Working for a UK Firm in Thailand
bbi1 replied to Tally Ho's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do you have a work permit? If not, you are working illegally. Either ask them to provide you a work permit or find another company who will provide you a work permit. You pay taxes here in Thailand. -
Thais entering Thailand on an expired passport
bbi1 replied to stament's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Of course he could enter Thailand on his British passport, as far as it has 6 month's validity left on it. -
I'm also a tourist too, on a METV and spending money in Thailand. My tourist visa says the same from Sydney, except it's multiple entry. Is Sydney switching to the Evisa system in the coming years or will they still go with the physical visa sticker? That's the best method, the physical visa sticker imo as we've heard stories of people with the Evisa applications having some problems when applying online.

I thought you're not allowed to smile at the camera but just have a netural facial expression. Are smiles allowed?

Once I got a number of questions by the female IO at the fast track, on a business class ticket. This after being out of the country for 3 years during the Covid period and just when Thailand was starting to open up, in October 2022. I was on a visa exempt entry as that time they were giving 45 days, instead of 30 days. After a few questions, I was stamped in. Maybe the problems are if you use the Fast Track lane, more questions as it's completely empty with nobody using them so they're bored with time to chat and question people. The normal lanes they don't have any time to chat, as there are millions of people waiting to get stamped into the country, especially at this time of the year as there seems to be soooooo many foreigners here in Thailand.

Doesn't sound weird at all. It makes perfect sense. Yes, clearly the OP should be on a retirement visa as that's the correct visa for over 50's who with to spend significant time in Thailand. METV should be saved for younger folks who aren't allowed to be on a retirement visa due to age discrimination.
-
Did you go to a male IO or female IO at BKK? Lots of people advise avoiding female IOs.

A load of BS. I know loads of Lao & Cambodian people doing visa runs every 30 days to stay here for many years already, and continue to do so without any hassles. Not once have they been questioned or had any issues whatsoever. There are a number of visa run companies who are doing them for those nationalities.
-
That's probably exactly why you had issues. You're over the age of 50 and really should be on a retirement visa. Leave the METV for the younger folks who aren't able to get a retirement visa due to age discrimination of the Thai government. Lots of younger folks could easily do a 800k in the bank while there are lots of old folks doing the dodgy dodgy agent & immigration bribes because they can't do a 800k in the bank qualification.

Same with nearly all other prostitutes. As far as you give them money, most of them will say you are handsum man, even if you are an old, ugly, super obese, hairy, bald, old man.

Thailand Plans Year-End Ban on Recreational Cannabis
bbi1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No, because that shiit stinks badly. And the juristic office staff agrees with it that smoking weed on the balconies or in rooms "is very bad", to quote their words. -

Would be great if they banned all smoking or made a room for all the smokers to smoke only to enjoy their ways. That being said, weed/marijuana/ganja really stinks so badly and gives an instant headache when it comes into your room. -
I see tons of super obese fat farangs with swollen feet from diabetes all over Pattaya all the time, who always look like a hell of a mess. Ladyboys, they were probably the culprits if true. Why would anyone in their right mind come anywhere near those things?

Thailand Plans Year-End Ban on Recreational Cannabis
bbi1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They should've banned that from the 1st Jan 2024, not the end of the years. Too many waankers smoking that shiit in the condo balconies in Pattaya in my building, and that shiit blows everywhere into my room and stinks up my room. Good thing though is the juristic office doesn't stand for that shiit and report those waankers and they get fined. Too many Air BnB type waankers think they can do whatever they want without respect to others in the building. -
Didn't the cops own Swing? They raided their own establishment?

Heatwave alert in Thailand with temperatures hitting 39 degrees Celsius
bbi1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Weather was absolutely beautiful this morning all the way until 11:30am, also quite cloudy. Afternoon was very breezy and right now at 3:30pm, weather is still nice using just a fan in my room. Weather is exactly the same as it usually is every other day. -
Steamy side of Internet in Thailand: Adult sites climb charts
bbi1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Seems like a lot of people are trying to search for Twitter, it seems. Never knew Twitter, now called X, was so popular here. -
Where do you get long-term rentals for 1,200/month? What type of bike? Are we talking about a very old beat-up Honda click 125cc or Honda Scoopy?

No charging option in condo - Need advice
bbi1 replied to Dewey's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
That's why the OP and his other EV lovers should offer to foot the bill for an EV charhing station in the condo. I'm wondering if he offered to pay for it? -
No charging option in condo - Need advice
bbi1 replied to Dewey's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Did you and/or other owners try to offer to pay for the installation of an EV charging station at your condo? If not, that would be the smart option. -
Maybe Thailand should follow Korea and be more selective of expats/tourists
bbi1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Talking about soi Buakhao and surrounding areas, lots of waankers crossing the road without looking without a care in the world. So many times these waankers have nearly gotten run over by motorbikes or cars because of their selfish idiotic ways. Get rid of those trash who don't bother looking before crossing. Ban them from coming to Thailand.
