  1. There is no place for mannow in a decent gin and tonic. Get lemon or don't bother at ll.
  2. Wot! The girls are honest in Shepton Mallet?
  3. Sounds like the war on drugs........................only less brutal.
  4. If he is your mate, and from down the pub, he will probably fail the “persons of good standing in their community” criteria...????
  5. A Thai has no idea what they are signing ???? (many police, bank staff and Immigration have refused to sign). They are eligible though (see above)
  6. Someone in a recognised profession* can witness your ‘LIFE CERTIFICATE’ if you’re claiming State Pension abroad. They do not need to live in the UK, or have a British passport. Please note that Consular Officials at your local Embassy are no longer supposed to act as witnesses for this purpose. Examples of people working in (or being retired from) recognised professions resp “persons of good standing in their community” are:  accountant  airline pilot  articled clerk of a limited company  assurance agent of recognised company  bank/building society official  barrister  chairman/director of limited company  chiropodist  commissioner of oaths  councillor (local or county)  civil servant (permanent), but not someone who works for Her Majesty’s Passport Office  dentist  director/manager of a VAT-registered charity  director/manager/personnel officer of a VAT-registered company  engineer (with professional qualifications)  financial services intermediary (eg a stockbroker or insurance broker)  fire service official  funeral director  insurance agent (full time) of a recognised company  journalist  Justice of the Peace  legal secretary (fellow or associate member of the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs)  licensee of public house  local government officer  manager/personnel officer (of a limited company)  member, associate or fellow of a professional body  Member of Parliament  Merchant Navy officer  minister of a recognised religion (including Christian Science)  nurse (RGN and RMN)  officer of the armed services  optician  paralegal (certified paralegal, qualified paralegal or associate member of the Institute of Paralegals)  person with honours (an OBE or MBE, for example)  pharmacist  photographer (professional)  police officer  Post Office official  president/secretary of a recognised organisation  Salvation Army officer  social worker  solicitor  surveyor  teacher, lecturer  trade union officer  travel agent (qualified)  valuer or auctioneer (fellows and associate members of the incorporated society)  Warrant Officers and Chief Petty Officers https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/814507/5_Life_Certificate_Witness_Options.pdf
  7. Unnecessary Bill. Certainly anyone who can countersign a British passport can sign a DWP life certificate; I believe it has been downgraded further to:- Who can sign your Life CertificateYour countersignatory must:have known you for at least 2 years for example they’re a friend, neighbour or colleague (not just someone who knows you professionally) be ‘a person of good standing in their community’ or work in (or be retired from) a recognised professionNo need to have a stamp.
  8. It's not about standards... I imagine that yours could be easily topped Culture and 'the time' provide context for me. Warren Mitchell, the Comedians (in general), Churchill (obviously not a comedian) , Frank Carson, Jim Davidson et al .....none would be acceptable today.
  9. Watching bitter idiots keep squirming is thriving enough for me.
  10. Gets my vote as well. Stayed there 4 times.
  11. Typical of the period, and class. I can't believe that you are someone who wants to see someone hanged for cmments made half a century ago.......................
  12. Another who has yet to get over the result of the vote......and himself.
  13. Thriving is about more than just the economy. Anyway.......the Leave vote won, get over it.
  14. No.....the big red bus said "Let's fund the NHS instead"
  15. Everyone voting "leave" knew that there would be a negative affect on the UK economy........that isn't rocket-science.
  16. As you are well aware education - definitely, and training - most likely, are not strong factors for Isaan wenches. Growing rice, or rubber trees, is about the limit on education and training. I reckon that is no brainer in making the "choice" to work in the entertainment industry.
  17. It is certainly a good starting point. What has happened previously is often the best indicator of what will happen in the future. Anybody who puts too much store by polls is an idiot.
  18. ....me too! ????
  19. "Career choice"....... Pleeeease..............................????????
  20. I leave mine under the pillow. On check out day you don't know who might check the room before they give you the nod. I leave 20-30 Baht a day. I used to tip at the end of, say, a week's stay but my missus said that the staff prefer a little every day - that gets their meal covered - and a maid might work 6 days and my departure day could be her day off.
  21. Isn't 20 cents just over 6 Baht ?
  22. I agree - but someone posted about banning gas...no gas at Amazon.
