Fair comment......... Send your bank details and will send over the Pound....... -
They will not............... unless you have evidence to the contrary. (copies of 90 day reports were never required)

I did that, about 14 years ago. It empowered me, it gave me independence and I knew after that I could live anywhere in Thailand with having to depend on a Thai lady. We actually got back together again a month later and have been together (ish) ever since. -
'schooled different' indeed.

Could you afford to live in the UK compared to Thailand?
hotandsticky replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I would agree with the shopping and little beats the quality and variety of a UK supermarket. The naysayers will point to how cheap it is to buy from the local market, but this is not a khao pad and rambutan conversation. That said, I maintain that chicken and pork in Thailand is better than the UK. It is, of course, an impossible comparison. Renting my condo by the seaside in Thailand costs less per month than the fuel bills for my old housed in the UK, but the house in the UK has increased in value from £300k to £550k in the last 10 years. -
I took my lead from this:- "I could not satisfy the immigration officer, since my embassy in Bangkok did not possess the information needed as requested." Perhaps that isn't really your narrative?

I have had my Forza 300 for a couple of years and I like it. As an overweight 60+ year old it is the perfect bike for cruising locally at 80-100 kph. It has sufficient acceleration to get away from traffic lights swiftly and the power makes overtaking pretty comfortable. Slight issues with stationary weight but I have managed to deal with most situations (mainly by not creating a situation!). I am unlikely to embark on touring to any great extent and my journeys out of town are 20/30km. I do the occasional light shopping trip so Bobbers like the Rebel 300 are probably out. Friends have said that the latest Forza is not as good to drive as the older version......more importantly the missus doesn't like the Forza and would favour a different bike that she could get her hands in 2/3 years time. What else should I be looking at? The ADV 350?, the XMax?

So you couldn't meet the required evidence for the financial criteria (please don't blame the embassy) so you paid a bribe to the IO to get a perfectly legitimate extension stamp in your passport. Yes, indeedy, that is reality in Thailand.

What are my options for extending my stay?
hotandsticky replied to Hmunker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He is not interested in your money - he is interested only in ticking the box on his 'account opening criteria' piece of paper. -
Official documentation costs you 1,900 Baht for a 12 month extension of stay. Your 'reality' costs more.

Hmmmm.......that means that - on occasions - I would be arguing against myself. Now, I am not clever enough to do that - I cannot speak for Transam! ???? -
Just to sort out the little squabble above..... Youreavinalaff is correct in saying that local IO's ONLY like dealing under their own area of jurisdiction. There is plenty of evidence in Buriram (and Surin I believe) of IO's refusing to do 90 day reports for agent acquired extensions. That makes sense and supports the comment about Pattaya addresses. Obtaining an extension in Jomtien and having an Isaan address is not possible. Years ago people had to get agent acquired retirement extensions from Pattaya because Buriram/Surin were not offering dodgy ones. In more recent years IO's have openly offered the 'service' and the most recent figures that I heard were 18/20k. One IO was (allegedly) seeking capital from a Farang to establish a 'business' of such extensions. I also have friends who deal with Jomtien Immigration who can satisfy the financial requirements but prefer to pay 10/12k rather than deal with Immigration themselves. Once that extension of stay stamp is put in your passport by an Immigration Officer you are good to go - whichever route you took to get there.

My answer would be "no, it is not worth it". I have only ever seen one instance of DWP continuing to pay state pension more than one month after death. My assumption has been that there is linkage between the British embassy/UKPO/DWP. I would be interested to hear of any widow who is still accessing the state pension of a long-dead husband. -

Did that scare you? I don't believe that wording has changed. If you receive a DWP life certificate they know, and you know, that you are living overseas. I doubt that many expats fraudulently declare that they are not entitled to an annual increase! ???? Later......I checked a life certificate that I signed for a friend over 2 years ago - same wording. -
This thread is about retirement extensions, try to avoid going off topic. The IO is God and has the ultimate sanction over the granting of retirement extensions. The thousands of people in Thailand who have paid for their extensions via agents have nothing to worry about.

The extension stamp of an Immigration officer is legitimate. Period.

They are not fake if stamped by an Immigration office/r. He deals with Surin Immigration so Buriram office is no use to him - Surin do not have a reputation for being uncooperative. This guy does not need an agent, he needs to read the visa pages on this forum and/or talk to someone who can point him in the right direction. He says he meets the financial requirements - the rest is a matter of Googling. A simple search for a local internet forum would take him to this:- Criteria for ConsiderationMust have been granted a non-immigrant visa (NON-IM).Must be 50 years of age or over.Must have evidence of having income of no less than Baht 65,000 per month; orOn the filing date, the applicant must have account deposited (saving / fixed account) in a bank in Thailand of no less thanBaht 800,000 for the past three months. ASEAN NOW posted this:-Immigration has not updated their website since a amendment to clause 2.22 of the immigration order went into effect on March 1st 2019. See: Police Order 35/2562 Changing 327/2557 Clause 2.22Just quoting the updated rules for clarity - as we know, each Immigration office apply their own rules.
