Why do so many Thai prostitutes marry their customers?
LukKrueng replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Maybe you should all why do many farang customers marry their prostitutes.... Many years ago I was a cabbie in a Western country. One night, around 3 or 4am I was sent to pickup a passenger at a brothel. After a few km she asked me to stop the cab as she felt sick. I stopped and she opened the door and vomited. When we continued she said she had a bad night at work, some bad customers and that she hates that place. I asked her why doesn't she work from home instead. Her answer was: "my husband would like me if I did"... -

There's no such thing as moving a bank account from one branch to another in Thailand, even if you've been banking with them for 30 years. All you have to do is open a new account and transfer the money into it. The original account will get closed after a period of time with no money and no activity in it -

2 years old with 65k km. That's a lot of road for a small engine. And it does sound like fuel problem. Might be the fuel hose (burning smell might suggest that) -
I think it's correct that the amphur can't divorce you. Not sure if possible through the embassy, but I think you can get divorced by the family court.

Actually a smart move. Religious people are grouped under their faith and have leaders that have power and influence and can move things. Most rulers over the centuries have used "the power of God" to rule their countries and people. Secular people are just individuals that don't belong to any such power group and have very little influence. Maybe the use of Satan is a bit of an over reach but it groups those individual under something most people in the world understand.

A few years ago someone sent me carpeting samples. He sent it by EMS and clearly stated these are samples and have no commercial value. Customs wanted a big sum of money as taxes and VAT. I went to the post office holding center, asked them to open the 2 parcels and see for themselves. They were reluctant and said it must have value or otherwise it wouldn't be sent by EMS but by a much cheaper means of transport. After they opened it and saw it was only samples they let it go. So your best option is to go there in person (not you, your wife obviously) and argue the case that it is not a medical product. Maybe suggest to class it as a cosmetic product, pay some duty and take it home.

No need for a lawyer. I bought 3 properties through a real estate agent and a 4th property directly from seller, and recently sold 1 directly to the buyer without an agent\lowyer. As you're married to a Thai woman, she should be able to read and understand what's going on. Things you have to do before buying: 1. Get a copy of the chanot, go to the relevant land office and check if the title is a freehold or had any debt\leaes or other issues that might prevent the selling of the property. 2. Check the boundaries of the property to make sure they match the chanot. 3. If the seller wants a deposit, write a contract with all the agreed upon conditions (total price, who pays the fees for the transfer of the title, time frame to complete the deal). 4. Set an appointment with the seller at the land office. Seller and buyer have to present their ID card, and if married the spouse has to sign a consent for the sell\buy. Seller has to bring the original chanot. At the land office they will check all documents and get both parties to sign a sell\buy agreement form (this happens whether or not you already signed another agreement between the 2 parties). Once the officer ok's all the documents whoever has to pay the fees goes to the cashier and brings the receipt back to the officer. The officer will ask the seller if they got paid on full for the property (full payment should be made after the officer approved all the docs) and then the officer will put the buyer's name on the chanot and give you a copy of the sell\buy agreement. Congrats, your wife is now the owner of the property. On a side note - agents fee is normally 3% of the sell price, and a lawyer shouldn't charge more than that as well.

First of all - I feel your pain. We went through a similar situation last year. Our dog lost his appetite and started to lose weight. Vet diagnosed a liver infection and started with medications, IV, special diet. I consulted a vet overseas who told me immediately that there's nothing to do but put the dog to sleep. The vets here in Thailand said he still had a chance of getting over it and as I was reluctant to put him to sleep I went along with their recommendations. The dog was hospitalised for a long time and kept getting worse. 3 times I have decided that it's time to let him go, and every time he seemed to improve a little and the vets convinced me to wait. As they couldn't do much at the hospital we took him back home, and on the next visit to the vet I told her that as his condition gets worse and there's no real quality of life for him maybe it's time for goodbye. Apparently my wife want ready to give up on him so we took him back home with little, but some hope. The vet told me that she already discussed with the other vets who took care of our dog, and she will be the 1 to put him to sleep of it comes to that, and said to call the hospital and ask for her when we decide. Few days later my wife realized that we arrived at the end of the road and he's got no joy left as he couldn't even stand. We called the vet and she scheduled is for next day. About an hour later our beloved dog passed at home. Reflecting on what had happened, I realized we should have put him down much earlier to save him all the pain and suffering. I don't know where you are at, but I'm sure you'll be able to find a kind vet that will help stop your dog's suffering. If you have in your area a branch of Thonglor pet hospital try them.

That's the point. According to the article they were supposed to transit only on Singapore, a country known for their intolerance for any drugs. That way when they arrive Europe they hope the local authorities will be less alert for drugs as the flight arrived from Singapore
