  1. I did not say that. National Guard units were initially given warning orders up to one or two years prior to any possible deployments. Not all NG units were deployed. The Department of the Army would ultimately decide which units to actually activate and ultimately deploy. I know some active Army solders who never deployed to Iraq or A-stan. I never mentioned the term "stolen valor". You did. I never said Walz stole anything. Accuracy matters.
  2. It is more than one mistatement. I like Walz was in the National Guard. Deployed twice (A-stan and Iraq). I know the entire process of how a Natinal Guard unit is activated and then deployed. Walz held a high rankning enlisted position in his battalion. He would have know earlier about any deployemnt then a private or even a junior NCO. A few members of my unit were exused from deployment for various reasons. Because gurardsman have fulltime jobs away from the National Guard careful and long term planning has to implemented. One fellow guardsman was excused from deployment because his wife was undergoing cancer treatment and another ran his own business and being away for a year would have ruined him financially. A legitimate reason can excuse a guardsman or resevist from any long term (one year or more) deployment. On the otherhand a few others actually re-enlisted in order to deploy with their fellow guardsmem. Another member who was 45 delayed his retirement so he could deploy. It is about what he did and when he did it. Just prove that his decision to retire from the Minnesota Army National Guard had nothiing to do with the Iraq deploment. This seems like a simple question to be answered. This means a lot to me and to those like me. If one has never served or deployed then maybe not so much.
  3. "the google is working" (George HW Bush). Could not find it, yet.
  4. Yes most of us know that. All he has to to show the public the exact date when his retirement package was submitte and then "all of this will go away". The NGB can confirm this quickly but need Walz's approval. Why let this fester for days. If my honor was attacked I wouldn't wait one day to prove the accusations were false.
  5. Did the Minnesota Army National Guard or the NGB (National Guard Bureau) confimr this?
  6. You mean cornette:
  7. Nitpicking or just being accurate are the same thing? So now being accurate is being a Trumpette? I am not embarrassed in stating accurate information. What about you?
  8. Technically Army and Army National Guard are two different worlds. I was in both. The Army has one missioin: Prepare War. The Army National Guard prepares for war on a mostly part time basis and has other mission that are deemed necessary by the Governor and the Adjutant General. Walz was never part of the active army. He did "deploy" to several stateside locations and was "deployed" to Italy. I put the term deployed in quotes because this term is mostly used to describe military personnel who are ordered to combat zones (like A-stan, Iraq and Syria). Military personnel who are ordered to places like Italy, Germany or England actually PCS (Permanent Change of Station) and not deployed. Did I just show affectiion for Trump as well?
  9. This will not go down well with veterans who deployed to any combat zone. One can be a Democrat, Republican or Independent but in a foxhole (literal or not) we were all soldiers, Marines, sailors or airmen. There was always trust that my life depends on you and your life depends on me so will rely upon each to survive and accomplish the mission. One never lies or embellishes about his or her service in a combat zone. We had a term for those who evade combat deployments without a legitimate reason. That term is chicken hawk. A chicken hawk is boastufl and brave until the bullets start flying. Yes, Donald (shin splints) Trump probably fits the definition. Gov Walz needs to look into the camera and explain exactly when he submitted his Army National Guard retirement application. If his application was submitted before the Minnesota Army National Guard received a warning order for a possible Iraq deploment then issue over. Otherwise he has some explaining to do. None of this would matter except for one line he said that was released by the Harris-Walz campaign: "Just like the weapons I carried in a war zone". At one time he was actually deployed overseas. It was Italy. I do not believe Italy has been a war zone for over 80 years.
  10. Why has the Harris-Walz campaign let this National Guard Serivce/Retirement issue fester for the last few days? It is becoming a distraction. I am not Harris voter but this can go away quickly by having Walz do an interview, issue a detailed statement with his military records/documents, hold a news conference or even have the Minnesota NGB (National Guard Bureau) explain the timeline as to when Walz actually submitted his retirement papers. Even for the Army National Guard the retirement process is not quick or easy. It can take months.
  11. In St Louis all military records are stored. I have gotten my records from there several times. But only the service member or an agency that he designates can get the records. All this can be cleard up and go away by Walz. All he has to do is explain and show his records. Also, I am waiting for Senator Tammy Duckworth to comment on Walz. Retired Major Duckworth was a UH 60 Pilot for the Illinois Army National Guard who made a permanent sacrfifice whene she was deployed to Iraq. She lost both legs. Inspite of being deployed and seriously injured she ran and the election for US Senate.
