  1. here's my tenpenny worth.... All 3 are large scooters (many have said they're like riding an old bathtub) Too big, heavy, bulky and dificult to park in cities like BKK, Pattaya and CM Forza and X Max have dreadful ergonomics (the ADV 350 is like you are riding an auto dirt bike) ..... Forza and X Max have dreadful suspension.. Out of the city all 3 are ok, but if you want to do long distances, you would be better off buying a larger geared bike ..... Not sure where any of them fit in - If i has to choose one - It would be the ADV 350 - but in the real world the ADV 150/160 is better (and cheaper) ..... .
  2. i dread to think how much attention to detail the owner does for his 1,200 baht per month ! - prob just changes the oil ! - let me know your T shirt size so i cand let you have a "I Told You So " T Shirt when the brakes fail and you hit the back of a truck with a 100b helmet on yer head ..... Who in their right mind would want to ride about on a 35,000km s hagger anyway ??
  3. how much were they charging to take a medium size motor bike on the plane ? Exactly ....
  4. On the subject of condoms .... Does anyone know where you can buy "Small Pecker" condoms on-line ?? - (asking for a friend)
  5. Depends how big your condo is i guess ......
  6. i know loads and loads of English / Aus expats that live in naklua .... It's the "English" style stuff we'd be interested in not German.... I'm sure we'll be regular visitors when Cheap Charlies Naklua opens it's doors.
  7. Got chatting to a bloke in a bar last night and he's friends with the Owner of "Cheap Charlies" Restaurant in Soi Bukkou (and Jomtien) - Reckons they are opening up on the Naklua Road, in the old Kiss Food place..... If this is true, it will be a welcome addition to the area...There hasn't been anything like this since "World Of Sport" shut it's doors 8 or 9 years ago... Remember you heard it here first....
  8. INMHO 55b for a can of coke is far too much for a "pub" style restaurant - i reccon 30p is a resonable price .....
  9. A while back, i used a place on the sukhumvit not from Highway 36 - Are they still there ? Are there any other auction places around pattaya ?
  10. He came to Thailand with a million quid (UK pounds) after a sucessful career in the UK insurance industry - A few divorces later, he was down to his last 300,000 quid - Determined that he wasn't going to loose that - he invested in a wizz bang Australian investment sceme, which offered high returns - Ultimately this turned out to be a scam and he was pretty much potless..... He tried writing, selling Thai goods and exporting them, even opened a bar over the Darkside - but none of them amounted to much - All through this his health got worse and worse, so fair play to him, he threw the towel in and headed back to the UK with his lady / step daughter - At least in the UK he got free health treatment and numerous free benefits, so managed to carve out an "ok" life in his remaining years..... Someone should write a book about his capers - would be a best seller .....
  11. if it were up to me, people with loud exhausts would be hung by the neck until they put the standard pipe(s) back on ....
  12. nothing better ? - you obviously haven't visited foxy chix a go-go then ...
  13. if your bike is under 3 years old - it should be covered by the 3 year guarantee from yamaha (it's a knows fault) - yamaha main scooter dealers are just down from the 2 gas stations on teppasit road (towards jomtien, same side of the road).... if it's over 3 years old, there are places that can fix it - have a look on facebook market place - i think the going rate is 500 baht (as apposed to 4,000b for replacing the unit with a new one...) .
  14. That post should win an award - well done sir !
  15. i sat on one at the dealers and agree "it's larger than i expected" - Nearer in size to the X-ADV 750 than the ADV 150 - More's the pitty ..... no point even thinking about one at the moment though - realistically it will be late June / early July before they are awash in the dealer's showrooms ...
  16. OP - The best English breakfast in Pattaya is at Kungs in Soi Lenkee.... Unlike a lot of places that buy in their sausages/bacon from Makro, Kungs makes/cures their own (choice of 10 different types of sausages no less) - They even make their own hash browns...... all come with free, quality filter coffee .... No where i've tried even comes close for quality/value for money.. https://www.facebook.com/kungshotsausage
  17. wasn't a wise move for them...way to far for their existing customers to travel to, and not a lot going on round there either ..... I tried it once - but the road noise put me right off .....
  18. Same in Pattaya - I took the cash and tried to buy the dealers display bike, which they refused. They too said "May" - but gut feeling is that because of huge demand, it's more likely to be late June / early July .....
  19. There was a rumour circulating that Poppa Al had a "semi" last week, not sure if it's true ...
  20. you might have handed one over, but they don't acually need for renewals - did mine (5Y to 5Y) 2 months back - car an bike together - 1 original residency cert plus copy - no medical certs - no prob. walked out with my 2 new licences ....
