  1. I'd be checking with PEA.....many countries this sort of thing is highly illegal. If it is illegal, you might get away with it for a while but eventually they'll smell a rat and you could be up for whopping great penalty fees.
  2. Go for the Sanyo Eneloops...usually around the AU$25 for 4 cells. (2000mAh) Can also buy with charger included at extra cost....total around AU$55.00
  3. There are some aspects of your drawing that are incorrect depending on the following........... Are the buildings all on one land title? Is the main metering either one 3 phase or three 1 phase meters, or are there separate meters for the two distribution boards..? Either way, earthing for #2 board should originate at the #2 board, not the earth stake of somewhere along the way. There are other issues as well depending on you answers to the above.
  4. I imagine the balcony is solid concrete...??? Level feet as suggested above and make sure the lock nuts are tightened also............... Have seen autos on springy wooden floors walk out the door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKpGtZYfqpM
  5. They really need to jump on this crap and ban it once and for all. Same in Aus. Created quite a story on weekend TV current affairs program, mainly because of the obvious targeting of young kids. Calls for it to be banned outright here in Aus. Thing is, certain aspects of it are currently illegal but business as usual, nothing to see here.
  6. Last entry, officer asked where I was staying (first night) and I said the hotel name and location. He did not recognise the hotel name until I called the wife in (Thai) who was next in line, who had a slightly different accent on the name and then there was a 2 minute chit chat about who knows what. Lot of smiles etc. so can only guess it was a throwback at my pronunciation.????
  7. One would have to wonder why we can't grow and cook our own. Has to be an exchange of some description. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Just goes to show, the mob in charge here have learnt nothing from the covid situation.
  8. Good luck with either of those...they are REALLY slow to respond, if ever. Best just check the Aus government website for requirements. or here....... https://www.thaiembassy.com/australian-visa/australian-tourist-visa Appears that as long as passport is current for entry and exit periods, then all ok. You'll find out when you apply for the visa I guess. I'd be covering my ass and renew it now. ????
  9. Must be SOME fizzy drink............ The words" over action" come to mind here. AND...."what a load of BS"...........????????????
  10. This is a killer for the everyday Thai and their ability to access affordable property.
  11. Considered DIY..?? Easy as falling off a log , if you can pull through a cable and push a couple of connectors together. Although, if you are upgrading, the original cabling should still be ok. Then there are wireless camera options, although you still need power so I could never see the point.
  12. Work on about 10 million or more homes here in Aus...actually a mandatory install.
  13. One does not need an "engineer" to come to those conclusions. Buildings are same same all over Thailand with zero engineering standard requirement or certification. It's the way things work here.
  14. Talking of RTAF, did they find what caused the crash of the CT4 with an instructor and student a few weeks back. Something doesn't sound right there (on landing approach) for the solid and reliable aircraft they are.
  15. Use the argument my parents always used to use when I was a kid.............. this is for the times I didn't catch you. Think youself lucky and move on. Arguing with police could be looked on as a rather dick*** move.
  16. and who doesn't have a printer these day....? one i guess........ ????
  17. And...just like in Aus, where or what are they going to use to charge the ruddy things? Julian Islet showed last month how he visited over 70 recharge stations and ALL but one were not working........???? Cost is prohibitive for many Aussies , how the hell are Thai going to handle that?
  18. mmmm...first paragraph...."may trigger the disease"....... I'm guessing they don't really know but sounds good for another "sue the beggers" and get some free money. I imagine after a few million in court costs, they'll find out one way or the other. Just makes one wonder why they don't bear this themselves "before" sticking it to the "old days".
  19. Not the type the op is referring to. Probably not given the layout of the pipes you show above. I use them on any wall mount install we do and they work really well. Best get the air con fellas in to do it for you. They are relatively cheap in Thailand and well worth it if you consider the cost if you dislodge a sealed flare joint.
  20. Wife of a friend of mine spent $900 last week in Aus on haircut for her and the granddaughter. Mine is $20.....not much hair left but still................. Just plain ridiculous, no sense ........... Meanwhile house insurance goes up 65% two years in a row. Everyday groceries up almost 50% on most staples. Reserve bank trying to put a hold on inflation while the banks and others keep offering incentives for people to spend money they don't have....crazy stuff They REALLY need to get rid of this government here.
  21. That average chart is WAYYYYY out....average Aussie woman is 72kg....yeah, right, each leg.
  22. Track lines back to the transformer, there will almost certainly be a star point earth wire at that pole.
