True but it still looked bad. Australia does not have 18 year olds who can actually break dance? What did OZ Olympic Committee think was going to happen? I mean if this was a festival iin Sydney then ok but not the Olympics with a global audience. The following is an example of "giving it a go" by a shotputter trying to save her track team from disqualification:

I saw the video and it is bad. She looks like a stiff grandma who is shuffling to her own drummer. As expected the Australian Olympic Committee and even the PM is defending her by saying "She gave it a go". She certainly did and she is making Australia into a meme. I believe LA 2028 will not have breakdancing.

Thoughts on the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics

Australian Break Dancer. Really don't know why this 36 year old did not win a medal??? -
I actually have a degree in Quantitave Methods and Analysis. This was back in the late 80's and advances in computer technology made my degree and job prospects pretty much useless. Even back in the 1980's and 1990's computers could make calculations faster then I could with a calculator. I still have my Hewlet Packard 12C calculator which I bought back in 1987. Still ticks after many battery changes. So I did the next logical thing and become a police officer. Yes it sounds rather absurd but it pretty much sums my life.

Would this affect an Elite Visa Holder who has a 5,10 or 20 year visa? Also, if a 5 year Elite Visa simply buys another 5 year visa would the Elite Company ask the person to prove their foreing income? I doubt it. So if I want to stay a long time in LOS without tax filing issues then the Elite or even the DTV might the way to go. -
Tax Return 2025

Were talkinga about a simple return(no taxes owed as long the filer proves his money has already been taxed in hir or her country?). Do you believe as an American tax filer I would actually have to submit my US Federal Income Tax return to TRD? -

Threequestions about procedure: 1) Thai Tax returns have to be submitted in Thai? Therefore, all foreign documents would have to be translated. 2) What would the approximate cost be for an agency to file a Thai Tax return for foreign tax resident? -
Those who actually served as an active service member and a guardsman or reservist (I am one) know that comparing two military service records is like apples to oranges. It is true Vance did one enlistment (probably 3 or 4 years) and Walz completed 24 years as a Guardsman but the two are completely different. Before 911 many guard units were in a word a joke. In 1992 units of the California Army National Guard were activated to support law enforcement during the riots. Some units showed up with weapons but no ammunition and some units actually showed up with weapons and some ammunition. Guardsmen in a another unit at my armory were given Article 15's for brining cases of beer during an FTX (Field Training Exercise). They only got caught because one guy got drunk and passed out in front of his tent. in the 1990's the Army National Guard was not combat capable. Everything changed after September 11, 2001.

It depends on whether he was sitting behind a desk at an FOB or actually went out on patrols with a rifle company. If you ever saw the movie Full Metal Jacket Matthew Modine's character( "joker") was a Marine Journalist assigned to Vietnam. Sometimes military journalist actually go on patrols with combat units and sometimes they do not.
-
Ok. Really did not understand you point as well.

The ones I saw had a TV but the common area had a microwave. It would have been a nice place to serve because when one was off duty it was Italy after all. La Dolce Vita.
-
Both cases are similar. How many during the Vietnam era found a local national guard unit to perform their service and not get drafted? The end game was to not get drafted and sent to Vietnam. Performing weekend drills at the local armory or airfield was a hardship?
-
No. One had to actually be "in country" to qualify as a veteran of OEF. I am an OEF veteran. Serving in Italy is a joy. If he was at Vicenza then the "barracks" are more like apartments. Not exactly a hardship. Many guardsman and resevisits were activated and deployed to many stateside and in some cases overseas bases to fill some of the roles that were filled by active duty personnel who had been sent to A-stan or Iraq.

I have never voted for him. I have never expressed any support for him. Mr bone spurs or whateve the reason was like many from well to do families who found ways to avoid the draft and service in Vietnam. HW Bush was pilot for the Texas Air National Guard and flew F104's but never saw service in combat. Using a medical condition and in many cases joining the Army or Air National Guard were creatve ways to avoid serviing in Vietnam.

Logic and common sense are learned through life experience. Does not appear you grasped those important subjects.. But what do I know because according to you I failed grammar in high school. So you are sure that I actually graduated from any high school? Would that mean you made an ASS umption? Also, congratulations on your self appointment as the grammar enforcement officer of this forum.

Wow. Someone who can actually read my mind. Also, We as in you and your other self?

I never said I was on Team Trump. I have never been part ot MAGA or even own a red hat. Actually, I own blue hats because I have been long time fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
-
I did not say that. National Guard units were initially given warning orders up to one or two years prior to any possible deployments. Not all NG units were deployed. The Department of the Army would ultimately decide which units to actually activate and ultimately deploy. I know some active Army solders who never deployed to Iraq or A-stan. I never mentioned the term "stolen valor". You did. I never said Walz stole anything. Accuracy matters.
-
It is more than one mistatement. I like Walz was in the National Guard. Deployed twice (A-stan and Iraq). I know the entire process of how a Natinal Guard unit is activated and then deployed. Walz held a high rankning enlisted position in his battalion. He would have know earlier about any deployemnt then a private or even a junior NCO. A few members of my unit were exused from deployment for various reasons. Because gurardsman have fulltime jobs away from the National Guard careful and long term planning has to implemented. One fellow guardsman was excused from deployment because his wife was undergoing cancer treatment and another ran his own business and being away for a year would have ruined him financially. A legitimate reason can excuse a guardsman or resevist from any long term (one year or more) deployment. On the otherhand a few others actually re-enlisted in order to deploy with their fellow guardsmem. Another member who was 45 delayed his retirement so he could deploy. It is about what he did and when he did it. Just prove that his decision to retire from the Minnesota Army National Guard had nothiing to do with the Iraq deploment. This seems like a simple question to be answered. This means a lot to me and to those like me. If one has never served or deployed then maybe not so much.
-
"the google is working" (George HW Bush). Could not find it, yet.
-
Yes most of us know that. All he has to to show the public the exact date when his retirement package was submitte and then "all of this will go away". The NGB can confirm this quickly but need Walz's approval. Why let this fester for days. If my honor was attacked I wouldn't wait one day to prove the accusations were false.
-
Did the Minnesota Army National Guard or the NGB (National Guard Bureau) confimr this?
