  1. Marry her and put a stop to this nonsense.
  2. Yeah... who knew? Everyone coming up with the legislation should have.
  3. It is very simple, in my opinion. Government needs money. Their very narrow view of people being stupid, stipulated them to tax the income of investors to foreign markets, expecting a big payday. But it turned out those people weren't stupid and instead stopped sending any money back to Thailand, causing a big dent in local investment. The government realised people weren't that stupid, and are now reversing the rule (until next election), where foreign income can be brought into Thailand without any taxes, because... well, they are broke... In style of Aseannow: This reversal underscores Thailand's strategic push toward flip-flop legislation, laying groundwork for enhanced economic benefits from population's investment skills and good luck. As finance ministry navigates these uncertain times in search of the next idea to empty residents' pockets, Thailand embraces an "easy in, hard out" approach to replace the "rob them now" approach which achieved the opposite of expected result.
  4. From that BKK Post article: Mr Panuwat said "the current rules on taxing foreign income have discouraged Thais investing abroad from bringing their money back into the country." No s**t, Sherlock, really?
  5. Lived 13 years in Phyathai, where most things were less than 15 minutes away. What the article does not mention, is: - crowds of rude tourists - the smell of garbage, especially at night - flooding after any downpour lasting more than 15 minutes - traffic jams most of the day - air pollution - noise pollution - pickpockets and scammers - every darn anti-government protest had to happen exactly there - and all those bullets flying around during red uprising... So yes, it was convenient. But the downsides outweighed the benefits of living there.
  6. There ya go.
  7. No one can save you...
  8. Refreshing new service compared to rentals many posters here are used to...
  9. That Chatuchak building would have eventually collapsed, with or without earthquake.
  10. Assuming they knew what it meant, 71 liked that within the first hour... And it's probably not Joe Nobody's following him.
  11. A bit sad former FBI director wouldn't know what 86 stood for, but then again, neither did I until 5 minutes ago. I was never FBI director, though...
  12. I thought someone mistyped her age as 29 instead of say 39, but when original article in no unclear terms showed he made her pregnant at 13... yes, why is he not locked up?
  13. Suay told police that she met Carl on the island of Koh Samui, in the southern province of Surat Thani in 2008, when she was 13 years old. Carl was reportedly 27 years old at that time. Suay became pregnant with their daughter, Em, but she later discovered that Carl was already married in Sweden. Carl’s legal wife subsequently sued him for taking away and sexually abusing a minor, which led to the Swedish man returning to his country and receiving a two-year prison sentence. Don't think anything is lost in translation. That's from Thaiger article.
  14. Makes any wannabe attackers incapacitated, out of breath...
  15. I thought at least they would check something like that before posting it. I've tried to find ANYTHING supporting that claim, and apart from above video, all search engines find absolutely nothing on the topic. There was something about Arkansas senator using military helicopter under Clinton's presidency, but other than that - nothing. I don't know where this stuff comes from. Either this fake news spreading crowd is completely illiterate or they truly believe wildest conspiracy theories thrown at them without a single brain cell in operation of not only verifying data, but at least considering whether that is at all plausible or possible, before forwarding it.
  16. Only thing I can find and it says this is a myth.
  17. You don't get it. Poor Donald could no longer afford his private jet, so he had to sell it to a donor. Rich guys would know how miserable life is when you don't have B757 parked at your hangar, so they offered the man one of their leftovers, so he can pretend to be a billionaire again.
  18. People are far more recognisable if you don't blur out their faces... if warning others was the intent...
  19. Move cables underground and this won't happen!
  20. I'd like to see you fix it and pay for it.
  21. The time has finally come when Indians would fly to US to buy cheap medicine... Hallelujah!
  22. I am waiting for some career burglar complaining that police is blocking him from doing his job... Those darn Ukrainians are also making Putin's job difficult... With stupid examples above... where, exactly, is the problem? With police and Ukrainians or rather.... ?
  23. Thai reciprocal tariff on American product, surely.
  24. Got caught in this on Rama 9 expressway... couldn't see a thing out the window, it's been a while since seeing a downpour like that. Some smart ones put hazard lights on. Some Darwin award nominees didn't even turn on the lights...
  25. This bus must be a real troublemaker... phakinbus...
