  1. Don't buy it then............................
  2. That is some statement ????, for me, I am not sure anything can beat Tinnies. I like the deep filled Buriram pies over the usual 'Pattaya pies' but their highlight was their steak and kidney puddings....suet pastry is not easy to handle in Thailand but they somehow managed it better than others
  3. No. I use Nookies Delights who source source all the usual Pattaya products.
  4. Whilst I agree with all that, things have changed over the last 15 years. There are far more 'Farang friendly' outlets and a big increase in local Farang distribution. When I stay in Buriram province I can get supplies of everything that I can get in Pattaya
  5. I don't think anyone will argue with the value of the 50k one-off visa fee. The issue for us older expats is the health insurance.
  6. I don't know the exact requirements, but surely transferring through a 3rd party would bed possible - otherwise it is chicken and egg, you need the visa to get the bank account. Ask BoI - they are promoting the visa.
  7. Why does he need a Thai bank account to pay the 50,000 Baht visa fee ? I must have missed that in instructions.
  8. That is not the point of this thread....... It is about whether you can apply for a marriage extension having entered on a Visa based on retireman.
  9. Thailand understood that very well.
  10. This problem existed long before BREXIT. If you don't agree, you have them in your country. The EU never did anything to adhere to the terms of the Refugee Convention.
  11. I have no Thai friends but I certainly do not hate Thailand.
  12. Where exactly did he say that he hated Thailand? I missed that bit. He might just have a balanced view to life in Thailand.
  13. You are not alone in thinking that a 1st extension should be on that basis - hence me posting the question.
  14. I am not aware that this has changed... So, they can work in a bar at age 18 - but cannot drink until they are 20! LABOUR PROTECTION ACT B.E. 2541 (1998) Section 50 An Employer shall not require a young worker under eighteen years of age to work in the following places: a slaughter house; a gambling place; a place for dancing, Ramwong or Rong Ngeng; a place of selling and serving food, liquor, tea or other beverages with a pleasing person to treat customers, or with a place for relaxing, or massage service for customers; or Other places as prescribed in the Ministerial Regulations.
  15. Is the above possible? A friend was apparently told, by his local Immigration office, that because he entered on a retirement visa his extension application must be based on retirement. I have not come across this before and suspect that the IO simply wants the easier route of retirement, rather than send a marriage application to Khon Kaen.
  16. I was just noting the geographical/administrative difference. Actually, as Sattahip is controlled by the navy there is a much smaller police presence/influence.
  17. Me too.........................the comment (whilst true) was slightly tongue in cheek.....
  18. Sometimes you think too much........ quite simply it is a perversion.
  19. .......they are the Cambodians and Laotians.
  20. Because you can. Everyone pays for sex, one way or another.
