  1. Maybe he had someone behind him with a camera rolling so he could claim he was making a doco movie....
  2. Thanks. Yes, my friend just heard something about the non o-x. Saying it's a 5 or 10 years multiple entry visa?
  3. Thank you for the quick answer. A follow up question (or 2...) - what's the latest he can apply for the extension? And what about the OX visa? Is it still available for Austrian passport holders? If not available for Austrian - what nationalities can apply for it?? Thank you again
  4. So my friend changed a VE entry to 3 months retirement visa at CW. He has everything in order, including funds in the bank for much longer than 3 months as he was employed here on an off for years in the past, and he did it on his own, no agents. When is the EARLIEST he can apply for a 1 year extension? He plans to go to his home country for a few months and doesn't want to be limited by the time needed to get the extension. TIA.
  5. About 3 years ago I applied for a visa to a Schengen country for a stay of just over a month. They demanded hotel booking for the full period. Tried to explain I'll be traveling from place to place, might stay a bit longer in 1 place and shorter in another but at the end I had to book all nights before they accepted my application.
  6. Or maybe it's someone else's baby and she was trying to make you the paying daddy?
  7. Basically seems you think she's a frog in need of saving....
  8. Sounds like for some reason immigration wants you to start the visa process from there beginning, therefore telling you to go out of Thailand and come back on visa exempt or tourist visa (depends on your nationality). You don't have to wait for the visa to expire, just go out of Thailand WITHOUT a re-entry stamp, and when you get back just go to immigration and convert your permission to stay (that you were stamped in) to retirement, but make sure you have all documents ready.
  9. You can actually use your original driver's license to identify yourself at the airport if they license is on English.
  10. Crystal clear. Just read slowly maybe... What is the minimum passport validity required to apply for a retirement visa?
  11. Next time just leave the car there until the end of the cop's shift. He'll take off the clamp before going home...
  12. Wow. So many confused people on AN. So good you're here to show us the way....
  13. There are many people on the world that don't like the way they look, don't like their bodies for many different reasons. But as much as I don't like Trump, he's absolutely correct by saying there are only 2 sexes. Male and female. When a person starts barking it doesn't mean he's a dog. When a man dress up and behave as a woman, it doesn't make him a woman. Cutting of some parts of the body for no other reason but just to play a role - that's insane in my opinion.
  14. Just 1 simple question to the op: are you a tourist in Thailand?
  15. If you go anywhere on holidays, and for some reason have to go to an optometrist, would you complain that this optometrist doesn't speak your language??
  16. Chiang Mai. You have to watch the VDO (few short clips) - during each clips you have to answer a question, and at the end of all clips you have to answer all those questions again. Then the system generates a QR code which you download and either print or just show to the DLT staff on your phone.
  17. Not sure how it is from 2 to 5 years, but recently renewed a 5 years bike licence. Had to watch the video and show the QR code as proof. Also needed a medical certificate. Went in without appointment. Did the colour test and that was it.
  18. Not yet. Will be in about 3 months from now but not for everybody.
  19. Never happened to me or anyone traveling with me or anyone I know of. Thai immigration (or any immigration I've encountered in other countries) have never ever checked visa for my destination when stamping out. Not their job, not their responsibility. HOWEVER! When Thai immigration suspect a Thai national is going to WORK overseas they can and sometimes do ask to see the relevant permit from the labor office, without which they can refuse letting the passenger out of the country. I have met a young Thai woman that was invited by her western boyfriend who arranged a tourist visa for her to visit his country and also bought her the airplane ticket (sent me the money and asked me to arrange everything which I did). She checked in at the airline's desk without problems, but IO refused to let her out saying he thinks she's going to work there without the proper labor office documents.
