visit Koh Samui will come from five pilot countries -- New Zealand, Australia, Germany, China (some cities), and Vietnam. "... no they won't. No government is going to risk additional Covid cases just so people can take a holiday in Thailand.
They just don't get it. The problem isn't just people coming here, it's when they try to go home again.

It's all crystal ball gazing at this point. Unless you have legitimate need to get back to Thailand (employment or family), then I'd look at other options closer to home.

Baan UnRak though seems like an ok choice as their philosphy is more spiritual along the lines of Buddhism, encouraging meditation and love. This I feel is more culturally appropriate for Thai kids. Will look into them a bit more.
After 5 years at an NGO school in Cambodia I came here hoping to continue in some way, only finding out voluteers are classed as workers and need a special volunteer visa. None of the above mention this.
Baan Unrak is non-denominational. They don't mind whether you are Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, or whatever. They use daily meditation as a way for the children to find balance and peace. Many have experienced a lot of trauma, and meditation is one of the tools they use to help with this. If you live near Sangklaburi, you can visit their restaurant and bakery. There you can talk with someone about a visit to the actual home/school. You're heart will melt, and your mind will be blown. It's such an amazing place.

If the motorcade security could not pounce/deal with this guy in short order then who ever trained them needs to be given a desk job.
I don't think a shooter is going to charge along the expressway tooting their horn loudly to announce their presence. ????

Ok, so if you didn't order it, find out who did! You are the PM of a quasi dictatorship. Stop passing the buck and do your job.

I don't care about her weight, and it's a sad reflection of this world that it is such an issue. I am definitely not a fan of her acting or comedy however.

Yes, as did film crew, America's Cup teams and various others who have had exemptions to enter.
As far as I know, they were all quarantined though. The film crew definitely, as it was in the news.

Only celebration I saw was from people sick of being imprisoned in their own homes being allowed out.
The majority, while not enjoying being stuck at home, understood why it was necessary. While it's not perfect, I think you'll find the election result will reflecs the popularity of the current Jacinda led Labour government.

That was nice of them to provide a meal afterwards. Poor people having to queue up for so long. Must be quite disheartening seeing how many were there too.

Oh, the poor General in his armed motorcade is scared of someone tooting their horn at him. Diddums. ????

I have been supporting www.baanunrak.org in Sangklaburi for over 10 years. Completely transparent and no corruption. I just got back from a visit there last week. It is a home that supports and educates over 120 children, many of whom even get scholarships through university. They are over 50% self sufficient through their growing their own vegetables and farming animals (80 goats if I remember correctly). They also look after some single mothers who have been abandoned or ostracised for a variety of reasons. It truly is a wonderful place.

I did this trip a few weeks ago and for the train we took which was C Class only they could only be bought on the day. The higher classes could be bought in advance.
There was a form to complete with personal information before you purchase a ticket and these were available all over the station.
I 2nd this, and would like to add that some of the shorter journeys can only be bought on the day due to limited class availability.

I think the youth views are pretty clear. I also doubt that they are naive enough to see this tactic for any more than it is. These young people want to create a Thailand that is better than the one they live in today. I wish them all the best.

The US has never been completely free trade. This is in spite of extolling its virtues. The cheaper prices are more to do with bulk buying, fixed duration contracts covering minimum quantities, and trade agreements with specific products. Also, many countries apply large "sin" taxes on alcohol (which is not an import tax), plus you've got the level of VAT/GST.

IMHO, like many of the tariffs, this is pure protectionism. The US was the biggest market (still could be) for Scotch, getting these drinkers to switch over to local whiskey and bourbons would appear to be inline with other policies of Trump's. The big US players have started putting out more high end versions of their product, but they can't compete with the appeal of good single malt for most.
If you can't beat 'em, slap taxes on 'em so that they are unaffordable. Let's see how this strategy works in the long term.

I think NZ has shown itself to be quite a sensible country in recent times, the US, not so much. The former is considered to have a "healthy democracy", the latter, a "flawed" one. NZ's top ranked national philosophy is "fairness", which is one of the reasons NZ is rated the country with the most freedom in the world. By pursuing fairness, one has not need for fear. The fear of losing freedom, is ironically, one of the reasons freedom is slipping away.

I do so love the theatre and culture of the UK. While there are a few performances scattered around Bangkok, it's something I really do miss.

I agree, Nan is very boring.... for boring people. If on the other hand you can entertain yourself and enjoy exploring the great outdoors, Nan can be a truly breathtaking province to visit.

That is not the primary reason to ask staff to resign - the primary reason is to avoid paying severance,
that is certain if it is a layoff.
Yes, while I would normally agree, in a couple of recent cases, they were asked to resign, but still got severance. Rather dodgy.
