CNG and LPG vehicles face crackdown after tragic school bus fire
Thailand J replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I have a Fortuner with duel fuel systems. The LPG system needed an inspection for tax renewal yearly. All the shop on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya did was just took a picture of my car, super imposed the picture showing a absentee man infront of my car. The picture was part of the document for tax renewal. Since then I have been going back to where I have installed the system for yearly inspection, where they really do an inspection for the same price as the sleeze shop. I have stocks and very little cash. I had bond holdings until 11 year ago when sold them and invested the money into BRK/B at about $104 per share. Today BRK/B is about $450 per share. I was going to sell BRK/B whenever I needed cash but I have been selling other stocks with less capital gain to minimize tax.

I just got a renewal notice from AXA. My insurance with 300k deductible is practically useless other then for LTR visa requirement. Premium has increased about 2000B to 19000B, that is only a negligible fraction, 0.6% of $100k. Not only that I can invest the $100k in stocks, I also moved my 800,000B non-o retirement visa deposit into stocks. S&P500 is up double digit year to date. With insurance, paperwork is also very simple.

You can pay 1040ES there, and check previous estimated payments record. Your US bank info can be saved for future payments. -
Question for Americans using login.gov
Thailand J replied to david_je's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
I can't answer your question since I have not tried to access EFTPS on Login.gov. Just want to say I find it simple just pay estimated tax on IRS account. I can sign onto my IRS account with Login.gov or ID.me. Not sure but I think if you want to pay on EFTPS, you have to sign in on EFTPS website, and still have to remember password etc, IRS account is simpler. -

Getting a credit card
Thailand J replied to MarkT63's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
From my experience with Bangkok Bank, my 100K secured deposit does not qualified for the 800K immigration visa deposit because the amount is not available until you have cancelled the credit card. My credit limit is 100k ,100%, not 50% of secured deposit. Priority boarding by showing the Air Asai card or Bangkok Bank app with a picture of the card. -

Google spreadsheet. There are youtube tutorial videos, for exemple: -
Long term capital gains have been taxed at coorperate level before they were distributed to individual investors. At individual level we get a tax break. 0% up to about $47,000, then 15% up to about $400,000. Top rate is 20%. There is also 3.8% "obama care tax" for high earners, all together it's still much less then the 35% Thai tax rate. Kamala is pushing 28% top rate, still a hard sell. Only a crazy government would tax capital gain at 35% .

In the bathroom and kitchen ceiling I use LED 6w circular panel. In the kitchen under cabinet light is a must. IKEA has a nice under cabinet light set but i just use a small tube from Homepro. Bedrooms and living room I have LED MR16 3W-5W (see pictures below), which I seldom turn on. Table lamps with fabric lamp shades are much better.

world wide income taxation update
Thailand J replied to Presnock's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I have read the article, very few useful info. It appears that TRD is targeting overseas earned income and overseas private fund inventing income. Overseas mutual fund investment income will not be taxed, which is the opposite of what used to be. -
