  2. That task will become increasingly difficult. It is already planned to remove cash deposit machines - any significant increase in bank counter will see the cash handling costs reviewed.
  3. Simple Googling would have educated you..... Look and learn:- Cost of accepting cash Cash Handling The idea that accepting cash is cheap is actually a myth. While some business owners might think the 3 percent fee for processing credit cards is a burden, research from IHL Group shows that cash handling costs many retailers between 4.7 and 15.3 percent.
  4. I didn't think you would understand.
  5. All banks' costs are passed on to the customer. Cash is a far more expensive commodity to 'handle' than 'cashless'.................................. hence the encouragement away from cash. Dual pricing is a likely consequence............ because that is not popular, it is more likely that increased transaction costs charged by the banks to retailers will be passed on to customers en bloc ie everyone shares the cost to avoid dual pricing.
  6. Further out than the roundabout? (With a garden centre on) where you can turn to the airport?
  7. They sell spaghetti as well....Makro and others even have international shelves.....I can't somehow see that extending to Cambodia rice..
  8. Cambodian rice - in a Thai store? Given their general protectionist nature (and a refusal to accept that ANYTHING could possibly be better than Thai products).........probably not.
  9. So.....I was 5 or 8 Baht out (5 actually, I think the minimum fare was 35 Baht) ....................sue me! ???? Then get a life you pedant! The point is that I generously paid 100 Baht to reflect the fact that the metered fare was too low.
  10. I didn't have you down as a pedant for 5 Baht!!! ????????
  11. It was small.........
  12. Yes, Marks & Spencer loved that one. Now come back to the real world................ that would exclude Thailand, so you may not see it in your lifetime - but understand the costs of money transmission and you will understand why cash transactions could cost more.
  13. I have no issue with that, I would certainly want to retain that option - bit don't whine when something costs you more when paying for cash.
  14. Just shows how many old b4stards there on this forum! ????
  15. I just tip well - if the service has been good. For low fares like 30 Baht from a local hotel to Don Muang airport I will pay 100 Baht.
  16. No one said we should eliminate cash..............................but cashless should be the favoured option.
  17. OK....my friend has a 12 month contract. Can you do a 90 day report on an address that is not 'registered' ?
  18. I never questioned you having an opinion, soldier.......I just disagreed with it.
  19. Keeping digging, your circles are getting wider, as your credibility evaporates further.
  20. I usually open the rear passenger to ask about the ride. If they decline I walk off and leave the door open. Childish, I know, but I know that the mild inconvenience will irritate them.
  21. So you can't provide a quote........I thought not.
  22. Luddite. "Tap and Go" is perfect for the entertainment industry.
  23. Can you quote where I claimed that the EU bureaucracy runs the EU ?
