Don Mueang airport’s escalator accident not caused by poor maintenance
bluejets replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The escalators all need a good looking in to. More than once I've been caught out at Suvarnabhumi where one has to hold the brake handle "up" on the luggage trolleys. It is a fairly simple proceedure but if done incorrectly, it can lead to a trolley run-away. That plus, if you get it wrong at the end and don't release the brake at an appropriate time, all hell breaks loose. -
Don Mueang airport’s escalator accident not caused by poor maintenance
bluejets replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Seems to me to be a lot of "might have been" problems ...surely a proper investigation is required to give the exact problem and any future action to avoid this happening again. -
For around 10 years or more it became manditory to run an earth from the main switchboard to the antenna because of these puppies. So no longer was it sufficient for a tv tech to install the tv (as they did back then) but also a qualified lecky had to attend as well. Meant costs doubled, but had to be done as some internal TV fault livened up the antenna and a few people were booted. Probably not so much the boot but the fall off the ladder that brought about the changes. TV techs were issued with a "restricted ticket" but this was limited to mostly fitting a plug on a tv/radio.

Yes, just sales pitch. Currently you may notice that the lifespan claims have been removed from many. Probably as they had their ass sued for making false or unsubstantiated claims. No, that is taken from everyday experience as I am qualified in and work in the industry every day, unlike some who simply "think" they know all the answers.

One final note.......most LED internals will never last any where near what the older units would. Be prepared to replace at more shorter intervals. It is rarely the LEDs themselves but moreso the driver unit.

How to tell if my remote gate opener is 330 Mhz or 433Mhz
bluejets replied to Electroask's topic in The Electrical Forum
Possibly neither...crystal appears to have numbers starting 26***** so may well be an old 27meg unit. Be aware also that many of these remote Tx are encoded, meaning, whay may appear identical in every way, simply will not work on your system. Best find who supplied the gate and check with them ( as suggested above). -
Depends.......aluminium or copper........??? Most would assume copper............so....... Usual accepted rating (again depends on how it is installed) however .......... 1 sq mm ..........generally 10A. Most tend to use 1.5 though for lighting and protect with 10A RCBO combo 2.5sq mm for power....again generally 20A but rating can go to 28A...16A RCBO Any 15A point we tend to use 4 sq mm and 20A RCBO. 4.0 sq mm ....32A max. 6.0sq mm .....around the 40A mark Above does not take voltage drop into account ........

Two Electric Meters - how to switch between the two?
bluejets replied to mallmagician's topic in The Electrical Forum
I'd be checking with PEA.....many countries this sort of thing is highly illegal. If it is illegal, you might get away with it for a while but eventually they'll smell a rat and you could be up for whopping great penalty fees. -
Nickel–metal hydride rechargeable batteries.
bluejets replied to ravip's topic in The Electrical Forum
Go for the Sanyo Eneloops...usually around the AU$25 for 4 cells. (2000mAh) Can also buy with charger included at extra cost....total around AU$55.00 -
There are some aspects of your drawing that are incorrect depending on the following........... Are the buildings all on one land title? Is the main metering either one 3 phase or three 1 phase meters, or are there separate meters for the two distribution boards..? Either way, earthing for #2 board should originate at the #2 board, not the earth stake of somewhere along the way. There are other issues as well depending on you answers to the above.

Chiang Mai teens seen vaping, sniffing glue in public in downtown
bluejets replied to snoop1130's topic in Chiang Mai News
They really need to jump on this crap and ban it once and for all. Same in Aus. Created quite a story on weekend TV current affairs program, mainly because of the obvious targeting of young kids. Calls for it to be banned outright here in Aus. Thing is, certain aspects of it are currently illegal but business as usual, nothing to see here. -
Help with tourist visa required
bluejets replied to Funkymover's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Last entry, officer asked where I was staying (first night) and I said the hotel name and location. He did not recognise the hotel name until I called the wife in (Thai) who was next in line, who had a slightly different accent on the name and then there was a 2 minute chit chat about who knows what. Lot of smiles etc. so can only guess it was a throwback at my pronunciation.???? -
US to import Thai pomelos, Australia greenlights cooked duck imports
bluejets replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One would have to wonder why we can't grow and cook our own. Has to be an exchange of some description. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Just goes to show, the mob in charge here have learnt nothing from the covid situation. -
Passport Requirements to Australia
bluejets replied to lelapin's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Good luck with either of those...they are REALLY slow to respond, if ever. Best just check the Aus government website for requirements. or here....... https://www.thaiembassy.com/australian-visa/australian-tourist-visa Appears that as long as passport is current for entry and exit periods, then all ok. You'll find out when you apply for the visa I guess. I'd be covering my ass and renew it now. ???? -
