  1. Books. In the past a few other things, I guess.
  2. Hearing her say that (her aunt told the same to Western Digital and Honda in 2011 for Ayutthaya.... remember that?) I'm hoping 30+ floor is high enough...
  3. That politician only borrows watches from dead friends...
  4. Sneakers, now watches, what's next? Trump personally signed nukes (made of gold and sprinkled with diamonds)?
  5. Maybe clarification. The capacitor itself would have cost me about 300 baht off Lazada, but I wasn't going to open up aircon compressor myself to replace it. Symptoms of broken capacitor: - air is not cold, looks like just internal fan is running - there is water dripping from flaps on the inner unit of aircon - sometimes it's hot air blowing inside and cooler air on the compressor - fan isn't running or is running very slowly outside Some larger compressors are designed so that anyone can replace capacitor - a couple of screws to remove front plate, pull one out, another one in, replace the plate. That was the case on 28k BTU unit. But on smaller 18k BTU unit, which was in the center of 3 compressors, the technician really earned his money by having to dismantle entire box to get to capacitor. So it depends - you can go to Shopee or Lazada to buy it - check the current capacitor size and replace it yourself (it would be good idea to cut power to aircon before you touch anything inside), or else call the aircon service company, which would charge you probably around 1500 baht total for the replacement and part. https://shopee.co.th/product/634411534/21971951040
  6. Capacitor (starter) can is about 1500 baht, give or take, and is pretty standard on different brands of aircons. Had 2 of them replaced recently on different sized aircons, always 1500 baht... including service.
  7. Never saw diesel tank looking like this...
  8. Maybe gas was leaking for a long time and was already in the interior of the bus, just awaiting for the spark... When you look at the bus itself front and back it was barely damaged. So any leaky gas tanks or pipes are not terribly likely to happen during the accident, but this was just an accident waiting to happen due to shoddy maintenance and probably original work. There were another group of students on same bus a day or 2 earlier, who complained of faul smell inside the bus. I guess they were lucky ones.
  9. Have you seen it on the inside? That alone is enough for me to stay away from ATTO3. Now BYD Seal on the other hand...
  10. That was sarcasm based on seeing how this country operates in many areas. And yes, I also hope country would evolve in safety ... one day, in not too distant future.
  11. It's NIO not NEO. Thank you. And yes, the article was about the same - apparently NIO is opening a factory in Hungary to build these battery exchange stations.
  12. I'm quite happy that prices are dropping so hopefully these loud pickups leaving a mile of black smoke behind will one day be a thing of the past. Now seeing a nearly silent bus or car driving past is a good thing, at least in the city, and I hope this continues. Though only part of the price drop is increase in production and with that lowering prices of components, especially battery cost which in past 3 years dropped about 70%, the other part are government subsidies. And those who bought BYD cars before price drop - you got free charging for a year or 2, so while you paid more, you're now driving around for free. Interesting was the article (in non-English news) about NEO car... Apparently it allows the whole battery kit to be removed and replaced with another within 3 minutes. You can buy a car with or without battery - with a latter option is to lease battery. Kind of like Coway water filter or air cleaner - you pay monthly rent on battery which NEO would replace if anything goes wrong, and it's 20k EUR cheaper purchase price that way. It is an expensive car at 90k EUR in Germany, though. But just that part - of replacing the whole 150 kWh battery pack within 3 minutes sounds interesting. That's the main beef some posters have with electric cars...
  13. With friends like these, who needs enemies...
  14. I call her as hot as my ice cold Pokka green tea...
  15. I fly TG. Liked Thai Smile before, and while quality of service declined somewhat after Thai took it over, it's still fixed price, included check-in baggage, decent A320 planes for most local routes. Timing is sometimes not great, so I would choose some other airline (NokAir, AirAsia) at times, but overall, I prefer Thai and it is no more expensive than others, with bags and seat selection if is often cheaper than others, and definitely a lot cheaper if booking near the date of departure. Was considering whichever airline for 2 days in advance booking. TG was 1/3 of the price of Air Asia and half the price of Nok. That's sort of good enough for me.
