Anutin's PM Prospects Rise as Bhumjaithai Gains Ground

It's so refreshing to see all these new faces in Thai politics... -
Why would TSMC bother with Donald's demands? Intel's foundry sucks. Samsung is marginally better but incapable of producing the volumes it needs. AMD, nVidia, Qualcomm, Apple, etc. rely 100% on semiconductors from TSMC. If he slams the tariffs on them, he's only killing American companies. I say - let him do it.

Diversity is important when you are innovating or designing products and services, as diverse opinions and ideas give you a wider customer base, since those diverse people can share what would work for them. Air traffic control is probably not an area where you put diversity in front of experience and competence, though. But I would argue that, even if this happened, it would probably not be the sole reason. Covid's global travel shutdowns also had a lot to do with competences lost. Pilots, mechanics, ATC,... these people were out of work for years, doing other stuff. Mistakes seen after they returned, and all the way to now, at least some of them, also attribute to something lost during that time, procedures forgotten, routine stuff sidelined. Not arguing, just saying that there would be other reasons for dip in aviation safety, and that pandemic shutdown play a part.

https://ix.cnn.io/dailygraphics/graphics/20250129-dc-crash-map/static/media/ai2html-graphic-desktop.9a0f1774.jpg Orange is the line of the plane, and yellow (or lighter one) is the path of the helicopter. An air traffic controller said, “PAT 2-5 do you have the CRJ in sight?” The controller then said, “PAT 2-5 pass behind the CRJ.” The audio then captured audible gasps, including a loud “oooh” in the background apparently from the tower, at the moment of the crash. The tower then alerted another pilot of what has taken place. “I don’t know if you caught earlier what happened, but there was a collision on the approach end of 3-3. We are going to be shutting down operations for the indefinite future if you want to go back to the gate. Highly suggest you guys coordinate with the company. Let me know what you want to do,” the controller says, referencing runway 33.

Given the flags are still there, I would say human race did land on the moon. Just on the first mission, they have put it too close to the lander, which caused the engine to blow it away - lesson was learned and subsequent missions placed the flags further away. Which are still visible. https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-19050795

So self-sufficient other countries hold trillions of Dollars of its debt, which is massively increasing every second... US possibly could be self sufficient. But that would mean a massive downgrade in living standards that rely nearly entirely on cheap imported stuff from China and labour from pretty much everywhere. That said - what Trump has done by deporting criminals - that is the absolutely right thing to do which should have been done a long time ago, and should continue happening, not only in US but everywhere.

Nationwide Face Mask Distribution Begins to Combat Air Pollution
tomazbodner replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
KN94/N95 do have moderate effect on pollution but only when fitting the face well (which most people don't know how to achieve), then you have apart from the proper respirator like on your photo also electronic respirators - they use fans and HEPA filters. Probably most popular was LG Pure Care. But they are expensive and battery doesn't last very long, so they are OK for someone using it for a couple of hours outside, but not for someone wearing it all day. It is however more comfortable to breathe in due to fans blowing air inside and trying your face if it's hot. Because of the fans blowing in and having higher pressure inside than outside, they also don't have to seal that well, although the silicone mask around your nose and mouth is quite tight. https://www.lg.com/levant_en/air-care/lg-ap300awfa -
Trump's call with Danish PM sparks alarm & International Tension
tomazbodner replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What cause for concern? That would be green light for Russia to take the other half of Greenland and Eastern Europe, and China to finally take Taiwan, which would mean the only foundry that keeps US technologically ahead of China would become Chinese. And no, with the speed that this is happening, TSMC would not be opening another foundry in US, so you'd be stuck with Intel at 95%+ failure rate. Or Samsung, which begged TSMC to make their advanced stuff, a request that was denied. So basically what Trump is doing would doom US technological companies and hand the dominance to China. Which, btw. has most if not all minerals, deemed "critical raw materials". And they already closed the tap on several of them to US. MAGA Masterplan! -
Where's misleading part? He called Danish Prime Minister, he was "aggressive and conflicting", threatening with tariffs and military action if Denmark refuses to hand over Greenland. Now Germany and France got involved: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/08/france-warns-trump-against-threatening-eu-sovereign-borders-greenland There's nothing misleading about the headline.
