Funny. Remember me of my 1st Visa extention in 2004 at Suan Phlu in Bangkok. At that time, there was no local Immigration in Korat. My wife, my daughter and me went to Suan Phlu for my "Spouse Visa" extension. While processing my application, one of the officers invited my wife to a separate room. On returning, she said that it was OK for now but my next appplication would not be so easy if I kept threating her this way. Flabbergasted, when I arrived home I asked my wife what the Immigration officer meant with that and her answer was "I don't know". The next year, my wife was invited again for a chat with the Immigration officer. On her return, the officer said that my extension was refused on the ground that I didn't provide enough support for her parents and her son (from a previous marriage). I went home, booked a trip to Belgium and on my return I applied for a "Retirement" visa.

When was your last visit to Spain (if ever)? Most of the shops are open from 10am to 8pm. Big outlets like Marcadonna, Aldi, Lidl, etc. are open from 10am to 10 pm and offer home delivery (internet shopping). Lots of little shops are open 24/24 hr, kind of like 7/11 shops. Several "mom & dad" shops are open from early morning to late night and will deliver when it is in the neighborhood.

Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) Success Faces an Uncertain Future
Confuscious replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No need to report anything. Your whole financial state is disclosed to Thailand in the ... agreement between both countries. -
I have no plans to play that game. I will stay here 179 days and travel to other countries as long as I can. Travel as a tourist with the health care insurance of my country. Besides that, my country has double tax agreements with almost every country.

Go-to Pattaya or any tourist place in Thailand and look how many girls/boys are calling for customers half naked in the streets. Guess they were not playing football with your lads? -

It's engrained in the Thai culture. From Kindergarten to the coffin, Thai people are learnt to show respect for their superiors. I have seen Thai children crawling over the floor like cockroaches to five their sheet to the teacher. And keep all times their head down. In the TV news you can see much older people doing the same. That's Thai culture. I have seen children attend every week monks preaching at the school grounds and at the end give the monks a little plastic bag with a bottle of water and some fruit or food. From their pocket money. Show respect to the monks. Open your eyes and stop fooling yourself. That is Thailand. -
Most of the English people and other nationalities I meet here are living here full time and have purchased a nice apartment or house in THEIR OWN NAME.
-
I had exactly the same experience when I came to korat It was not the doctors or hospital fault, but the fault that I was convinced that my wife knew English and was translating everything well. It came out that her translation was completely wrong and that she was trying to save a few baht. From that day on, I didn't use my "walking translator" anymore.

That's my point of view on life as well. As long as life keeps being somewhat enjoyable, it's worth to cling to keep living. But as soon as being alive becomes a burden to yourself and/or others, it's better to stop the medication and the doctors and leave this place quietly. About 3 years ago, my ex-wife in Belgium was hospitalised again. Every year, as winter set in, she had respiration troubles and was hanging the winter on a respiration device. This time, she signed a paper asking not to be put on machines. She died in her sleep, very quitly. Without suffering. I hope that when my time comes, I can do the same.

Is this your friend? Johan Namwongsa Things are given away / sold cheaply! I have just bought a restaurant and it was a Spanish restaurant but is now to be remodeled and adapted to a Thai restaurant. Now I have cleaned out all the things and know what I need to get rid of. Come to old restaurant El Bocaito at Calle Isabel La Catolica 22, Alicante if you are interested in these things you see in the pictures. We do not have time to respond to messages on messenger or answer questions you ask on this post. Everything is taken on site at the address I provided above.

Where death is expected, I will get a second opinion and be glad if I can live a few months or years more without suffering. A friend of mine, living in Korat, was diagnosed with Cancer. After a few botchered surgeries and several VooDoo treatments, he died after 3 months of suffering and agony. ONLY because he made the mistake to accept the wisdom from a few keyboard warriors in the Facebook group about Dutch expatriates about the healthcare in Belgium. He asked me how I managed to get a new Pacemaker in Belgium as I was residing in Thailand. Another friend who was also living in Thailand and was diagnosed with Cancer in his brain returned to Belgium (6 years ago) and is still alive. As I said already, "UP TO YOU".

As far as I remember, all the Brits were bragging about "BREXIT". UK would be the superpower as it had been before. UK would show Europe that they don't need the EU. UK health care was one of the best in the world. Looks like BREXIT was not so good for the UK and their citizens after all.

Pattaya parents outraged after teacher attacks 12 year old boy

At the time I was a teacher (1971 to 1975), it was commonly accepted that school kids would get a slap on the back of their head or a tick with a ruler on their hands when they would push it beyond the acceptable limits. The concensus was that you would harm a child more by words than by giving a light physical correction. Telling a child that he was useless, he was a street child with no education, etc. could induce a negative behavior in a child that would last far longer as the slap on their hands. -
The disaster in Valencia was very bad, but the same place was flooded in the past a few times and officially it was not allowed to be built in
-
The weather disasters like in Valencia or Barcelona are very isolated disasters. In fact, Valencia City, a few kilometers separated of the Typhoon zone didn't even had a drop of rain. Lucky, a lot of Spanish and foreigners went to help and everything goes very fast. Not like the tsunami in Thailand where helpers ware asked to have a work permit

I moved to Spain.
-
Pro Friendly people (even government workers), the language, the food, decent footpaths and curtuous road users, the Spanish mentality in general (always ready to help). Not so pro Missing my circle of friends of 25 years, missing the easy and super cheap lifestyle
-
Most of this is happening behind their back without being aware of it. Real fools

My bank was also Belfius
-
Again, the complete saga with my bank in Belgium has been very documentaires in the thread about taxes. I received a message, with a copy of what they had send to Thailand, that they had disclosed a lot of information about my account and my credit cards as was asked by the Thai government under the????? internationaal agreements I have my residency in Thailand (which is known by the Belgian government) and I don't have a tax id number in Thailand

In Thailand u could hardly walk 100 meter. Bad footpaths, footpaths mostly occupied by street vendors, motorcycles riding on the footpaths, etc I am now 6 days in Spain and I walked every day about 1 km with my walker and I feel much better
