  1. What? Don't mention......the war? Is this a quiz
  2. What evidence do you have for that potentially libelous statement? Friends have used them successfully for years; one has money in the bank, one didn't.
  3. It was .......until you replied.???? The point is - you CANNOT extend a visa, you can only extend the permission to stay date that was afforded by that visa.
  4. Whilst I agree whole-heartedly with your comments, I do have a preference for using the correct terminology wherever possible.
  5. Invalid/used is the same effect as cancelled - they have no further use. Not relevant to this thread but our wife only has to quote her last visa........ plus details of the last 3 UK visits (+other countries visited).
  6. I always believed that 90 day reporting is a totally separate issue from anything to with extensions; IOs, particularly in rural areas, will often do a 90 day report simultaneously....... absolutely no help if you are already reporting online. I see no difference between an extension date on a visa or on an extension. If the visa is 'live' then 90 day reporting does not apply (except O-A's) - you have to leave the country every 90 days.
  7. ???? Immigration will even refer to an extension as a "visa".... we are doomed. The correct terms do usually avoid any confusion......maybe!
  8. I always thought that visas were 'used' the moment you entered Thailand and what you can extend is your permission to stay. No visa can be extended!
  9. Absolute rubbish! Do it your way -but stop whining on internet forums.
  10. I have similar, a house in Buriram and a condo in Jomtein (where I spend most of my time). I choose to deal with Jomtein Immigration so my TM30 is set on the condo and I do my extensions etc at the local immigration office. If I visit the house in Buriram my missus does not submit a TM30 - absolutely pointless.. Could not be more simple than that.
  11. I don't believe that there are now any pension benefits available relating to you............. bereavement payments, yes, if she is UK domiciled.
  12. In Jomtein I didn't need anything other than the bank letter plus 12 months statements. I printed off Transferwise PDF's for each monthly transfer and highlighted each corresponding entry on the bank statements. Immigration showed no interest in my PDF's.
  13. That 02 888 8888 call centre (English language section) is very good. When I opened account with them the staff knew that I only needed to have a visa/extension.
  14. 2,000 Baht fine if they pick it up at Immigration at the airport.
  15. Mine worked two weeks ago and I had been to 5 different provinces in between reports. Your core TM30 address is unaffected by short term visits elsewhere.
  16. Yes it will, I do it all the time.
  17. This topic title (and some comment) is misleading. You DO NOT have to do a TM30 if returning to your registered address from out of province/country.
  18. In my case my partner will get 50%, less 5 percentage points for our age difference of 19 years. She will still get 45% of a tidy monthly sum. In fact she will be a lot better off when I an dead............................I don't intend making her aware of that! ????
  19. Sounds like you know an awful lot........
  20. I think you probably mean Isan Lawyers, based in Korat. I used the 15 years when it was owned by Sebastian.
  21. ... or superficiary...
  22. To be fair Thai wives never got anything from Their husband's state pension......they did get bereavement benefits - but they stopped (unless they are resident in the UK). Occupational pensions are different and there is invariably a widow's benefit attached. I have nominated my GF to receive a widow's pension when I have gone. I suggest that you contact the NHS pension trustees to nominate your missus - you won't have a clue hat to do when you are brown bread.
  23. Far too subtle. There are none so blind as those who do not want to hear.
