Thailand aims to be among top five Asian tech ecosystems
kickstart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thay want to walk before they can run, the reason Thai rice yields are so low is to do with the soil being so infertile, just monoculture rice very little if any input in the land to make it more fertile all it gets is bagged fertilizer, with the price of that now, that has been reduced. Farmers what to go back to basics grow some crops that can put some organic matter back into the land make it more fertile than crop yields will increase. Just forget AI, for now come back in 10 years when soil fertility increases then it might be of some use. Where it could work is in research, breeding new rice verities, higher yields, more dieses resistance but that will take some time ,Thailand is researching for new verities of rice, but other countries are way ahead, Thailand has got a lot of catching up to do. -

Anyone see Michale Jackson back in 1996 ,he should have done two concerts. but canceled the second one, Thai media were all over him for 3-4 days known here as Michael Jackson super star. -
Read that article ,has the author actually been to Thailand and seen Thai farming? reading it give the impression that all rice farmers grow three crops a year ,ask our Essan farmers about that.one crop a year I live in a big maize /corn growing area very little burning, and it give the impression again that corn farmers are in debt big time to the big agriculture conglomerates, when in fact it is the BAAC bank, known as the farmers and co-op bank a government bank is where the farmers debt is ,a quick look at Google very little corn is exported from Thailand. They are other facts not so true, all done by Google and AI?

Can you call it a real by election with only a 36 and a 37% turn out, Labour will be happy. This Reform UK party, got 13% of the vote, may be like the Liberals do well at byelections but fail miserably at the general elections, a case of watch this space?? -

I am in Lopburi provinces one of the mentioned provinces, near me a big mountain 12 km from us normally you can see without any problem but today, I was with in 6km and I still could not see it, just a fog, first time in a lot of years it has been like this. A lot of it is the locales Burning the roadside verges, and they are a lot of it, not cane farmers burning cane as no cane is bunt in this area and very little rice is grown ,no burnt rice fields, it seems a combination of weather patterns and burning. -
For us every day ,the wife is a good cook, a lot of fish dishes, living in the sticks a bit limited on farang food. But we often have Chile con carne with baked spuds, makes a change, and I do like my own bread and home make marmalade for breakfast, a bit of both worlds.

Head gasket gone,60k is over the top, it may be just head gasket, but the head could be warped, it will need checking, if it is, they can be skimmed, if it over warped then a new head is required, that could be expensive. Take to another place see what they say. -
UK Considers Aircraft Carrier Deployment to Red Sea as Tensions Rise

Is Sunak doing a" Maggie", the Falkland's war was in 1982, in the 1983 election the Conservatives won, a lot said it was the Falkland's factor that won it. Fast forward to now, the present Conservatives government are dead meat, Boris and Covid, No 10 parties etc., Sunnak is not doing well, is he thinking let's sort these Houthi rebels out make the Red sea safe and we will win the next election. He has got two hopes, no hope and Bob Hope, the economy is not good some are going to say what is all this costing the UK payer, some will say we should not be they at all, not our problem, others will say why us, and no other countries helping out. -
Suvarnabhumi Airport Boosts Capacity with New Runway

At this time, they is never enough staff at the immigration desks, most are nearly always empty. If the new terminal has all the "facilities", if they have they own immigration, will that include an immigration officer at each desk 24/7, I am not holding my breath. -
As far as I know? if you cut wood on your own property, they is no limit to bar size. But, if you cut wood on someone else's property or say beside a road the bar size is 12 inches, that is why you see so many 12-inch bars around on chainsaws ,and if you buy a new chainsaw, it is normally fitted with a 12 bar. The guys with the big 36-inch jobs should all be licensed. Re sharping, I use a file with a guide to get the angle right, and another guide for the rakers both available on Lazada, and my saw when I brought it, is a Chinese job, it was fitted with a Chinese chain, crap, found a place near me sells genuine Stihl chains, makes a big difference. Do not ask me about the legality on the saw in the photo, home made from an 7inch angle grinder motor, bar is 36 inches, have seen one being used, planking some trees!, as far as I know he is still alive!

