I find that tiger balm is quite effective on mosquito bites. After scratching application of the tiger balm will sting for a few seconds then all irritation subsides.

Fifa Threatens To Cut Off Live World Cup Broadcast Over Infringement

Most villagers don't have access to the 'net so they need the football to be on TV but then I think most villagers would prefer to watch buffalo racing. -

Agreed. Commentators put their own personal slant on what you are watching an besides, if you go to a live match it is free of interfering, worn out catchphrases.

That's k'mer magic ju-ju bone rattling secret stuff which is known only to the village elder. Me being the outsider never gets to know such sensitive information.

All this lizard/Gecko nonsense happened to me. Cost was 2,000 Baht for a replacement board. My wife said we need to install a small muslin bag of assorted herbs & spices to keep the little b'grs away. Never had a problem since.

A Lithium (LiFePO4) cell if treated reasonably well, will last < 3 years to < 20 years. The amount of environmental cost is minimal on that time scale. Better to look at the environmental cost of the humble lead acid battery in your car. Agreed there is much to do to reduce power generation environmental impact. For me the simpler solution is to get away from national grid distribution networks and make many local mini grids using flow batteries for ESS to provide night time power.

Probably not much help but you could try a shoe repairer (I hesitate top say cobbler on this forum). There are plenty of good ones with stitching and gluing skills working on every (almost) corner.

New passport stamps transfer
Muhendis replied to luicks's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
WHAT? FREE? I must get over to you local friendly place ASAP or rather as soon as my new passport turns up. My local Imm. office told me it would be 500 Baht or did I completely misunderstand your post ???? -
If my memory serves me well, dark rooms only need to be absolutely dark when handling unprocessed film (Film handling would normally be done in a light proof bag). Normally the room would be lit with amber/red subdued lighting so if the indicator lights on the air con. are red, they are probably ok.

On shopee and on Lazada I was looking for a new tyre for my bicycle and found the size I wanted for 320 Baht but when I went to the shopping basket the price was 760 Baht. That is the price of the tyre not including the shipping cost. I bought it in a local cycle shop for 275 Baht + travel costs.

Crane collapse at construction site - no injuries but extensive damage
Muhendis replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Steady on. They are very good at 'elf 'n safety I had the guys wearing safety flip flops when they built my house. -
Great information, thanks for that but sadly your information would have been of practical use over 10 years ago. My concerns then were that the ACC did not seem strong enough to hang things on. As it is I have no problems attaching anything to my clay brick walls so I'm not too concerned. But if I were to do it again........

That's an interesting collection of thermal conductivity numbers. https://www.buildingtalk.com/improving-insulation-by-lowering-thermal-conductivity/ I new there was a way to calculate the insulating properties when I had my house built but building materials is not my forte so Is settled for the filled cavity and the (almost) sturdy red clay bricks. What I do know is that with the sun shining full blast on the outer wall it is hot to the touch. placing my hand on the inside wall on the same location and the wall feels cool to touch which suits me just fine.

No. I don't have any of those in relation to the cavity wall insulation. I'm not sure what you mean by "capped to prevent ingress" but the construction of the house is such that nothing has access to the cavity. It is a typical frame construction of rc pillars and beams with the walls filling up the areas top to bottom in between. Any access for water and electrics which goes through the cavity is well sealed. We do have plenty of small animals that live in and around the garden but apart from the occasional snake which sneaks in through the open doors, they tend to stick to their own territory which unfortunately includes my rice storage barn ????.
