Giuliani's Medal of Freedom: Trump's Controversial Honour Call
OK, should we play you Borat movie clip of Rudy waking up his turkey to exercise with "Borat's underage sister"? That's before Borat storms in the room, pulls her out and shouts "She's too old for you!". Such integrity. He really deserves a medal... Or maybe that's your kind of a hero?

Nok Air Grounded from International Flights Amid Safety Concerns
Or Air India... But admittedly, their planes are a bit worn down on the seat upholstery, the seat belts, also the paint on the outside looks like it's been a long time since that iconic beak and feathers were painted on it... some planes have paint completely gone on the top. Quite sad to see, actually. But that's cosmetic. What really matters is how well it's maintained mechanically, for which I've no idea. Flew with them several times lately as they were the only airline that had flight when I needed it. No complaints on their service, all my flights were on time as well. Thinking back... their planes don't look any worse than Air Asia's when they first started in Thailand, before they ditched all that B737s and replaced them with new A320s...

Trump takes 10% of Intel, as Washington becomes Chinatown
Not really that positive. https://www.reuters.com/world/china/intel-warns-us-stake-could-hurt-international-sales-future-grants-2025-08-25/ Don't forget 70+% of sales for Intel come from outside US. And by US government's involvement, sizeable chunk of that was just handed over to AMD. Now other countries can slam tariffs on Intel the same way that Boeing/Airbus spat of government support played out, or the way penalties are put on Chinese cars due to Chinese government's support to car makers there. This isn't good for Intel at all, which even Intel admit themselves. That's AFTER Trump demanded new Intel CEO resign because he's having too close ties to Chinese: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c70x6602pdyo In usual TACO fashion, he praised the man a few days later: https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/11/intel-ceo-trump-lip-bu-tan.html I saw news elsewhere. Above are just the hits that came on Google when searching for media coverage on the topics.

Veena Singh Makes History as First Thai-Indian Miss Universe
Yes, but she actually is divorced as her husband wasn't supporting her participation in pageants, but some say it's more likely they divorced as married women are far less likely to win than single ones. Whichever way, doesn't really matter. Congratulations to the first Indian to win a Thai beauty competition... True, so she must hear very well. But also has a way to hide them...

Thailand Post Suspends US Parcels as Trump Axes Tax Exemption
Similar here. I am following some items in Jomashop and B&H so I know what the prices used to be. They are 20-30% higher now than what they were a couple of months ago. I remember Amazon threatened to break the price down to show the cost of tariffs, but Trump threatened Bezos out of it. Reality is, though, that already now many Americans are paying more for products, and that will only increase when the old stock piled up before April sells out. PS: I've used JBL Quantum TWS, and just threw it away after 1 year and 1 month. Sounds heavenly, but of the 8+ hours (I think it said 8 hours per charge, 24 hours total assuming 2 recharges in the case), it never actually lasted more than 2 hours, even less with dongle. It came down to 1 hour with all noise cancellation disabled after a year, and a month later literally dropped to 0 on one of buds. Seems since Samsung took over, the longevity of their products fell through the floor. Back to Sony.

Maxwell Denies Existence of Epstein ‘Client List’
Unedited, but in Russian. Use Google translate to read this former FSB agent's post: https://www.facebook.com/alnurKZ/posts/pfbid02nuwJMAXvqN2H66Xh7GckuBgEEnUq3XDRi61T25RoBR5Rdgz3sq5AXpqBmWt6Sg7ml Putting this aside - how can you have a lying attorney general? She said she had files on her desk, now these files don't exist and never have. What kind of a message on credibility does that send?

Thailand Tightens Mobile Banking to Curb Scams
My mobile app throws a questionnaire at me from time to time. It's security based questions, like what you should do if you receive an SMS telling you that you won a prize and provides link to claim it, etc. Basic stuff that you would think everyone would know the right answers to, but... I'm sure not everyone passes.

Snapdragon Processors
And if you were talking about having one in Android phone, I'd fully agree. But having one inside a Windows laptop...

I see your legacy love for Intel, but unfortunately Intel was left in the dust by AMD now. Intel is far behind in silicon fabrication technology as their own foundry isn't very good compared to TSMC where AMD and NVidia make their gear (and so does Qualcomm). AMD Ryzen with Zen5 architecture are built on a much smaller technology than even the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, which translates to higher speeds at lower power consumption. For a longer lifespan, stick to AMD and avoid budget models. Budget models are the ones that don't even have a series name... Model is just like 14fdksj. The "premium" models last much longer, which at Lenovo would be ThinkPad, at Dell say XPS, at Asus ZenBook, at HP Envy or Elite or ZBook... Actually HP makes it the easiest to see whether something is a premium product or not. The basic models have a round HP logo, premium products have these 4 sticks as a logo... Take the one with 4 sticks.

Unfortunately yes. Microsoft Windows 11 ARM edition works well, so does Microsoft Office. Printing fails. Antivirus doesn't work. Most of the rest of the software either can't be installed or fails to work when you run it. For now, I'd say stay away.

I'm considering taking Metformin for off label reasons
If you do go ahead with it, get a glucose sensor (I'd recommend you Ottai one as it's 15 days lasting, connects to app in your phone so there's no need to buy a reader or side load any unofficial apps) to track your blood glucose. Metmorfin does drop your glucose and you should be observant of symptoms of too low sugar and always have something sweet at arm's reach. Werther's original candies are apparently a sugar bomb (the original one, not the sugar free one). If you start sweating very badly at night, you've overdone it. Maybe, if you are taking it, do so in the morning, not in the evening. The <1000 baht sensor for 15 days would show you what's happening with your glucose levels, and possibly also answer your question on how close to pre-diabetic stage you are. There are several other ways to avoid dementia, though. From avoiding some foods, to exercise, to actively communicating with others, to gaining new knowledge... When in MBA course I had a schoolmate, a retired brain surgeon in his late 60s. He didn't need that knowledge. He was there to delay dementia. And I encourage you to find ways to avoid it. I do know what it means to it. My father suffered from worsening condition for a decade before passing away. I would never want to go through that myself.