PM Highlights Drug Crisis in His Parliament Address
kickstart replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
At the moment Yar Bar is about 4 tablets for 100 baht, some say it has never been so cheap, been that price for some time now. You see reports on here about drug busts/seizures lots of smart BIB standing around with the bust in front of them, but we never see or hear of any of these drugs being destroyed, it a case of in the fount door out the back door. When our Thucksin was PM he did away with a lot of the drug dealers, it did work they were less drugs on the street, then the coup, one reason that was said, the army generals were losing a lot of income selling drugs in Thailand that were made in Burma, so they decided he must go. Near where we live 7-8 years ago, an army general brought some land, not cheap, and built some houses, to be sold on, must be, up to press 15 , and still building, did not know they army salary was so high. PM Inspects Suvarnabhumi Airport Without Prior Notice
kickstart replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I do not know about overhauling immigration, when I come through last November, at 8.00am, like all the other times, I would say half? of the immigration booths where open. Just having say 80%? open would help the queuing problem no end, time to get staffing sorted out. I have never had problems with taxi drives at the airport...................just do not use them, I always use the train service very reliable and cheap, takes you right in to the city, then I might use a taxi, or more likely, the BTS which is a good service. -
We have the same problem, I installed an in-line assister pump on the incoming water pipe, we nonmale just use it for showers, and the washing machine, it is a Clinton 1/2hp pump all of 1500 baht from our local builder's merchant, works well, have had to replace the pressure switch. No problem in sucking up dirt or anything, shower head /washing machine filler never blocked up, as we are in a rural area with a few houses, our water tower is only 500 yards up the road, other houses are not staved of water, they are all in the same problem no water pressure.

Thai emission laws transform: What drivers need to know
kickstart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I would have said the same thing, fuel pump been opened out. But I have seen a lot of old vehicles belching black smoke, due to lack maintenance probably no money for servicing, ie worn injectors, blocked air cleaner, even pump timing out. As has been said if the test centers and police do they job that would help the problem. -
You have just got to wait for them to ripen, nothing to do with verity, Holland or Kek-Dum ,the two most popular verity's, they are others , they will ripen quicker in the hot season, than during the rainy/cool season.

Try ppfence.co, they use to sell them. Or a new company I found a few weeks ago, jsfence.co.th Looking at them it would not take a lot to make some, give a Thai welder a picture, I am certain he could make some.

Thy do they are two steel mills near me one in Lopburi province the other in Singburi province, and they are others. around the country Our Lopburi mill uses old scrap steel, to make new steel using ark fusion, not coal/coke powered furnaces. Have noticed lately that our plant is now making more channel iron steel, when then they first opened 1997, thay only make steel wire, and have done up to the past 2-3 eras, as the OP said it is China making cheap steel.

Thailand’s government pushes for 500-billion-baht loan to boost economy
kickstart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They back in 1997, they had no choice but to go cap-in -hand to the World Bank and the IMF, that was due to 2 Thai PM's who thought they could just spend all the money, then it economy was growing at 7% plus a year. Now, this new guy thinks he can just spend, the 500 billon D-Wallet, plus other spending, as said in 97 the economy was growing well, now with a forecast of 1.8% GDP growth, a slow action train crash in the making. -
Are they, you have a drive around and see all the rows empty lock ups, near me on a very main road must be 80% empty, some have been built 10 years now, a few get rented out for a business, but within a year or so, they give up, some near me are asking 2 million baht plus for a selling price. No such thing as a free lunch, most are built on borrowed money someone has to pay it back. And they are still building more, not as many as before, it is not all roses around the porches in the province's.

Red sea conflicts could disrupt global trade, Thai economy at risk
kickstart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Problem is most of the ships being attacked have nothing to do with Israel, most are sailing on flags of convince ie sip on Saturday attacked was flagged in the Marshall Islands, how do the Houthi's. actuary know where a ship is going. As has been said Iran is behind it all, it seems if the attack on the Houthi's is not having a lot of effete.