  16. I didn't know about these other pharmacies. Just suggested Diamond as it was waaaaayyyy cheaper than I got from my hospital before (by factor of 10) and they seem to have pretty much everything. There are a few more around there, Fascino is more expensive but has some special stuff, and then some others that look more like a warehouses than pharmacies. They more or less cost the same. The insulin isn't for me but my better half, and while we both have AccuCheck, she's using a Sibionics CGM. About 1800 baht per 14 days off Shopee or Lazada. Reads every minute and sends data into Android app. Gives alerts when sugar is too high or too low. And draws nice graphs, trends, calculates averages, etc. I know continuous glucose monitors are expensive, but they are worth it. Previously she used FreeStyle Libre, but that requires tapping a reader on the sensor to get readings, making it less convenient. The lancets and pen... Using AccuCheck SoftClix, which was 300 baht or so with a box of lancets, and 50 lancets are 60 THB on Lazada. My comment was primarily due to part of: "Most important to me is Insulin have tried over the years every Pharmacy within a 15 km radius NOT one sells Insulin". Around Siriraj hospital all of them sell it. That's what I wished to get across. The private hospital we both visit charged nearly 3000 baht for the same pen we found for 750 at Diamond pharmacy. It was an accidental find - didn't expect pharmacies would sell it, especially without prescription. So still doing followups every 2 months, but buying medicine on her own.
  17. Diamond Pharmacy sells Lantus Solostar basal insulin at 750 baht per one (lasts up to 28 days, in total about 300 units of insulin per pen). This is one you only inject once per day and lasts between 23 and 25 hours. You can buy needles separately at same pharmacy or get them online.
  18. I don't think Valsartan helps down there, if any, it does the opposite. But it works, alas not immediately - takes a few days to bring numbers down. You could get Valsartan as Diovan in 80 or 160 mg version from Diamond Pharmacy in soi Wang Lang (also known as Soi Sirirat) at about 720 baht for 28 pills of 160 mg.
  19. Fortune is doing OK. Pantip plaza Ngamwongwan is.... not doing well. Mostly phones. Pantip Bangkapi... not sure but that was dying for a long time. Pantip in Pratunam is gone. New name, very few shops inside, and nothing about IT. Palladium or whatever it's called where Pantip shops moved to before Pantip got previous makeover is also gone. There are however still shops around usual department stores, mostly from JIB Computer which sell gaming gear. I know Paragon had it, Central World also, I saw it at Central Lat Phrao, Central Westgate and The Mall Ngamwongwan, Central Rama9 and FortuneTown. If you know exactly what you want - get it online from Advice or JIB... If not, go to any of these shops or go browsing around Fortune on 3rd and mostly 4th floor.
  20. Having own PurpleAir sensor, I was not particularly shocked (after looking out the window) that it showed AQI 150+ yesterday morning. It has somewhat improved today, showing 67 AQI right now, with 19.77 PM2.5 and 20.40 PM10 in Bang Sue.
  21. We have 2 condos next to each other. Ours provides charging for residents only - the charging area are slots inside the parking building. The neighbouring building has them outside, before the ramp. Both only have 3 slots right now, but word is that they'll increase with need. They are fast chargers, so not intended to park overnight. Both use an app to reserve and pay for charging (Sharge). Our residents have BMW, BYD, Deepal, MG, Neta and Tesla. I see random cars charging during the days when passing the building. No idea on cost of installation, as our condo, about 5 years old, had them installed from the start.
  22. Yes, but it wasn't her father's debt. It was debt of his son, her brother. So they should not have deducted from the father unless he was guarantor for her brother, which from his financial situation he was probably not.
  23. She only shows that to you. What she's really showing people when asked to describe you is this:
