Foreign tourists throwing fists in Patong’s Bangla Road brawl goes viral

They no doubt got into a heated argument about 'Heisenberg's uncertainty principle', that or about some slut at the local bar. -
The second lady, Mrs 'B', should have remembered that old saying, discretion is the better part of valour, go and help Mrs 'A' to her feet yes but after seeing her get a good smacking perhaps she should have resisted the urge to scold them. Arguing with a drunk Thai, man or woman, is never a good idea, they know that now. No doubt the men are local and will soon regret their violent behaviour.

Nigel Farage Offers to Bridge UK Relations with Trump Administration

A bit of self promotion by soothing the petulant child. It's unfortunate that there is a world wide absence of good, decent, pragmatic politicians, in fact it's downright dangerous. -
I ought to add that I have always been slim, when I was living in Germany I liked German food and beer and although I am of average height I never weighed more than 74 kg, now in Thailand I only eat once a day and drink on average maybe two beers a week this has brought my weight down to 65 kg, I think weight plays a big role in knee health.
-
So that's another thing to look forward to.

I'm 76 and never had any knee problems, the few falang that I have met always start talking about knee problems, it's like a pandemic. Up to my retirement I used to walk a lot, maybe that's what has kept my knees in good order. What I do get is pain in the calf muscles sometimes but continuing to walk makes that go away.

Yes, extremely well. The first few years not so much but I have adjusted. In Isaan I find the people very friendly, probably because there aren't so many tourists, money has a corrupting influence on the psyche. I go with the flow. I don't believe in organized religions, although I consider Buddhism to be the most logical, so I don't attend the Buddhist services at our village temple but I meditate a lot and have found a secluded place in the temple grounds near some old Stupas where I meditate every day. Despite being secluded my wife tells me the monks and the locals are aware of this and this simple action has earned me enormous respect.

Exploration of the Virgin Birth That Maybe Wasn’t
soalbundy replied to Social Media's topic in Off the beaten track
Yes I can agree with that but only to a certain extent, 2+2 still makes 4, if someone says it makes 5 I will call them out on it, I will also ridicule flat earthers because it goes against known knowledge. In ancient Greece an illegitimate man would call himself son of Zeus, the virgin Mary runs on the same lines, in fact the virgin Mary myth is a relatively new invention and became really popular during the Victorian era, only one of the books in the bible mentions the virgin Mary and that is thought to mean maiden or young woman and mistakenly translated as virgin. -

More like insanity, why, in this day and age, is a virgin birth even considered as a possibility? -

Udon Thani Traffic Police Officers Suspended Amid Bribery Scandal
soalbundy replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I'm appalled....... that they've been suspended, paying under the clipboard is a cheap, time saving, time honoured system which also gives the poorly paid traffic cop a decent standard of living. -

Thanks for all your help, each of you, but I'm 76 years old and I use a computer like I use a car, I turn a key and it starts, if not I call a mechanic, I'm no techie. I leave well enough alone. I will buy a new computer but I will use my present one until it won't work at all.....it's rather like a women, sometimes nice other times bad tempered but at least it doesn't want my money.

Indian passengers turn Thai AirAsia plane into party zone - video

There's probably a reason for that, like the Chinese they aren't welcome anywhere. -
To start I have to say my PC is 18 years old using windows 7. The computer has had trouble starting recently and starts a repair program (every day) with no success but then it can be started. Before this I had a notice that updates were being loaded (when I shut down in the evening) which surprised me as win 7 is no longer supported, my anti virus and anti malware programs show no attack. Since two weeks I have the problem that while using it the computer will shut down with the notice 'no cable' it will then start again automatically and can be used normally for an hour or two before the same thing happens, sometimes 3 or 4 times an hour. TOT replaced the modem and I was able to use the computer for 8 hours straight with no problems but the next day the same thing happened. Any ideas?

Drunken drama: Russian hospitalised after Bangla brawl
soalbundy replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
We don't know what force the drunk big burly Russian started to use, why should the Thai security staff risk injury by using minimum force, their country, their rules so they made sure he was put down quickly, that's my take on it, he refused to leave when asked so now he's in hospital. hopefully with a big hospital bill at the end. Maybe Ukraine seems like a good option now. -

Unfortunately some people seem to almost beg for the thug treatment....and then complain when they get it. Act like a civilized human being and you will receive reciprocal treatment.
