Hopefully not coming back to work here again without a work permit?
-
Why are they asking you for 100 baht when exiting Laos? I was once asked for 20 baht when exiting Laos the very 1st time I went there, whereas nobody else before me was asked for any money.

If the valve needs to be replaced, surely it would be the landlords responsibility as this has nothing to do with the tenant as it's a fixture into the building of the existing plumbing? Maybe I'll just buy a new bum gun and ask the condo technician to fix it.
-
How long do you have to hold the lever to activate the nozzle to release the remaining pressure? I held it for over a minute after closing the bum gun valve, and the water just keeps on dripping out of the nozzle at a decent pace. If I stop holding the lever, the water just keeps dripping down the side of the hose. The bum gun valve has been fully closed. Do I also need to fully close the next valve that supplies water to the toilet cistern too?
-
The problem is, even when completely turning off the valve for the bum gun, the bum gun still leaks water the exact same as when the valve is on. I would've thought turning off the value would stop any water from going into the bum gun therefore no leak from it.
-
Does the technician need to turn off all the water to the whole condo room from the valve outside or can you just turn off the valve for the bum gun next to the toilet when changing it?
-
If the bum gun in the bathroom is leaking / broken, is this the owner's responsibility or the tenant's responsibility to buy a new one and put the new one in? I would've thought it's the owner's responsibility as the tenant has moved in and it was in working state. I think the tenant's responsibility is only for changing light bulbs if they become fused. Correct me if I'm wrong?

They were wearing police uniforms and also traffic police uniforms and they had their police car parked just behind the Bentley, therefore you would assume they were "actual cops"

How much is the going rate for cops to be personal bodyguards / escorts? Is it an hourly rate, daily rate or monthly rate? I'm curious to know as it got me thinking after a few days ago I saw a few cops doing this for an elderly Chinese man getting out of his Bentley before leading him into his Chinese restaurant. I presume he's the owner of that Chinese restaurant right next to Royal Garden Plaza on 2nd Rd. The one with two expensive luxury cars parked in front of that restaurant. Anyone here knows the costs involved to hire their services?

Lithuanian man fined 12,000 baht for drifting BMW in Chon Buri

Yes, there definitely have traffic police in Pattaya. They are playing personal bodyguards / escorts to rich folks. Saw a couple of them doing this to the owner of that Chinese restaurant right next to Royal Garden Plaza on 2nd Rd a few nights ago. The one with two expensive luxury cars parked in front of that restaurant. Wonder how much it costs for personal bodyguard protection by the cops. Anyone here knows the costs involved to hire their services? -
$40USD and $1 overtime fee on weekends, but I don't bother with that. I just get the eVisa for $50 plus a bit extra for credit card fees on top.

Renew passport in Australia
bbi1 replied to Ken444's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Of course you can renew your Oz passport while in Oz. There are 10's of thousands of Aussies who do that each year. -
Never thought about this before. I would imagine this would be the same requirement with every country around the world, doesn't matter on nationality of the parent or kid or which airport in the world you are at, correct? What happens if one of the parents has passed away or one of them is a deadbeat who disappeared and wants nothing to do with the kid? What happens in those circumstances at any airport around the world? Kid can't fly and has to stay in whatever country they are in?

What documents are required at jomtiem ?
bbi1 replied to Finspin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
One more thing, you can only apply for an extension of stay one business day prior to your stamp expiry at Jomtien. Don't waste your time like I did multiple times trying to apply earlier: -
Exactly, a complete waste of a day and money having to do that. They should make it easy for the under 50's to stay in Thailand and spend money here, not having them to go in and out every 90 days when on a tourist visa. A one year tourist visa without having to leave the country would make sense and easier for tourists to come here and spend their money.

TM30 Required for Tourist Extension
bbi1 replied to Serenity_Now's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Nothing to do with TM6, which is still needed for any land crossings. TM30 have been around for soooooooooooooo many years if you wanted to extend. Soooooo many years prior to Covid. I recall needing to do them in 2017 onwards for extensions. -
Can do it all within one hour or less. Exit Thailand, enter Laos. Walk around the other side to exit Laos then enter Thailand. Ask your taxi driver/Grab/Indrive driver to wait for you on the Thailand side for one hour. He'll be very happy to have a fare back to Udon Thani airport rather than waiting a few hours or not getting a fare at all back to Udon. You can get an Indriver dude to do the round trip from Udon Thani airport and back for around 800 baht.

Is that for all banks or only a specific bank? -
Should I close my Thai bank accounts?
bbi1 replied to CartagenaWarlock's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Isn't there a minimum balance required to be kept in a bank account at Krungsri or Kasiborn and if there are no transactions within a certain short period of time, it becomes a dormant bank account plus then you get charged monthly fees until all your money is wiped out? -
Not sure about if staying in Thailand and travelling internally. But if you do leave, each and every time you come back to Thailand and stay at the same address even on the same visa, you must do a TM30 at Jomtien Immigration. Don't listen to some dude in Phuket, you are not dealing with Phuket immigration.

Ladyboy-Led Heist: Korean Tourist Loses 200,000 Baht Gold Necklace in Pattaya
bbi1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Ladyboys are getting a lot more brazen these days to target a man who's with his Thai "companion", or was the Thai "companion" in on the act and friends with the ladyboy? A 51-year-old tourist from Korea, Mr. Seongmu Heo, along with his 43-year-old Thai companion, Ms. Surat Konin, found themselves ensnared in a daring incident of theft in Pattaya. -
