Taco Bell has never been known for good and certainly never great food. It has always been cheap and convenient. I thought it was unique that Taco Bell actually decided to open a location in Chiang Mai. International food options in CNX are rather lacking. For me eating at Taco Bell outside of the US is more nostalgia than a good place to eat. Also, I was back in So Cal in January and Taco Bell was one of few places where lunch was under $10. The other place was In N Out. Now if In N Out ever popped up in LOS the I would get excited. Of course this will never happen. I have been a long time customer of La Casita in CNX. it has great Mexican food.

I was walking by on the west side fo the moat just south of Tae Pae gate and saw this. This will mean nothing for many but if you grew up in CA it brings back some good memories. I will visit when it opens on July 29. BKK has several Taco Bell locations and now CNX has one too.

I believe Kamala Harris can win only if Mark Kelly is the VP Nominee. People like myself, veteran and retired police officers, admire people like Kelly. We are not "mage-facists' and do not own red hats unless it is for USC Football. 1. Retired Navy Pilot 2. Former NASA Astrounaut 3. Son of Police Officers(this is a big one for me). 4. Life of service and sacrifice. Navy Pilots spend months at sea during a career. Kelly has served on multiple Space Shuttle mission. His life is the epitome of service and sacrifice. He seems to be humble person. 5. Elected to the Senate as a political newbie in 2020. 6. His position on gun control has been shaped by the attack on his wife, Gabrielle Giffords, who almost died. This is understandable even if one disagrees with him on this issue. I have never owned an AR-15 or any other long rifle and have never been member of the NRA. To me the NRA seems to be run by a bunch of con men who constantly solicit donation in "order to protect our 2nd Ammendment Rights" Whateve that means. I have owned firearms for over 35 years and sold my collection when I came to Thailand full time. The firearms I have owned were pistols even though I have lot of professional experience with the AR-15. But I have never had a need to own an AR-15. I know a lot of people who think like I do. Many voted for Trump in 2016 because they would not vote for Hilary Clinton. In essence he got a lot of anit-Hilary votes. Kelly is a much better VP or even presidential cndidate then JD Vance could ever be. In a potential Harris-Kelly adminstration I would be reassured to know at least one adult was in the White House. I have known about Kamala Harris since she was the District Attorny in San Francisco. I could have never imagined she would be this close to becoming POTUS. America is still the land of opportunity for all. The only way I would vote for Harris is if Mark Kelly was the VP nominee. Let's see what she does in the coming weeks.

There have always been rumors of Kamala Harris and Willie Brown. For those who do not know much about CA politics Brown was known as the Godfather of the Democratic Party. Brown is now 90 years old. "If you wanted to rise in the Democratic party in CA one had to kneel in front of the godfather". At his age Brown now has very little influence in CA.

Vance was a private citizen back in 2016? His back was just publisehed so running for any kind of elected office was not in his plans. At least not yet.

Another question could be does she get the vote of Indian American or even Asian American voters?

Way too early. Harris has not even picked a running mate. The polls show Harris leading by 2%. Margin of error for polls can be as high as 4%. The DNC is not until August. Was having Pence as his running mate moved the needle for Trump in 2016. Right now it's Harris and Trump until the nation sees who her running mate will be. The attack ads will really ramp after the DNC. As the saying goes "you ain't seen nothing yet". The PAC (R and D) are probably working in overdrive to plan and air attack ads during the fall. There are two truths about any politician (old or new): 1) They are opportunists 2) Their acoomplishments are embellished and their failures are dowmplayed or even denied. The truth is usually buried somewhere in the middle.

I was at Maya Mall in CNX and a Chinese woman came into the mens bathroom and started yelling in Mandarin. No one could understand what she was saying. I escorted her out whiile she was still yelling in Mandarin. I pointed to the ladies bathroom but she was not interested. It was the mall's fault for not having signs in Mandarin??? Welcome to the future of LOS.

Gradually the US Embassy in the Land Of Smiles is becoming irrelevant excpet for renewing American Passports. As an American in LOS I see useless campaigns like "Buy American products and study in the USA' efforts put on by the US Embassy as exercises in futility. The war of influence has been won by the PRC. Many of the Chinese I have come into contact with LOS do not speak or undestand English or Thai. They expect people to understand when they shout in Mandarin. I can't blame them for feeling this way.

Can you specifiy on what issue Vance defended Trump? In 2016 Vance was not a fan of Trump. What changed then?

Well Doug Emhoff, the now Second Gentlemen and potential First Gentleman was born Jewish. So the Democratic Candidate for President has a Jewish Husband. This could mean something or it could mean nothing if Mr. Emhoff is no longer a practicing member of the Jewish faith.

yes I did. I could never relate to Kamala Harris Joe Biden or Donald Trump. At least Vance understands what it feels like to be poor and what one has to do get out of poverty. He did that andf so did I. He did more at 39 then I did at 50. He grew up with no connections and no one to bail him out when he could pay tuition. But he found a way to to to Ohio State and then Law School.

Others have also done the 180. Never a Trump guy (even in 2016). But some see it this way: Better of Two Evils. The same might be true in November. Spent 20 years as a Police Officer in So Cal and never a fan of Harris even when she was the CA Attorney General. It looked like she was always looking for the next office to run for. But I could be wrong and maybe she will make a great President.

I was being sarcastic. It was a monumental failure. I was deployed twice to A-stan and some in my unit never come home. It was disgraceful and Joe Biden looking at his watch at Dover AFB while the remains were being carried out was disrespectful. But it appears he has no recollection about that and other events.

How do you know that? Did Donald and Vance confirm thsi to you?

Many despise JD but in a way his life and my life are similar: 1. I was dirt poor and grew up in CA 2. Met my father when I was 8 and he died when I was 16, Never knew the man 3. Mother had multiiple husbands that I never knew 4. Had to make adult decisions on behalf of my siblings 5. Only option after I barely finishded high school was the Army Recuriter. 6. Army service gave me a chance for college and a better life 7. I have lived in Kentucky and JD is from the Bluegrass state. I have seen similar towns where he grew up. I have read the book and saw the movie Hillbilly Elegy and I can relate to JD Vance. I do not agree with all of positions but I wiill vote for Trump because Vance is on the ticket. He overcame a lot and acheived success in life. I can't relate to any other POTUS or VPOTUS candidate.

Also, of Indian descent because mother's family is from India. She actually has the double race card if needed.

Not being serious but with the current state Not a Dem but they might have to consider an out of the box candidate. The nation and the world will now see how Kamala responds to the at times hostile WH media.

Best news is Alexandria Ocasio Cortez turns 35 on October 12 so she would be old enough to be President in case Kamala does not finish her term.
