  1. In my hometown there is a spa that caters to women. It has a large sauna reserved for women only and sometimes women bring their daughters. A mother and her young daughter were in the sauna and they were wearing only a towel. The mother noticed a 'woman" sitting across from them in the sauna. This "womans" towel slipped off and she saw this "woman" had a penis. The woman promptly took her daughter out of the sauna and later complainded to the manager about this incident. The manager replied that the 'woman" could not be denied entry to the sauna. The menager said if he denied entry to this person the spa could be sued for discrimination. Welcome to the future. I'm glad I do not have a daughter.
  2. This was the case over 30 years ago. My police academy class had 100 recruits. Only 10 had any kind of military experience. My guess is the percentage is even lower now. Many forget police offciers are recruited from the general population. Criminals also come from the general population. The best of society rarely get involved in the criminal justice system. It has always been like this. Yes, police are the most often used tool by elected politicians to push their priorities. It is what it is. On the job we all have to follow orders. Oftern the orders are vague and subject to interpreation. "just take care of the problem and don't bother me with the detials". "vigorously enforce all applicable laws at this event" etc, etc. When things go south who is the easiest member of the government to blame?
  3. Yeah I know. I would never fly a general airplane in the Land of Smiles. I have over 30 years of general avaiation flying experience in the US. At one tiime I was a also a flight instructor (CFI and CFII).
  4. At CM Ram it has been hit and miss. Some of the girls can speak some English but most just say "passport please". Most of the doctors at Ram speak very good English. I have never seen an additional charge for English faciliatators at Ram.
  5. In the US if a major repair is performed on aircraft the mechanic would fly with the pilot. I owned an airplane in the past (A Cessna 172) and after a major repair to the to engine the mechanic and I took the first flight. The flight went well.
  6. And has a son named Vivek?
  7. Then I would like to be at least 1% as dumb and as wealthy as Richard Branson is.
  8. Not dumb. Was a Governor and UN Ambassador. Kind of hard to hide in both jobs. Many US politicians are War Mongers. Why? It creates and sustains jobs. Many American jobs are dependent on producing weapons of war. Just think of Northrup Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Boeing (yes even Boeing has Defense Department Contracts and even Colt Firearms. No one listened to Dwight Eisenhower when said "we must not let the military industrial complex grow". But it did and many jobs are dependent on it. The Russian and Ukraine war has been very good for many companies.
  9. I do not believe it will be Rubio because he is also from Florida and now Trump is a resident there as well. Deep down inside I beleive Haley despise Trump and will wait for her turn in 2028.
  10. I cannot imagine Haley and Trump on the same ticket. Haley would be the rising star if Trump loses in November. I do not see another alternative to Vance among the potential contenders. A long shot would be someone like Byron Donalds but he is rather young. I think Trump and Vance are headed to November and as they say "come what may".
  11. I know but it gave me peace of mind. At Ram the combo package was 39K back in 2021. Now I don't need another Colonoscopy for another 2 more years.
  12. I have been going to Dr. Jaruwat Yossomba at Ram for years. i suffer from chronic flareups of Gastritis. He speaks excellent English. What are you symptoms? Pain in the belly, reflux, etc? If you really do not what it could be there are two options (endoscopy and/or colonoscopy). Of course both are expensive but well worth. I have had both done at Ram.
  13. I did see a Red Lobster inside of Emipshere in BKK. It was almost empty at dinner time. I grew up CA so Carl's Jr is place I used to go. Did see a Carls in Singapore but could not find the one in BKK.
  14. Been to Shake Shack in BKK (both locations and the second one is in Emispher) 4 times. For some reason In N Out feels the need to tease people in Asia. They have had several pop ups in Seoul as well. I would say to In N Out President Lindsey Snyder "expand internationally and stop teasing us in Asia and SE Asia". Also, I would agree with you on La Casita. Taco Bell is nostalgia but La Casita is for really good Mexican.
  15. Visited the location yesterday. The good and bad 1. Chicken burrito was good but the chips were awful. The chips tasted like fried cardboard. 2. The fountain drinks were a good idea. Order a small drink and get refils. This is my favorite way to get drinks at a fast food place. 3. Chicken burrito, dry chips and a drink was 219 Baht. A little over $6 was good value. 4. The place was busy with dine in, to go orders and of course Grab drivers. Business looked pretty good. 5. When I said "you quiero Tack Bell". none of the employees understood what I was saying. For old people like myself Taco Bell in the US had a great ad campaign back in the 1970's where a talking chihuahua says the classic phrase "yo quiero Taco Bell". I will never forget these commercials. 6. Another example of "Amazaing Thailand" is the fact this location had twice the number of employees that a typical US location would have but the service was twice as slow. TIT. Love it just the way it is or leave it. 7. I will be back mostly for nostalgic reasons. For a few minutes I thought I was eating at a Taco Bell in my hometown. Also, no Chinese so it was not very noisy. I guess Taco Bell has not penetrated the The Great Wall.
  16. Not every city is like your experience. Not every municipal job is like your experience. Were you city firefighter or police officer? My experience was different. The job was difficult to get. It took amost a year and then a one year probation. The attrition rate for the my old job was over 50%. This means half did not pass probation. Yes a degree of kissing up is present in any job public or private. I could have made the jump to private. I had a degree in statistical analysis so I could have "crunched numbers" and made good money. Yes I was a career police officer and had more good days then bad days. "The perfect job does not exist". That is unless you start your own company. I know names like Bezos or Musk come to mind but their stories are few.
  17. Hmm. The "fight" lasted about 46 seconds. You be the judge. The "lady" in red looks kind of manly?
  18. 50,000 baht bail? At least two serious charges (attempted kidnapping and sexual assault).
  19. Not sure what is really going but the first US offer was financing for the F-16's at 5% interest. Then the US offered financing at 3.5%. A "yes" might happend for the F-16 at 0% or just a "gift" from our friends?
  20. If so how does Shapiro play in Michigan, AZ or NV?
  21. "Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate by Tuesday, when she will hold her first rally with her pick in Philadelphia." This is from Politico. Does this mean Josh Shapiro? It kind of makes sense because Shapiro is the Governor of PA.
  22. 1) This is potential powder keg that could spread 2) Has the Home Secretary or even the new PM been there yet? I realize the new PM has only been in office for weeks but something like this comes with the job.
  23. I use CA prices as a reference to see how much I save by staying in LOS for most of the year. Therefore, a salad buffet for $5.55 at a Sizzler is a bargain. Also, I do not take it for granted that I can stay in LOS for as long as I want. Year to year things change in many areas so I always have a backup plan to go back home.
  24. Not in the California.
