Thai Mobile Banking Apps Crash On Payday, Transfers Put Off
sqwakvfr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Went to Bangkok Bank at Airport Plaza in CNX at 1200 to withdraw cash with my US Bank Debit and the process was really slow. I got concerned and asked a Bank employee to look at the atm. Just as she arrived the transaction started. I got the money out but getting the card back took a lot longer than usual. -
Can't find a call center in ENGLISH for True Online
sqwakvfr replied to Alex80's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
I had an issue two days ago and called 1242 Option 9. The True Rep spoke English and the issue was resolved. -
This subject will be of interest for American and to anyone who likes apple pie. I have always loved apple pie and at times it has not been easy to find a good apple pie. A few days ago I saw slices of apple crumble pie on sale at the Tops market in Central Festival Chiang Mai. I bought a slice and took it home. Sadly when I sliced into it I discovered the apple slices had not been peeled. The crust was dry and overall it was one of the worst apple pies I had tried in Thailand. For anyone in Chiang Mai can I get a recommendation to find good or great apple pie? Also, a recommendation for good pecan pie would be greatly appreciated.

Don Mueang Airport ranks among the most dangerous airports in the world
sqwakvfr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
“come on”. I used to fly out of Kabul (KBL), Bagram, Kandahar and Baghdad and they didnt even make the list. One is more likely to get in accident on the way to DMK or even get into an escalator accident while walking to the gate. -
Thai tourism targets wealthy Asian expatriates for industry boost
sqwakvfr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The only way to attract "wealthy" Asians Expatriates is to push the Elite Visa. Why would a wealthy person want to wait in long immigration lines at BKK upon arrival. On the other hand a truly wealth Asian expatriate has many options that are more attractive. Singapore and S. Korea will grant a foreigner a long term visa (in S. Korea up to 10 years) for purchasing a condo or home for at least $500,000. The term Innovation is rarely uttered in LOS. -
1000 Island Dressing on a Pizza????
sqwakvfr replied to sqwakvfr's topic in Western Food in Thailand
No. -
I have also had Shake Shack in Kuwait and Seoul. They announced big plans but as I far I know Kuwait still has the single location that opened over 10 years ago and in S. Korea they have 25. S. Korea historically has embraced most American Food Chains. I am pretty sure BKK will have one Shake Shack. Shake Shack plans on opening in Kuala Lumpur in 2024. I have always been an In N Out guy and I will have another Double Double in a few months. For my taste the burger patties in Thailand have never been to my liking. I can tell the beef at McDonalds in Thailand is imported. Not a McD fan but I can tolerate the meat at the Golden Arches.

1000 Island Dressing on a Pizza????
sqwakvfr replied to sqwakvfr's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Thanks. I should have stayed with Pepperoni. I actually switched to the Spicy chicken and got the unpleasant surprise. -
Does anyone know when and why 1000 Island dressing is sometimes used as sauce on a Pizza. I made the mistake of ordering a chicken pizza from Pizza Company and to my surprise the sauce was 1000 Island Dressing. This was my mistake and I did not read the menu properly. Also, the full list of ingredients on the Grab App is sometimes difficult to read.

I used to think that way until I got my first Mac and IPad. The smooth and seamless way Apple machines operate is something that one gets used to. The last Windows update I installed took 20 minutes to download and install. The low end M1 Mac Air is going for 34,000 Baht. This is a lot of money but I would guess this machined could last 7 or 8 years with a battery change. From my perspective this is good value. Others will disagree. I have owned Dell, HP, Lenovo and Samsung laptops though out the years but for my circumstance the Mac Air and IPad are my choices. Lastly, why do Windows computers have so many updates?
-
Had a Mac Air for 8 years(great machine and one battery change). Tried something different and bought a Samsung Laptop(Galaxy Book Flex Alpha-long name). A Windows PC and after two yeas of this I am going back to the new M1 Mac Air. To me a Windows PC runs like an SUV and a Mac runs like a Porsche. I also have an IPad Pro from 2017 and after a battery change it is going strong. I recently went to the Apple Store in BKK at Central World and was very impresses with how helpful they employees were. I will never go back to the Studio 7 stores again.

Always? Yes. But my main point was why tear up both sidewalks at the same time? At least give pedestrians one sidewalk that is not torn up. Logically speaking(I know that is in rare supply here) complete one side first and then work on the other side. I know. Stop using Logic.

Thanks for for the photo. Slowly and i means very slowly I see some progress. Maybe around September or October is when I see the project being completed?

When did I complain about the cost? I stated I generally do not hail rides for such short distances even with the current condition of the sidewalks. Of course if there was a monsoon then I might reconsider? If this mean that I am complaining about the cost then I would not disagree with you because this is your interpretation of what I had said.
-
Ok 6x2= 12 12x4 = 48 per month. Anyway I am not going to hail a ride for a 2KM round trip even with the sidewalks in it's present condition.

Been traveling internationally for over 30 years. I first came to BKK 20 years ago because Emirates Airlines had cheap fares from Dubai. Dubai was the main vacation starting point for anyone in Iraq or Afghanistan. Then I discovered BKK and many parts of LOS were much cheaper then the other places I was considering. I would disagree with esteemed CEO of Agoda and if LOS maintains it's status as a relatively cheap holiday location then it does not have to change.
