  1. Yes don't try to bypass entry into Cambodia it will not work.

    There are 2 crossings north of trat at ban laem and ban pakard, they are close together but the closest is ban pakard.

    I went there on my last visa run, having used poi pet previously, it was so relaxed at ban pakard, Poi Pet is a mad house, you will need some photos i think it was 3, together with copies of passport id page, (ALL OF WHICH CAN BE DONE THERE} walk up some steps to immigration, exit is on the left, entry directly opposite. after exiting Thailand walk towards Cambodia, there is a covered area on the left, where some Cambodians sit and 'tout' for business. It had been fine all day, but as i parked in the car park the heavens opened, so i took the help offered by the last group of 'touts' and they did everything for me, without me leaving my seat. Five minutes later minus 1,300 baht i was back in Thailand the whole trip took 10 minutes or less.It was in the afternoon,so that may of helped. the girl's phone number is 0899825567 (pisey). You could do it yourself there, not sure what it would cost

  2. The op started the thread with, what happens if i do something illegal, not what would be the correct way of doing this - 'scenario'.

    Why do people look to come to Thailand or for that matter any other country, without the correct visa in the first instance, and then whilst in that country have to duck and dive to try and stay legal.

    In my option it is all the people doing the ducking and diving that cause all the rule changes, making it harder for the people that are trying to do it the correct way.

    rant over

    @thaibound2

    Having said that, do things the correct way and get the applicable visa in your home country, if you are staying 60 to 90 days get a double entry tourist visa, or a single entry non immigrant 'o' visa, or if longer than 90 days, plan on a tourist visa border run, with a view to extending your original visa, if in the UK or Australia there would be the option of a multi entry non immigrant 'o' visa.

  3. I have what you are looking for, and looking at it closely all it does it take an additional cable from the following pins orange 2 to 12, black 19 to 24, yellow 10 to 11, and red 22 to 23, (that is using the diagram on the link that garyh posted). Could you not take the 20 pin head off the power supply and soldier the wires to your 24 Pin Apple Power Plug, using the 4 additional wires looped from 2 to 12 etc. Just a thought.

  4. I would suggest getting a NEW multi entry 'o' visa from hull, this will give you an extra 10 months in Thailand over and above your current visa, as Ignis said you will not be able to obtain another anywhere in Asia, so if you will need another it would entail a return to the UK. Hull will just cancel your existing one. But if you only require 5 months in Thailand then your existing visa will do. Only you know your future plans.

  5. I would suggest getting a multi entry 'o' visa from hull, about £100.00 this will allow you to stay in Thailand for 15 months, but you will have to do a border run every 90 days, with no need to go to immigration whilst here,this will allow you 15 months in which to plan ahead. At any time you can get a 1 year extension of stay based on marriage.

    From what i have read most teaching jobs here require a degree. In my opinion £1000.00 to £1,200.00 is enough to live here per month, but different lifestyles require differing amounts of money.

    I would also suggest you obtain a international driving licence/permit from the AA, RAC or green flag, this will be easily exchanged for a Thai licence once here, this can be used in some places to obtain entry at the Thai price.

    I moved here at very short notice earlier this year, due the shortage of available work in the construction industry in the UK,and have enjoyed it here immensely.

    Good luck for the future.

  6. I would suggest early in the morning and later in the day to avoid the heat. Like most embassies they may close early like noon. You could check on the Internet for the Thailand Embassy Laos and may see the hours there or a contact number. I have only had to go to Laos and come back every 90 days, with a one year visa. More experienced posters would know more. Soon I will have to go to change my visa for work permit and look forward to the answers you will get here.

    You don't change your visa for a work permit,you need a work permit to work in Thailand and a visa/extension of stay, which allows you to stay in Thailand. Both are required, see this thread -
