  1. PR holders can, and actually supposed to go through the Thai side, but not the auto gates
  2. It must be the red Isuzu fault. Otherwise they wouldn't have single it out and naming its colour!
  3. Same things happened and happen when there's a big demand for cash and ATMs run out of cash. Last week I had to try 3 locations to find cash, this morning the machine ran out of 100's and 500's and all I could withdraw was on thousands. Better go back to the old system of barter.
  4. By "visa" accounts I meant the account with the 400k or 800k you use to extend your permit of stay, not visa as in the visa credit\debit cards
  5. You don't have to be in Thailand if you have roaming services opened. But you have to do the initial setup with your Thai SIM internet connection and not over wi-fi. Just disconnect from wi-fi, open SIM data (on the Thai SIM) and you should be able to set it up. Once setup completed you can use it over wi-fi
  6. The real question is why did he have to renew the card right now when he can't even leave home?
  7. Just try to imagine what would have happened if he'd say he likes the smell of a good f*rt after a good somtam....
  8. AFAIK "visa" bank accounts must be personal and not joint accounts, so what you wrote is irrelevant. A personal account must not be touched without a court order once the owner dies. A person with access to the account might be able to withdraw money BEFORE the bank is notified of the owner's death, but it is no legal and the person who withdrew the money will be in trouble once the bank realises what happened.
  9. 1. They might have moved in during this year. 2. As up until la at year it was illegal so many smoked it in ways that no one will notice. 3. Again, up until last year it wasn't a daily issue everywhere so you might have smelt it and just didn't notice. 4. There's no such thing as weed addict. It is not physically addicting.
  10. Is this what they told you at the Embassy? AFAIK all Thai nationals must issue the ID card when they turn 15. However they can get an ID card from as early as 6 years old. They might have changed the law though.
  11. True. I see it the same way. But obviously those who have them think differently.
  12. Just to make it short - the re entry permit is based on the current permit to stay. The got it, and then got a new extension. So obviously the re entry was no longer valid. They should have told the officer at CW that they're also waiting to renew the permit of stay BEFORE they applied for it. S\He would have told them to come back AFTER they got the renewal
  13. Actually, legally not allowed, not technically. As for "most of us have mowed the lawn, painted a wall, cut down a tree, cleaned a pool etc" if done in or around your home, the place where you live - no problems. What you're doing on your farm is illegal and you can't even get a work permit for that kind of work. Being a farm that means commercial, a place of business. The fact that you do it in parts of the farm that no one can see, well, you know, a thief is not jailed for being a thief. He's jailed for getting caught...
  14. Some details are missing: 1.gps coordinates. 2. Postcode. 3. Phone number. 4. Pricelist of all Ron types. 5. Extra charges for bringing over a "friend"?
  15. Ecxectly. The post I replied to said something like the op couldn't find out didn't know who the juristic person is. My reply was supposed to make it clear.
  16. A juridical person is a human legal person that is not a single natural person but an organization recognized by law as a fictitious person such as a corporation, government agency, non-governmental organisation, or international organization (such as the United Nations). Other terms include artificial person, corporate person, judicial person, juridical entity, juridic person, or juristic person. A juridical person maintains certain duties and rights as enumerated under relevant laws.[1][2] The rights and responsibilities of a juridical person are distinct from those of the natural persons constituting it. If the building is registered as a condominium it is a juristic person. If you register a company - the company becomes a juristic person. On this case of the op they might not have an elected committee as the developer sold only half the units and therefore he still owns half the building and has 50% of the votes, so basically can run the building as he sees fit.
  17. Yes, but you must be enrolled in an official home school program, either local (Thai) or foreign as school is compulsory. The child has to take official tests every year according to the official program. I know that in Thailand they are strict and only test according to the child's age level so you can't test for MY level if you're 14 and supposed to be M2 level.
  18. Good point, but they would have to purchase land and then do all the work from preparing the soil, planting, taking care of the trees till they're ready for harvest. Much bigger investment than outsourcing to farmers. For many years CP has been doing it with other crops such as corn - they sell you the seeds and then buy the ready produce after it has been dried to specs. Recently they have started doing the complete process by themselves in some areas on leased and purchased land but I'm not sure the big investment they have to put down will be worth it in the first few years.
  19. Heard recently that rosewood trees planted today will be bought back by the company for up to 100k\tree after 10 years. Can start selling after about 5 years but for much less. You need a permit to sell the trees so you should look for a company that can arrange the permit and supply the plants
  20. Went there on a Tuesday without appointment. Finished all the process in less than 1 hour. Got the passport by EMS on Friday same week
  21. It's all about the power of the motor, and somewhat the blades. I have a ninja 1500 watts and it works great
  22. She's welcome on my (not BAHT bus...) Any time she wants
  23. The problem with that is for the sellers. Are they supposed to ask every female for a doctor certificate that she's NOT pregnant? Are the supposed to squeeze female customers boobs to make sure they're not breastfeeding?
  24. You can't get physically addicted to cannabis. And if you're talking about mental addictions, well some people get edicted to chocolate and other such "healthy" substances
