  1. I know this doesnt come under BOGOF or is related to drink but the other day in a large supermarket on Sukukvit I bought a tube of Snax crisps for 39 baht next to it was a double pack offering 2 Snax crisps for 79 Baht.

This same supermarket has been written about in the UK press for offering 'specials' that were more expensive than buying the articles separatetly.

. It seems that the leaf doesnt fall far from the tree.

  2. What does the law say about closing hours?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I think the law states that entertainment bars etc, have to close at 2pm and this hasn't changed for years.

What might have changed is the enforcement due to the BiB not getting paid.

  3. I was having a drink in this well known bar the other day when I noticed an advert for "London Pride". As someone who has drunk lots of "London Pride " over the years in tthe uk I ordered one.

Imagine my surprize when I asked for another to be told that you only get one for the price. So its not "bogof" its only that if you order specific drinks.

    Buyer beware.

  4. They really do know how to <deleted> up thier tourist industry

I would say tourists are not a big concern for them right now. I know we like to feel important, but there are more important matters for them to concern themselves with - like putting a working government in place.

But really, I didn't see much damage to the tourist industry after the 2006 coup, long airport closure and several riots in Bangkok. It will survive this unscathed. They always seem to return in bigger numbers after every "calamity".

Shutting tousist venues is no big deal, unless your a tourist. You have just spent Hundreds if not thousands on your holiday and you dont expect to end up in a country with either martial law or a military coup. So you go home and tell your friends dont bother to go to that ****ed up place. Its a waste of money.

  5. I am not sure where to post this. So Rimmer please change if you feel the need.

Last year (on extention of retirement visa) I was asked for the first time for proof of address . I offered a copy of my phone bill (normally used for 90 day) and was told it wasnt good enough. They asked for a copy of my rental agreement which I dont have as its a private agreement between me and my ex wife and I live there rent free ( she by the way lives in the UK). It was my 7th extention and had never been asked before. Eventually they settled for a copy of my Driving Licence.

Which I though was strange considering that the basis for the address on the licence comes from my telephone bill (via a Certificate of Residence). Any way on to today.

This afternoon I went to do my 90 day but was told this time I didnt have 90 days only 49 days and when I came in to extentend my Visa on July 2nd I should report to the 90 day desk again afterwards. This has never happened before either.

Has anybody any ideas about the changes or was I just caught up in 2 officers whims.

  6. For years I have had regular blood tests. My Creatinine has always been between 1 and 1.2. The last test a month ago was 1.2 this time it was 1.6. Could this be a hiccup.

Should I go straight to the Doctors or wait a couple of weeks and have another test to see the results. When not going to the hospital I use a private clinic.

If its any help the tests are because of my blood pressure, cholesterol levels and the drugs I take to control them.
