Give me strength, why do you guys dive in without processing the op? Everyone and their cat knows you can get a meal for 40-50 baht with free water, but he is clearly not alluding to that kind of meal or establishment. How many khao man gai / pad thai places do you know that serve wine and free bread & tapas? You would look a right oddball sipping cheap plonk on your plastic roadside stool. So funny. /Edit: sorry, just noticed your nik. No worries.//

For sure. Me too. But the wine is a big deal (at least 150 a glass of cheap plonk) as is location. Ralf keeps harping on about Nongnowhere… people are misreading the op. Beachside restaurant in first world country (at least I think Spain is), meal with wine and extras thrown in. I bet it was a good meal in a well kitted out restaurant, clean and served promptly. I think the point being, Thailand is not cheap; at least nowhere near what it was — Vietnam and Cambodia are cheap. Start getting into nicer restaurants in Bangkok or Phuket and you will pay handsomely… waaay more than you would in Spain.

🤣 Nong where? 🤣 With wine? Wthaever you say, dude. Look at the pic again.

Someone mentioned women. If you can't pull in Spain, then you've got a problem... or possibly the wrong side of 80.

You will generally not get that kind of meal -- WITH wine, extras and decent condiments -- at a comparable beach restaurant in a comparable part (or anywhere) of Thailand, and I live in a non-touristy area. 200 baht? 🤣 I love Thailand and will probably die here, but some of you guys are living in cloud cuckoo-land with your blind defence of the place. It was cheap once upon a time, but many things are now more expensive than in European countries, esp Spain. Even groceries in the UK are way cheaper... your boxes ion packet noodles aside. Perhaps someone will find something comparable lol in some dingy restaurant in that world class family resort called Pattaya, but what the op is showing here is the norm. Other areas of Spain are cheaper than Torrevieja, then get across to Portugal and it goes down again. Then you have your healthcare and easy visas.

Worst Joke Ever 2025

Probably done a million times but what does WIFE stand for? Washing, Ironing, Fking, Etc. 😋 -
Op is borderline troll with this Trump stuff. Get over it, dude, it is done. The guy is a pr1ck, but isn't the devil or even a the 'N' word that you guys like to bandy about. It is just puerile baby talk that people would want to break up their country, or move, or that people would not want to visit because of who is in office. Utterly ridiculous classroom stuff that is not worth the bandwidth.

Help, i fancy my local pharmacist (F) !

Didn't read all replies, but I wouldn't leave it as it'll get harder as time moves on... then you'll look like a right donkey when you awkwardly ask her out and she knocks you back. It should be done off the cuff with humour. The LINE thing seems to be the 'easiest' way to do it nowadays (here)... asking if they want to eat can be a bit full on. I also fancy my local pharmacist btw... Muslim, to boot! -
Bit harsh, Mike. While it is nice to talk on occasion and is what we’re all about, calling is a bit old school, a proper boomer thing. It has nothing on face to face communication and puts people on the spot. It is such a demanding endeavour. I want your time, NOW! If you must, just be sure to give them warning before you want to tell others what you had for breakfast… 🙂

Op, you're well out of there; sounds like a right hole regards pool and policies and having a c,nt as a landlord is never nice. Just let the insurance sort the gate and make sure you get your deposit back... I'm sure he'll wriggle out of it though. They should be having contracts translated for foreign tenants... signing something of that nature you cannot read is never a good idea. Just move on and keep an eye out for the ideal place. Guess addresses on licenses should be up to date, but one has to renew so often anyway, just do it next time.

Thai Government Vows Proactive Efforts to Safeguard Buddhism
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well gambling are drinking is obligatory for the overnighters during funeral ceremonies, and I bet you a hot cross bun to a pound of ripe bananas that lawmakers also partake. Super loud music and partying at temples; inconveniencing local residents, keeping school kids up. Is that Buddhism? It would need a fundamental change to stamp it all out. All for protecting Buddhism here though. The less Christian and Islamic influence the better. -
Pollutants, pollen? Whenever I’m in UK I get a bit wheezy due to the above. Tried antihistamine, like loratadine?

Aisle seat near toilets, don’t drink, ear plugs, pull blanket over head. Why overthink it?

Sole searching: Foreign man’s shoes stolen from Thai beach - video
daveAustin replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I wish my life were so mundane that having a pair of shoes (flip-flops) nicked would be a big deal. If they won’t go under the seat or no basket, at least plonk them on the footwell or carry the F things! Clearly done it for likes to his channel or whatever. -

Pool chlorine killing the bacteria? -
There seems to be a common denominator here. As for communicating feelings and complicated issues to a Thai lady... even if your Thai is spot on, probably not wise to go there.

Musk is bang on. He should be running Britain. Heck, I'd sooner have a baboon in charge than the unfeeling, smug git that is currently in Number 10 ... BY DEFAULT!!