  12. On both deployments my unit got a warning order 9 months before a possible deployment. Sometimes a warning order does not actually materialize in an actual deployment. Also, all reserve units have to pass pre deployment training at CRC (Counus Replacement Center like at Ft McCoy Wi or Ft Bliss TX). There are steps that a unit must pass before they are actually deployed.
  13. Not surprised at what he is doing lately. Yesterday he pulled a stunt at the same airport where Harris was. Did he forget the fact that Harris is the sitting VP and one does not just approach her in this manner. There is a time and place to speak to the VP. It is not on the tarmac of an airport.
  14. Good. Honesty from a politician.
  15. When I was deployed to A-stan I knew a reserve Major who was 60. 45 is not too old. My last deployment I was 46. One of the biggest differences between Active Duty personnel then reserve and/or national guard is the age difference. The average reservist and guardsman is older and in some cases much older than active duty.
  16. This will come up in a debate with Vance. How does Walz respond if asked about this?
  17. I am not fan or a supporter of Tim Walz but let's state some facts about his service with the MN Army National Guard. His last postiing was that of a Command Sergeant Major of a Field Artillery Unit. He enlised in 1981 and retired in May 2005. He served for 24 years. His final rank was a Master Sergeant because it appears he did not have enough time in grade to actually retire as a CMSgt(I am not certain of this and Walz has not offered much clarity about his final year of service). HIs unit recieved mobilization orders for Iraq in the summer of 2005 and deployed in October 2005. Therefore, did he actually retire to avoid a deployment to Iraq? Only Walz knows this and he is not saying. That is his perogartive. Any service member with 20 or more years can retire unless there is Stop Loss Order by the Department of Defense. The DOD did not have a stop loss order for MN National Guard members in MOS(Military Occupational Speciality) in 2005. This a short video of Walz actually talking about gun control but he seems to claim that he was actually in combat. It might have been a slip but only he knows what he meant. Of course the Republicans are taking this and running with it. As for JD Vance he had one deployment to Iraq as a Marinc Corps Journalist. Really do not know what he actually did. He could be have been embeded with a Marine Rilfe Company or he coud have been assigned to a desk in an FOB (Forward Operating Base). The truth migh be somewhere in the middle. Anyway I servced with the California Army National Guard and was deployed with my unit to both Iraq and A-stan. Some fellow members of my unit who actually served in combat never made it home.
  18. Does the PHI Govvernment tax foriengers income that is earned in other countries? This could be a selling point for SRRV?
  19. I lived and worked in Kuwait for 2 years. This is what I saw firsthand. 1) Kuwaitis drive like Allah will protect from just about anytning 2) The Kuwaiti men are like spoiled little boys with money. 3) This is how traffic laws enforced in the oil rich but small kingdom. An Indian worker was walking down a sidewalk when he was run over and killed by a Kuwaiti driving a Porsche. The Kuwaiti Police (this is an insult to the word Police) arrived and completed the investigation in about 10 minutes. The Kuwaiti Police deemed the Indian was at a fault, the Inidans body was taken to a local hospital and Indian Embassy was notified. The End. 4) I have never been back to Kuwait since then. Not surprised how many Kuwaiti men behave when they are LOS. Once took a Qatar Airways flight from KWI-DOH-BKK. When the flight left Kuwaiti airspace the Kuwaii's changed out of their "man dresses" and started demanding beer and more beer. Also, they were very rude to the mostly Asian female flight attendants.
  20. I know. He has not aged well.
  21. Just a bad photo at an odd angle. Does he like to smell hair? He could be Warrent Buffet's brother?
  22. Optics. Walz looks non threatening and could be someone's grandpa or uncle. Kelly looks intense and does not give out the "warm fuzzies". This is understandable because Kelly's past jobs have been intense (Naval Aviator and Space Shuttle Commander). Walz was a school teacher and spent over 20 years in the Minnesota Army National Guard. Walz looks very likeable. This could swing the vote for some. On the otherhand if I ever had to go to war again I would go with Kelly and not Walz.
  23. So Shapiro tuned it down? I had doubts Mark Kelly would be on the ticket because the image of a 60 year old white guy with a shaved head standing next to Harris might not be a good luck.
  24. I'm not watching the rally. Is Shapiro there?
  25. Why is the Governor of MInnesota being introduced as the VP nominee in Pennsylvania? Was Minneapolis too far?
